Did you stumble upon your career or was it something that you always wanted? I was seven years old and my mum used to design clothes, we had workers come in our drawing room, had a designated store for her fabrics and materials so one day I made a random sketch and showed it to my parents that I want to get it made, instead of cajoling me and my parents asked me for the details from choosing the fabric to the type of embellishments and its colors they got it made and my mum displayed it. The day I saw the outfit transforming from a seven year Old’s scribble to wearable outfit, I knew I wanted to feel this happiness for the rest of my live hence did my bachelors in fashion and design and started Zubia Zainab after graduating. What was your “aha!” moment? The outfit I mentioned, I saw my school headmistress wearing it one day, the elation I felt, I think it marked the beginning of aha moments that have continued since I have started my label. Who has been the greatest inspiration in your life? My parents and my grandparents are the greatest inspiration in my life. They have made me what I am today. When was time you felt completely discouraged and how did you push through it? Set backs are a part of life and it’s the little things that don’t go the way you them to that. The resilience to overcome them culminates in success eventually. Any successful person would vouch for that.
bucket list? To travel to Hunza and Gilgit. I have seen the rest of our breathtaking beautiful motherland, only Hunza is left. What does nobody tell you about being the boss? People say being the boss means you work on your on terms, make your own time but in reality it means your working 24/7. Name on boss lady that you admire and how she still inspires you? My mother Masooma Sibtain is my biggest inspiration. Watching her juggle a family and fashion design career like a pro to transitioning to someone who advocates gender specific policy advocacy initiative and empowers women everyday. I have seen her do justice with all three at once, never having a frown on her face.
"THE RESILIENCE TO OVERCOME SET BACKS CULMINATES IN SUCCESS EVENTUALLY. ANY SUCCESSFUL PERSON WOULD VOUCH FOR THAT."
What was the best advice that your mentor gave you? Do everything with the best of your intentions, put in your maximum efforts and leave the rest to God. What are the top 3 things you cherish in your life? 1. My family, I wouldn’t be who I am without them. 2. My label, seeing it grow everyday 3. The happiness I see on faces of the brides when they wear their outfits for the first time.
Describe a day in your life Waking up, getting to work, coming back home at night, spending time with family and then dedicating two to three hours to reading. Complete this sentence: To me, a #BossLady is…” A boss lady is strong, ambitious and utterly beautiful in the chaos that surrounds her. In other words she is magic.
What did you learn from your biggest failure? Failures happen but learning from them and try not repeating. Take them as they come. One cannot enjoy the highs unless they have experiences the lows life brings along. Which world leader would you most like to have dinner with? Our very own Prime Minister Imran Khan of course. What advice would you give to young girls out there who have dreams and goals like yours? Never be afraid to dream big and work for them. Also, if you find your inspiration at a young age work for it and try to get professional education in that field no matter what it is.
What is #1 thing that is yet to be ticked off your

I would definitely have been a special effects make up artist Who has been your biggest musical influence? Micheal Jackson, Eastern Classical Gurus and most recently a band called the Midnight What does your typical day/ week look like?
A MULTI-FACETED PERSONALITY, ABBAS ALI KHAN IS MOST PROMINENTLY KNOWN AS A MASTER OF MUSIC AND AN ICON FOR THE PAKISTANI MUSIC INDUSTRY. A CRITICALLY ACCLAIMED MUSIC PRODUCER AND SINGER, KHAN IS A SOUGHTAFTER MUSIC INFLUENCER ALSO KNOWN FOR HIS CONTRIBUTIONS N FILM, TELEVISION AND THEATER. WITH EDUCATION CLOSE TO HIS HEART, KHAN ALSO CONTRIBUTES TO PROMOTING EDUCATION IN PAKISTAN THROUGH HIS WORK.
