Since the crochet details were the main feature in this outfit, we added simple accessories like the black Bottega clutch and strappy black heels to keep the look from getting too busy. The pearl and diamond earrings were intended to keep the look classy and sophisticated, making it ideal for an evening look. I paired the shirt with the high- low flared pants from Mehak Adil's latest western collection to add a bit of spunk.

This pleated peplum shirt is perfect for both a daytime or nighttime look. To make it more daytime, we went for white pearl tussle earrings to contrast with the subtly ivory hues of the outfit. Again, as with the other outfits, we wanted the outfits to stand out rather than the accessories, so we choose nude heels that lightly complement the outfit, leaving the main focus on the pleats and bejeweled belt.

I paired the black ruffles top from Mehak Adil's new collection with the silver high-low flares to up the glam factor and create a chic look. We used the earrings to add a pop of color and a silver cuff to match the pants. I opted for black feels to balance the top and pants and to let the pants stand out.

MATH
As the CEO of Spirit of Math, what's your take on education and how is your programme any different? The purpose of education is to provide knowledge, skills, and a way of thinking that will prepare people for the future. The world has changed at a rate that has never been seen before in history and consequently people are wondering what to teach students and how to teach them. This exponential change will continue and therefore it is very hard for any country to determine what education is needed. What is constant, though, is that people must have the ability to think logically, work with mathematics, find information, be able to communicate properly and be able to work with others. If taught properly, mathematics can do all of these things, and that is what Spirit of Math is doing. This program is not just teaching number facts, or procedures, nor is it just about allowing students to have freedom to come up with what ever they think is the answer. Spirit of Math has a disciplined approach to develop a sense of discovery while developing a very high level of skill sets.
School today lack creativity and logical reasoning; how will 'Spirit of Math' explore and challenge students to utilize their maximum abilities while ensuring productive learning? The Spirit of Math programme has been designed in such a way that students are introduced to logical thinking in a concrete way through mini stories when they are young. The same type of thinking is used each year, with greater complexity while integrating more and more mathematics. In addition, our program has 4 elements that are a foundation to our teaching and happen in every lesson. These 4 elements are drills, deep core curriculum, problem solving and cooperative group work. The creativity is integral to answering many of our problems. Students, however can’t be very creative without skills, so we combine both. In your opinion what abilities would this programme inculcate in young students? Our students develop skills in mathematics, and they also develop other skills that they report to having helped them in all areas of their lives. In mathematics, we take our time ensuring that students have a very strong foundation in numeracy up to class 5. This allows students to work with a high level of complexity with numbers. Consequently when the concepts get tougher to understand, they can focus on the concepts rather than how to work with the numbers, as that has already been developed. In addition, in our program students develop an automaticity and fluency of number facts. The intensive problem solving has been created to get kids to think outside the box, and in fact, they must answer questions without using the linear thinking of algebra for many years before they are allowed to use algebra. In the end, students have the ability to think independently, to listen to the thinking of others, to communicate well and to be able to do advanced mathematics with a proper understanding, not just a memorization of procedures. How is education changing in today's globalized world and is the change positive? 50

There have been many good ideas in education and just as many bad ones. Because we are now a globalized world in which ideas can be shared by anyone around the globe in a split second, the major issue is information overload – and therefore, the ability to discern and identify good ideas is a necessary skill for educators. Education is just like any other field that is influenced by marketing and media: the shiny new product or service gets a lot of attention – in education it is the “splashy” new idea, regardless of its effectiveness that often gets the attention of book publishers and the general public. In mathematics the idea of creative, non-disciplined discovery took over the pedagogy in many countries, and I believe it has created some different thinking, but at the same time it went to an extreme and caused a huge problem. Just as those people who are only sticking to rote learning as the way to learn, anything to an extreme is a problem. A program and the teachers must be balanced and well thought out. People must take notice as to what is truly working – not what just looks good. I am looking forward to seeing how artificial intelligence can help us all see the real patterns in good education and suggest changes that we haven’t even thought of yet. What are the main features which distinguish your course from the mainstream Math taught in Pakistan’s educational sector? People often ask me if we match the curriculum that the students are being taught in school – if we are ahead of the regular curriculum, or if we are using the Canadian curriculum or the Pakistani curriculum. We have developed our own curriculum which is not like any other curriculum out there, consequently, we have been able to create a program that helps to develop a child’s thinking, challenges them to new heights and shows them how not to fear taking risks, or not to be too frightened to get something wrong. In some situations people say we are a grade, or two, or three ahead – but I tend to disagree, because they may be only looking at the topics we are introducing to the students. In fact, it is the thinking and skills that I am concerned about. If they have the right thinking and skills, then it doesn’t matter what topic you cover with the students – they will be able to easily and quickly master it. How will spirit of Math bring change in the existing teaching methods? Having watched a couple of classes here in Pakistan it was clear that rote learning is still very prevalent. This is the easiest method to use for teachers, as it is very much a one-way directional learning. In other words, the teacher is the centre of knowledge, the books test the knowledge and the students just learn how to be “intake agents”. I don’t know how else to describe it! What we are going to do is to teach the teachers how to “pull” ideas out of the kids to make them active learners who shouldn’t just wait for someone to tell them what to do. There is a time for a teacher to tell kids, but in reality, in a lesson, only about 2% of it is new – the rest of the information is already known by the students. The teacher has to lead their thinking, then consolidate and finally challenge their thinking. Other students in the class are also a huge part of this learning. Therefore, teachers are not the centre of the universe of learning. We will teach teachers how to work in this new way.

What a gorgeous dupatta! I love the attention to detail in all the pieces I wore but this dupatta has my heart. I lightly pinned my blow dried hair to one side and chose a black Gucci bag and dull gold spiked Louboutins to match.
What a gorgeous outfit to wear out to dinner! I think this is probably the most beautiful embroidery I've ever seen on lawn. I gave my self a voluminous blow out, wore a peach lip color, simple black patent leather Louboutins and carried a green Bottega that I thought complemented the rich colors of the embroidery perfectly.

My day style has to be fuss free! I love the way the pants were stitched with a front opening - looked great with both flats and heels. For my day look, I half tied by hair back, grabbed my favourite black Chanel shoppers tote and put on flat black pumps.
