ROM-COMS TO WATCH THIS V-DAY valentine’s day is a great day to cuddle up and watch a movie about love. but with an abundance of sappy movies, it gets hard to sift out the good from the great. of course that’s our job so we have done the work for you! here are some of the best romantic movies ever made to watch this valentine’s day.

4 1 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU This late ‘90s teen romance just screams angst. A smart girl avoids boys her age, deeming them too immature, but her younger sister doesn’t get to date unless she does. We love this movie largely thanks to the unconventional choice of its two romantic leads. Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger are weightier, more thoughtful actors than usually get cast in these kinds of roles, which is different but great.

2 (500) DAYS OF SUMMER

Zooey Deschanel is that quirky and beautiful girl everyone wants to be or be with. In short, the boy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) meets the girl (Deschanel), and falls in love, but she’s just that into him. The movie highlights their relationship, and is a great portrayal of modern love and relationships. (500) Days of Summer isn’t your traditional romantic comedy, and maybe that’s a good thing – unlike all the others, it’s a thought-provoking film about love.

LOST IN TRANSLATION

Lost In Translation might be one of those bleak comedies, but it has a great romance at its heart. Bob Harris (Bill Murray) and Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson) really capture what it feels like to be traveling somewhere completely unfamiliar and wanting a connection. The brief moments of Anna Farris spoofing Cameron Diaz add just the right amount of laughs to tide you over, until the moment when Bob whispers something in Charlotte’s ear and the two say goodbye.

LOVE ACTUALLY

Love Actually follows the stories of eight British couples dealing with love in very different ways. It’s a romantic comedy as well as a Christmas film, but its sappiness is complemented with genuine and heartwarming moments. It is truly impossible to watch this movie without laughing, crying, and falling in love with at least one character! Love Actually may be the best romantic comedy ever written.

Sleepless In Seattle is one of the greatest romantic comedies of all time and is the crowning jewel of the Tom HanksMeg Ryan rom com trilogy. What makes Sleepless in Seattle so amazing is its interweaving of comedy and tragedy, in a way that leaves you on a constant emotional rollercoaster. This movie can take you from laughing at a stupid joke to feeling sad for the main character’s situation in life.

The Notebook is loved by women everywhere for good reason. Allie (Rachel McAdams) is such a warm and likable character, pursued by the equally charming Noah (Ryan Gosling). Their love story withstands many tests but we realize that it lasts into their old age. It might be cheesy, but it’s heartwarming and genuine too.

If you haven’t yet seen Titanic, you must! And if you have, consider watching it again this Valentine’s Day, but be ready to bring out the tissues. This classic romantic-disaster film won eleven Oscars, because of its superb cast, plot, and music. Spoiler Alert: The ship sinks. Before it happens though, Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio) steals Rose (Kate Winslett) from her rich husband-to-be. Titanic is a tearjerker with an epic romance that is fated to failure.

Kristen Bell plays Beth, an ambitious New Yorker who steals some coins from a famous love fountain in Italy during her sister’s wedding. Because of her theft, she’s chased down by Danny DeVito, Will Arnett, Jon Heder, and Dax Shepard, who are under a love spell. The movie is lighthearted, funny, and a great way to create and celebrate Valentine’s Day.

What started as a friends wedding turned into a short trip to Maldives right after that turned into a short trip to Dubai because I was tempted to try something new (a rustic bread course) and well Dubai is a second home. The food, the people, the lights, the entertainment - Who can say no!

Who did you go with? It was a get away trip with my husband Hassan but to top it all off my sister and my mother joined us in Dubai with my daughter. I must say ALLHUMDULILLAH the past 18 days have been such a blessing!

Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our section, planes, trains & automobiles!

Sights to not miss out on? I would definitely recommend hard rock with or without family it was super child friendly as well. We don't come back from Dubai without trying our favorite Korean restaurant called shogun! took

Where did you stay? In Maldives, we ended up at the Hard Rock hotel which was beautiful but not so secluded as well so we had different restaurants and many activities to keep us busy as well. We chose a peaceful and super convenient hotel apartment in Dubai where we could get rid of the not so attractive crazy tan, laze around and spend quality time with my toddler.

Tips? -Maldives is stunning but expensive! Don't rush into things and plan carefully! Prioritize. Not every island is scuba diving friendly which was something I missed due to the lack of coral reefs around the hotel . -Eat but exercise otherwise you will gain 5 pounds like me! -If you want to take the course in Dubai be prepared to have the best time but also you ll be standing for 9-10 hours a day ..
