What's the story behind you becoming a part of this field? It is so sad how I actually got into art that now it seems like a joke to me. I was depressed and hating life! Being a chronic introvert the only outlet I had was art and soon it became an addiction. Which other medium would you like to work with and why? The only 2 mediums I have professionally worked with so far are pens and watercolor. I have no interest in any other medium as of yet. But you never know, maybe in the near future Tell us about some of the challenges you've faced along the way ever since you've been drawing and how you overcame them. The real challenge is not the art itself but to get into the industry. It took me a while to get a grip on the weird tactics and make my own voice heard. I just decided very early on to do things my way and not really fall into the pressure of how the system is. People tell me otherwise but I just don’t care. I do what I want, when I want, and it seems to go fine so far.

Whose work are you most inspired by? Most of my personal taste in art is developed through my education in architecture. When I draw something, I visualize it in a space and how it would stand out and be a center of attention. i religiously follow the quote by Mies Van Der Rohe “Less is more”, I love the business side of the modern art world too! There is so much more that happens behind and I want to know all of it! This curiosity of how it happens inspires me! How much time does it take you to complete one piece of drawing? Depends of the size of my artwork. It can take anywhere from a week to months! But never less. I am a workaholic. I am in my studio all day, if not making art, replying to emails or planning further strategies and shows. No breaks! Not working takes me into a negative space of mind, so I keep busy. If you could showcase your work internationally, where would you want that to be? I would have to realistically see where my art would be ap-

preciated the best and study the market to filter interested galleries and competition. Do all of your individual pieces contain backstories? Oh no! This obsession within the art world to feed off of a suffering story of an artist behind his work is not my cup of tea. I do conceptualize my body of work in terms of why I am drawing something but there is no story behind it. There is no thesis, it is real, it is simple. It is for everyone! Learn to appreciate the skill! There is so much talent going to waste because the focus has shifted from actually making good art to selling bare minimum work with silly post conceived backstories! From your experience, how is art perceived in Pakistan vs. internationally? Most of my work is sold abroad. The actual dedicated art market in Pakistan is great, but extremely small. My collectors really appreciate my work and most of them are dedicated towards investing in new forms of art and fresh young artists! But in terms of how the art industry works in Pakistan, we have a longway to go. Leading art galleries in Pakistan are terrible at marketing and their websites are outdated.They donâ€™t provide any help or guidance to the newcomers! They run on for the rich by the rich policy. Public is not involved, there is no government backing! A lot needs to change, but there are some platforms doing a great job and bringing that change. My Art World in Islamabad is a great example, I love their business model. If you could give one piece of advice to upcoming artists, what would it be? Donâ€™t fall into the pressure of doing things a certain way! You have to pave your own path. Focus more on developing your body of work in quality. Art is not just a creative outlet, once you get into it you learn that it is a business and the industry is very cut throat! Overnight success is possible but it is always short lived. Aim for the bigger picture, develop yourself as a brand! Are there any projects you're working on that we hope to see in the future? Yes, very soon!

Where did you choose to go and why? Since i planned to go to Russia first, i picked Ukraine because of proximity.. My choice of city hinged upon Odessa being a major summer destination. Also Ukraine has been on my travel list for a couple of years.
