scattered everywhere. Within just four hours, the enemy sought a ceasefire,” he said. The prime minister remarked that despite the passage of a year, India had failed to present any evidence regarding the Pahalgam incident. “Operation Bunyanum Marsoos stands as a historic military success, a glorious victory and a manifestation of our national pride, courage and restraint,” he said. PM Shehbaz Sharif announced that May 10 would officially be observed every year as “Marka-e-Haq Day”, to be celebrated nationwide with enthusiasm and national spirit,

though without a public holiday. “I salute every young officer and soldier of Pakistan who are heirs to the blood of our martyrs and guardians of our glorious traditions,” he said. “I also salute the entire nation, which became a shining example of faith, unity and discipline.” The prime minister paid special tribute to Field Marshal Asim Munir, saying his “wise and courageous leadership” during the conflict would be remembered “in golden words”. “Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, I and the entire nation salute you,” he said.

RIME Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday paid glowing tribute to the leadership of Pakistan’s armed forces, led by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir, for demonstrating “exemplary courage and valour” during Markae-Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and defeating what he termed the enemy’s “nefarious designs” in May 2025. Addressing a ceremony held at the Pakistan Monument to mark the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq Bunyanum Marsoos, the prime minister said India used the Pahalgam incident as a pretext to launch aggression against Pakistan, despite Islamabad exercising restraint to prevent escalation. He said Pakistan had warned the enemy of the consequences of confrontation and had also offered a transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident. “But the cowardly enemy, as always, launched an unannounced war on Pakistan under the cover of darkness by targeting our mosques, children and innocent citizens,” the prime minister said. “Pakistan’s armed forces responded with historic force and determination,” he added. “Our brave soldiers entered the battlefield while our falcons dominated the skies. destruction at the checkpost, where a total of 18 police personnel were present at the time of the attack. According to the DIG, 15 personnel embraced martyrdom while three sustained injuries. Rescue teams immediately launched an operation at the site and managed to pull three police officers alive from the rubble before continuing search and rescue efforts through the night. Police said that following the explosion, terrorists launched a coordinated assault on the checkpoint, opening heavy fire and attacking from multiple directions. Multiple blasts were heard in the area, triggering fear and panic among local residents. “During the assault, the militants used quadcopters along with heavy weaponry,” a senior administrative official in Bannu told AFP on condition of anonymity. Police sources said communication with the Fateh Khel police post

was briefly lost following the attack. Bannu police identified the martyred personnel as Rehmat Ayaz, Sanaullah, Niaz Ali (driver), Habib, Saadullah Jan (driver), Kamran, son of Khan Sikandar, Kamran, Noorullah, Kamran, Abid Jani, Imran, Kaleemullah, Sadiqullah, Munir Alam Khan, Rahatullah Khan and Farooq. The injured were identified as Mujrim Feroz, Hayatullah and Qadarullah. The powerful blast also destroyed an armoured vehicle stationed at the checkpoint, while nearby buildings suffered extensive damage due to the intensity of the explosion. An emergency was declared in local hospitals following the attack. DIG Sajjad Khan visited the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital late Saturday night to inquire about the condition of the injured personnel and review the medical treatment being provided.

Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir on Sunday warned that any future “misadventure” against Pakistan would invite extremely “dangerous, far-reaching and painful” consequences for the enemy. “Our enemies should know that if any attempt is made in the future to carry out a misadventure against Pakistan, then the impact of war would not be limited, but extremely widespread, dangerous, far-reaching and painful,” Field Marshal Munir said while addressing the main ceremony marking the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.

The conflict with India — spanning from the April 22 Pahalgam attack to the conclusion of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos with a ceasefire on May 10 — has been termed “Marka-eHaq” (Battle of Truth) by the state. Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf were also present on the occasion. At the outset of

his speech, the army chief said the day was a “source of pride” for Pakistan, its people, and the armed forces. He recalled that the “enemy attempted to test Pakistan’s resolve by violating its sovereignty and territorial integrity” between the midnight of May 6/7 and May 10, adding that the response came “with full national unity and military force.”