My day is quite chilled out as music is my passion and also my source of income plus my studio is also at home, I wake up have breakfast and get to work, I take frequent breaks, in the evening I go out and look after my plants, when I’m working out I go to the gym in the evening, I have early dinner then browse through social media,
watch tutorials and sleep, on weekends I try and meet friends for either breakfast or dinner. Can you tell us a little about the genre of music you perform? My music is full of surprises! I don’t stick to one genre but i prefer pop-music and I do explore different sub genres that come under the pop umbrella e.g. recently I’ve been dabbling into synth wave. What would you say is the best/most exciting part of your job? I earn from something that is my passion too. I think thats a blessing that not everyone has. Which in your opinion is the best song you have released, and why? Every song is special to me so I can’t pick out one. Is there any musician that you would love to collaborate with? Anyone who is hardworking, experimental and melodious, anyone who strives to break the boundaries of mediocrity and “run of the mill” What is your next project, anything you are currently working on? There is a very interesting web series that I’m working on as a composer plus working on two of my own songs apart from working on jingles. Where do you see yourself 5 years from now? I believe God is the best planner so I don’t really make big plans I just go with the flow. Do you have any other passions or talents aside from music? Yes I love growing exotic peppers from all around the world. Is there any piece of advice you would like to give an aspiring musician? Stay true to your art, learn and practice but always remember that soul is above virtuosity.

Why did you decide to become a fitness trainer? Fitness has been a part of my life for about 20 years now. I started very young; playing various sports and ardently involved in athletics. When I started weight/resistance training, it was primarily to overcome my latent anxiety due to being ‘too skinny’ and also to work towards my childhood dream (yes really) of having an aesthetic physique one day. Fitness has always helped me overcome mental barriers and kept me moving forward. I made up my mind about pursuing a career in fitness 8 years ago, but over time my mission became more so of helping others overcome body image issues and to incorporate fitness in their lives to help tackle all other obstacles in their lives, like it did for myself. Being physiologically healthy leads to a more functional and healthy thought process! Who was your biggest inspiration and why? While I have many idols in the fitness world like Greg Plitt, Frank Zane and of course Arnold, the biggest inspiration came from the Australian aesthetic idol Zyzz, a gentleman that revolutionized a major chunk of the younger generation to take up fitness in order to improve their lives. His story appeals to a massive audience. How important is nutrition to you when deciding a clients regimen? Every client has a different genetic make up. Body type, activity level, daily routine, erratic hormonal issues and many other factors are taken into account when deciding a nutrition regimen for a client. So yes, nutrition is abso-
lutely the most important. It is more than just fuel for the body! If you weren’t a fitness entrepreneur what would you be doing now? Either I’d be continuing corporate marketing or would have enrolled into a film school in the US. Haha I have many varied interests. Which fitness personality do you look up to and why? Greg Plitt! That guy had the most complete aesthetic, athletic and functional physique I have ever seen. He looked great as a a fitness model while possessing an insane work ethic and innate athletic ability! How do you keep your fitness knowledge up to date? My approach to fitness is very holistic. Thus I’m always learning about different aspects like bio-mechanics, different forms of training for different outcomes, reading up on new breakthroughs and also experimenting with a lot of concepts on myself. Along with multiple certifications already, I’m in the pursuit for more advanced specialisations now. What’s the Moto or advice you live by? No retreat! No surrender! Failures may come and go but champions never quit. What kind of workout do you enjoy the most? Nothing beats an intense aesthetic bodybuilding session in the gym (because focusing on the aesthetics is a priority to me. An artistic mind would always want balance, symmetry
and beauty in everything.) The feeling of blood pumping into the target muscle group is like no other! Three essential exercises you’d recommend for all clients? Squats, deadlifts and pushups. Something unique about your training style? Precise Audio-Visual cues. I incorporate music heavily to influence a workout session. In my music library you’ll find everything from classical music to 80s funk and disco, 90s pop, Hip-Hop, dance music, modern deep house and much more. I have a track for every client and workout. My music sets the mood and tempo of the session which I supplement with a coaching style that really pumps one up during grind time while teaching you about theory between sets. What do you do for leisure other than exercise? Reading, playing the piano, indulging in creative videography and video games! What kind of discipline is required by a fitness trainer to stay successful? Consistency is the key! If it was easy, everybody would do it. The challenge is to keep going even when you feel dejected and exhausted! A lot of mental steel is definitely required. Ten years from now you will be? InshaAllah heading a global movement that incorporates fitness and mental health and is responsible for raising awareness and providing solutions to those in despair.

