AKISTAN and Lebanon on Tuesday agreed to further strengthen cooperation in security, counterterrorism, anti-narcotics efforts, immigration management and cybercrime prevention, with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar holding detailed talks on enhancing coordination between their interior ministries. Lebanese Interior Minister Ahmad AlHajjar arrived at the Ministry of Interior, where he was received by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. The two ministers first held a one-on-one meeting, followed by delegation-level talks attended by senior officials from both countries.

Pakistan and Lebanon on Tuesday agreed to strengthen cooperation in internal security, intelligence sharing, counter-terrorism and law enforcement, as Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reaffirmed Islamabad’s steadfast support for Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity. Mr Dar conveyed the commitment during a meeting with Lebanese Inte-
rior Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar at the Foreign Office, where the two sides also discussed bilateral relations and regional and international developments of mutual interest. According to the Foreign Office, the two ministers expressed a desire to further expand bilateral ties, particularly in law enforcement and people-to-people contacts. They welcomed the signing of an agreement on the Transfer of Sentenced Persons, describing it as an important milestone in bilateral legal cooperation.

Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Federal Interior Secretary, the Chairman of NADRA, the Director General of FIA, the Director General of ANF, the Inspector General of Federal Constabulary, the National Coordinator of NACTA, the Director General of Passports and Immigration, the Chief Commissioner Islamabad, the Inspector General of Islamabad Police, the Director General of the National Forensic Agency, special secretaries, additional secretaries and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Pakistan, Indonesia navies agree to enhance maritime cooperation ISLAMABAD

Chief of the Indonesian Navy Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali called on Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf at Naval Headquarters on Monday, with the two sides discussing regional maritime security and ways to further strengthen bilateral naval cooperation. On arrival at Naval Headquarters, Admiral Dr Muhammad Ali was presented a Guard of Honour and laid a floral wreath at the Shuhada
Monument. During the meeting, the naval chiefs exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, regional maritime security and bilateral cooperation. Both sides reaffirmed their resolve to enhance collaboration through training programmes, reciprocal visits and joint naval exercises. The visiting dignitary appreciated the Pakistan Navy’s efforts towards promoting maritime security and stability in the region.

Dar pushes Pakistan-US engagement, Islamabad MoU implementation to defuse tensions ISLAMABAD

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday appreciated the positive trajectory in Pakistan-US relations and stressed the need for regular engagement on issues of mutual interest during a call on by US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie A. Baker, according to the Foreign Office (FO). In a statement on X, the FO said the meeting focused on Pakistan-US bilateral cooperation and recent regional developments. The deputy prime minister underscored the importance of dialogue and diplomacy for lasting peace. Referring to the upcoming 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the DPM/FM noted that Pakistan’s delegation would be led by the prime minister. DPM, IAEA DG stress implementation of Islamabad MoU to defuse tensions Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar spoke with Ambassador Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and candidate for United Nations Secretary-General, according to the Foreign Office. During the telephonic discussion late Monday night, the two discussed the evolving regional situation and agreed that implementation of the Islamabad MoU between the United States and Iran remained the best course of action to defuse tensions, the FO said in a post on X. Ambassador Grossi offered technical support should the need arise during the call.
