Nordic International School (NIS) is an upcoming school in Lahore with roots in Sweden. Simple but engaging activities that stimulate the creative thinking process should be part of the daily routine. For example: questioning questioning and more questioning. Each student is encouraged to find unique and creative solutions to tasks. starting the day with a short burst of questions about unusual objects or ideas, . There are so many ways to be a creative and innovator thinker – its all up to the imagination of the teacher and how he/she structures the learning experience. How is education changing in today’s globalized world? With the world being brought closer together by ease of travel, information access and multi media it is now imperative for children to be able to analyze and use what they see, hear and read wisely. At the core of learning is developing. skills that prepare students to think about issues critically so that the best decisions and choices can be made, skills that develop the capacity to work together as a team to achieve a goal or solve a problem, skills in being confident about expressing ideas and listening to others; cross cultural awareness and empathy for others. These go along way to laying the groundwork in future global networks What extracurricular activities is NIS offering? This is offered through a series of Clubs offered which include languages, arts, crafts, sports, robotics, drama. New and different clubs are offered according the interests of the students and families.

Travelling is great fun. You get to explore a new place, meet new people and get wiser! We want to know more and will share with you exciting travel stories from a few special people in our section, planes, trains & automobiles! Where did you choose to go and why? I went to Bali, we were shooting the spring summer 2017 Nishat Linen campaign with the wonderful and ever bright Guddu Shani team, with everyone who had decided that Bali was the perfect summer destination. While it was freezing in Lahore, Bali was windy, sunny, and overall perfect. Who did you travel with? I travelled with Saheefa Jabbar Khattak, Rehmat Ajmal, Alina Tauseef, Samiha Khan, and the rest of the team of Guddu Shani at 360 Degrees including Haiya Bokhari, Batool Adil, Usama Bilal, Mandana Zaidi and Adil Ishaq. Where did you stay? We stayed in 2 different cities in Bali. The first place was a beautiful hotel- Jungle Retreat in Ubud located in the heart of the "jungle"

The second place was a private villa named Atas Ombak in Seminyak. The villa had its own private beach =D What are the best shopping spots there? Best shopping spots are Bali's local markets and art shops because that’s the place where you find all the local culture, their clothes, handicrafts and jewellery are drenched in art and every piece is worth capturing in memory or in film. Suggest some amazing restaurants there? We ate at our own villa most of the times and the food was prepared by qualified chefs. All sorts of sea food-lobsters, squid, prawns. Only once when we did eat out, that too at an awesome Indian restaurant named Ganesha in Ubud.

Tell us about the sights no one should miss out on. To be honest, tourist spots are a must visit, but overall the entire ambiance and scenery that Bali provides is quite enough for someone like me who was travelling for the first time. Everything was breath taking, beauty is in the little details. Otherwise some of my favourite spots at Bali were the Rice terraces, the monkey sanctuary, the beaches and the dance schools.

Suggest places for a perfect night out For me the perfect night out would be at the beach in a gazebo with my friends, maybe having dinner and some soothing music. For others the night life of Bali is very happening, so it depends on what your perfect definition of a night out is. What can you do over there to relax and unwind? After a tiring day, the best way to unwind would be a foot massage, or curl up on the beach with a good book, or your favourite music and good thoughts. It honestly just depends what makes you feel good, and sometimes the view is just enough.

Finally, any tips? Travel light, don’t pack a lot of stuff as u will be tempted to buy alot of their local handicrafts. Also, their currency is very different from Pakistani currency so an exchange app in the phone would be helpful
