Pedestrian killed in crash on Nova Road A 74-year-old man died after he was struck by a vehicle while crossing Nova Road on Saturday, Aug. 17, Ormond Beach Police reported. The crash took place at the intersection of Hand Avenue and Nova Road at around 6:25 a.m. Police report the vehicle was traveling northbound on the right lane of Nova Road, with a green traffic light, at the time of the crash. The pedestrian, whose identity was not released, was heading eastbound across Nova Road. He was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the crash, police report. The driver of the vehicle did not see the pedestrian until it was too late to stop. The driver pulled over, called 911 and cooperated with the investigation. No charges are expected to be filed against the driver. The man was transported to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.