ARIES (MAR. 21- APRIL 20) Aries, this is the new beginning you have been hoping for, one that will provide you with both creative satisfaction and financial freedom. If you’re a part of the startup bandwagon, prepare to receive funding soon. Be sure to tap into the right contacts and be seen at the right places, especially on Friday. A serendipitous encounter could lead to big gains. Remember to make patience your best virtue. Things will only take off towards the beginning of Autumn. As for the fruition season? Your birthday month promises to be significant in so many ways. TAURUS (APR. 21- MAY 21) You may or may not see magnificent results immediately. Don’t let that stop you from being consistent in your efforts. Let ‘forward and onwards’ be your mantra. You are on the right track, Taurus. Just be sure not to fall into a rut. Challenge yourself to do things differently, no matter how mundane the task. This is the key to unlocking your creativity. Work-related travel may be on the cards during the first half of the week. Who says you can’t be productive and have fun? Remember, you’re allowed to have two separate itineraries. GEMINI (MAY 22-JUNE 21) Don’t let the Gregorian calendar dictate your life, Gemini. Understand where you are at energetically. What is it going to take to rejuvenate your system and help you find that zest for life? Your journey towards self-healing begins today. Could a vacation or staycation be the answer to bringing your mojo back? Check into a spa resort and allow yourself to be luxuriated. CANCER (JUNE 22-JULY 22) You don’t have to say yes to everything that comes your way. Be discriminatory with your time and energy, and invest in projects that your soul feels aligned with. On the upside, this week presents the opportunity to challenge yourself both intellectually and creatively. Continue to push the boundaries, and bring your most experimental self to the table. Remember, not everybody will be on board Team Cancer. They don’t have to. Don’t waste time defending your ideals.
SCORPIO (OCT. 24 - NOV. 22) Out of the darkness and into the light, Scorpio. This week promises to bring joyous tidings, especially if you’ve been putting in the work. Some of you may find yourself in the public eye and for all the right reasons. Let this victory be the fuel that helps you attract greater opportunities, starting today. This is also the week to up the entrepreneurship game. Could connecting with a mentor help you make the right moves? Set up a meeting without delay. SAGITTARIUS (NOV. 23 -DEC. 21) “The entire Universe is conspiring to give you everything that you want.” An Abraham Hicks favourite to awaken you, dear Sagittarius. Don’t let your mind create limitations where there are none. Sure, things may not materialize according to your timeline, but that does not have to be such a bad thing. Practice the art of surrender. At the same time, continue to put in the work knowing that you will eventually manifest magnificent results. CAPRICORN (DEC 22.- JAN. 20) The start of the week could bring a brilliant opportunity to learn and expand your skillset. Say yes to this training module, especially if you are in a leadership position. This will help you lead your team to greatness. As always, be mindful of the burden you take on. Saying yes to everything may seem like a great idea in the beginning, but you will run out of fuel eventually. There will be nobody to pick up the pieces if you experience another crash and burn. AQUARIUS (JAN. 21.- FEB. 19) Your intuition is extra sharp, especially at the start of the week. Be receptive to the cosmic downloads, Aquarius. This will help you make the best decisions. Just be sure not to overanalyze what’s coming through. Doubting your higher wisdom could take you a few steps back in the game. On the upside, those who’ve been wise with their funds will be able to clear off old debts and experience financial freedom. PISCES (FEB. 20-MAR. 20) When something really really really matters to you, let it go. Tell the Universe, ‘You know what I want. Give it to me in the path of least resistance.’ There is no such thing as ‘the chase’. Being a part of the flow has taught you that what is meant to be yours will flow into your existence. For now, you’re just focusing on staying open.
LEO (JULY 23-AUG 22) Leo, we are officially in fruition season. This week promises to bring joyous tidings for those who have been putting in the work. Learn to be wise with your finances. The Universe is providing you with the chance to create a solid reserve. While some things are manifesting at jet speed, others may be slow to come to you. Don’t lose hope just yet. Being consistent in your efforts could be the key to turning things around. VIRGO (AUG. 23 -SEPT. 23) It doesn’t matter how old you are. There is always room to learn and grow. Unleash your experimental side, Virgo. Joy and playfulness are the magic ingredients that will help you create your best work. Don’t lose sight of the long-term goals though. Reference the vision board every time you feel lost or confused. What you need to be weary of is the voice in your head that tells you that you don’t deserve to be successful every time you make progress. LIBRA (SEPT. 24 -OCT. 23) Learn from your past mistakes, but don’t make them a part of your story. The start of this week brings with itself the reminder that forgiveness will free you. Make a constant effort to let go, especially if you’re joining hands with them again. Some of you have been consciously working towards opening new doors. Friday ushers in a brand new phase, one that will help you feel more in alignment with your soul purpose than you have in a long time.
