Who is your best friend? It is unfair to name only one from the limited list I have. What would you grab if your house was on fire? My phone and laptop for sure. What is your destination for the trip of your dreams? The trip of my dreams doesn’t have an end destination, it’s all around the world. From exploring small towns and big cities to the deep forests and seas. That is my dream trip! When you were little, what did you want to be when you grow up? And do you still want it? An astronaut. Well, half the kids in my class wanted to become that! I’m happy with what I have for now, but I wouldn’t mind a ride in space for sure. If you got stuck in the elevator and was forced to listen to only one song, which would it be? Unche Hai Building Lift Tere Band Hai. Since I am being forced I assume that’s what it would be. What is the best advice anyone has ever given you? The best advice that someone gave me was that always listen to all the advices you get, think over them and then decide. You never know where you can be wrong.

Budapest is small and very manageable if you plan a two to three day trip. Most excretions are walk able if you are staying in town. It’s very safe but freelance taxis are more expensive then a cab ordered on the phone, so try to avoid that. You can find some great vintage shops in the Jewish quarters but you have to bargain. The local food is yummy so do try it! If you want to try Michelin star then Textura and Costes are two places I will recommend.

Also did you travel during corona? Can you give us tips for that too? Yes, I travelled during that time and we just made sure that we had enough hand sanitizer and wet wipes. I couldn’t get hold of a mask so I covered my face with my pashmina whilst travelling. We tried avoiding street food too.

des i p arty The most fun outfit from my wedding looks was this tomato red pants sari designed by Élan . The idea was one solid colour. The blouse and palu were fully embellished with zardozi and sequence and the green and blue chatta patti border added the twist of colour. The ensemble exuded a very joyous vibe and it was the perfect look for my kick off desi party. I styled my hair with retro waves swept to the side with a kundan chokar and a peacock jhoomer. I kept my eyes very subtle (with lashes) and complimented them with a red pout.
m ay u n For my mayun, my sister designed a simple and classic outfit. It was a haldi colour angrakha with gota detailing borders. She styled the outfit with a sheer net duppata with gota lace on the borders. My jewelry was silver. I braided my hair in a paranda and gave myself a very natural makeup look. I used Sheer coverage foundation with a lip and cheek tint. Mascara only.

The lehnga was again gold tissue and kimkhaab with gota,dabka, kora and nakshee.

The shawl was a taffy pink with silver tila. I wore gold jewelry from my family's heirloom. I had gold gilded eyes with a brush of brown on the socket. No eyeliner but lashes only. I used sheer foundation with pink blush and pout. My hair was a sleek bun adorned with fresh white flowers.

Nikkah was a traditional look designed by my mother and sister. Much inspiration was taken from my mother's valima outfit, which was in ivory and red. The shirt was a kurti in a champagne colour with dabka and nakshee work on the neckline and sleeves. The dupatta was gold mukaish tissue with a heavily embellished coral pink border. I got our names (Henna Ahmed) embroidered on the palu with silver tila.
My Valima's outfit by Élan was as much of a surprise to me as to anyone else. I went for one appointment only where Khadija and I decided it will be sky blue and silver-that's it. Four months later, she created the most glamorous outfit heavily embellished with zardozi, gotta work mixed with pearls and sequence. I opted for an all back bun with nargis flowers around it. My makeup was charcoal grey smokey eyes with matte mocha pink lips.
