S President Donald Trump on Tuesday accused both Israel and Iran of violating a ceasefire he brokered just hours earlier, singling out Israel for its renewed military action against Tehran. Shortly after departing the White House for a NATO summit in The Hague, Trump posted a strongly worded message on his Truth Social platform, warning Israel against further escalation. “Israel. Do not drop those bombs. If you do it, it is a major violation. Bring your pilots home, now!” he wrote. Before boarding, he told reporters he was “not happy” with either side for violating the truce, particularly with Israel. “I’ve got to get Israel to calm down now,” Trump said as he left the White House. “Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs, the likes of which I’ve never seen before, the biggest load that we’ve seen.” Iran and Israel had been fighting “so long and so hard that they don’t know what they’re doing,” he said before turning away from cameras and heading to his helicopter. Tehran denies missile fire as Israel launches retaliatory strikes Iran has firmly denied Israeli claims that
it violated the recently agreed ceasefire, rejecting reports that it launched missile attacks following the truce. State media labelled the accusations as false and unfounded. “Iran denies reports that it fired a missile at Israel after the ceasefire began,” state television said. The semi-official ISNA news agency, citing no source, posted on Telegram: “The news that Iran fired missiles at the occupied territories after imposing a ceasefire on the Zionist regime is denied.” Iranians chant slogans and wave national flags as they celebrate a ceasefire between Iran and Israel at Enghlab Square in the cap-

ital Tehran, Iran, June 24. — AFP State-affiliated Nour News also issued a similar denial, reinforcing Tehran’s stance that it is adhering to the truce. The denial came as Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz has ordered a forceful military response, directing strikes on key regime targets in Tehran. The order came after the Israeli military detected a missile launch from Iran on Tuesday, triggering air raid sirens in northern Israel, just hours after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Israel’s acceptance of a US-proposed ceasefire. missile launches after agreeing to the ceasefire, according to the state broadcaster IRIB and ISNA news agency. Two soldiers were martyred and 11 Indian-sponsored khwarij were killed in a fire exchange with the security forces during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in the general area of Sararogha, South Waziristan district, according to the military’s media wing on Tuesday. In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said, “Security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the general area of Sararogha, South Waziristan District, on the reported presence of Khwarij belonging to Indian proxy Fitna al-Khwarij. During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged the khwarij location, and resultantly, eleven Indian-sponsored khwarij were sent to hell, while seven Khwarij got injured.” “However, during the intense fire exchange, Major Syed Moiz Abbas Shah (age: 37 years, resident of District Chakwal), a brave officer who was leading his troops from the front, fought gallantly and paid the ultimate sacrifice along with another brave son of soil, Lance Naik Jibran Ullah (age: 27 years, resident of District Bannu),” it added. actions in numerous operations conducted against the khwarij.” “Sanitization operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored khariji found in the area, as the security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe out the menace of Indiansponsored terrorism from the country, and such sacrifices of our brave men further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR added. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid rich tribute to the martyred soldiers for bravely fighting against the enemy during the operation. “Major Syed Moiz Abbas and Lance Naik Jibranullah sacrificed their lives for the secure future of the nation. They are true heroes who thwarted the malicious plans of Indian-backed terrorists and
eliminated 11 militants,” Naqvi said in a statement. The interior minister added that “these martyrs gave their lives to deliver a strong message to the enemy and are a proud example of bravery for the nation. Their heroic sacrifice will always be remembered by the people.” Earlier this month, five terrorists were killed during operations in KP’s Peshawar and North Waziristan districts, with the military terming them “Indian-sponsored” ones. ISPR Director General Lt-Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry had also accused India of activating its “assets” to intensify terrorist attacks in Pakistan, presenting “irrefutable evidence” of Indian state-sponsored terrorism directed by Indian military personnel.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif on Tuesday strongly condemned the Israeli aggression towards Iran and criticized the Western world’s “double standard,” saying that the International Atomic Energy Agency’s (IAEA) performance was “tainted with hypocrisy and a selective approach.” “Unlike Iran, the West has destroyed the opportunity for diplomacy and is the cause of the beginning of the aggressions of the Zionist regime and the United States,” Defense Czar Kh Asif stated in an interview with an Iranian state-run news agency, IRNA, in Islamabad. He described Iran’s approach as “very constructive,” saying Tehran never sought confrontation. “Israel wanted to overshadow the region to push the situation towards war,” he added. He added that “a regime that is not even a member of the NPT and there is no monitoring and inspection of its nuclear arsenals can do anything and has the authorization to carry out any aggression and attack on Palestine, Gaza, Yemen and now against Iran.” “All these countries are the targets of these deliberate and reckless actions of Tel Aviv, which is not held accountable by the IAEA,” Asif further said. He condemned Israel’s “terrorist attacks and the US aggressive crime against Iran’s nuclear facilities”, considering these actions contrary to international law, the UN Charter, and humanitarian norms. “I think the situation has escalated to a dangerous level, especially over the past few weeks when Iran continuously emphasised the need for negotiations and participation in this entire process, and that the Iranians have never left the negotiating table,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA.

A buying frenzy gripped the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday, with the benchmark KSE-100 Index posting a record rally of 6,079 points — a 5.23% jump — after former US President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel. The benchmark closed at 122,246.63, recovering nearly all losses from the previous session when geopolitical tensions triggered a steep selloff. The KSE-100 had dropped 3,855 points on Monday amid fears of a broader conflict following US military action in Iran. “This marks the second-highest singleday increase in points at close,” said brokerage house Arif Habib Limited (AHL), which credited the recovery to improving geopolitical sentiment and a concurrent 3–4%
drop in global oil prices. Trading was briefly halted for one hour earlier in the day when the KSE-30 index jumped by more than 5%, triggering the PSX’s circuit breaker mechanism. Activity resumed at 12:31pm, with across-the-board gains seen in index-heavy sectors, including banks, oil and gas, autos, and power. Stocks such as OGDC, PPL, POL, HUBCO, UBL, and PSO traded firmly in the green, buoyed by easing external risk and improving investor confidence. Research heads at both AHL and JS Global attributed the surge to the de-escalation in the Middle East conflict and a positive outlook on Pakistan’s external financing prospects. Pakistan expects $3.3 billion in upcoming foreign inflows — including Chinese commercial refinancing — which analysts believe could lift the central bank’s reserves above $14 billion by the end of FY25.
PIA resumes Gulf operations after ceasefire eases regional airspace restrictions PROFIT
staff report
Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumed scheduled flight operations to Gulf countries on Tuesday, following reports of a ceasefire between Iran and Israel that helped ease regional airspace restrictions. “PIA flight operations to Gulf/KSA countries are resumed as of 12:30 PST,” the airline posted on X (formerly Twitter), confirming the restoration of routes that were suspended a day earlier due to security concerns. According to the airline’s spokesperson,
the resumption includes multiple delayed flights from Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, and Multan to destinations including Dammam, Madinah, Sharjah, Dubai, Doha, Jeddah, and Abu Dhabi. Delays ranged from seven to fifteen hours depending on the route, and return flights are also expected to experience knock-on delays. PIA had grounded its Gulf-bound operations on Monday after rising military tensions in the Middle East raised concerns over civilian air traffic safety. The move disrupted travel plans for hundreds of passengers. The suspension followed the temporary closure of Iranian airspace amid mis-
sile exchanges and retaliatory threats between Iran and Israel. A ceasefire brokered overnight was confirmed by U.S. President Donald Trump on his social platform, stating, “THE CEASEFIRE IS NOW IN EFFECT. PLEASE DO NOT VIOLATE IT!” PIA reassured passengers that safety remains its highest priority and has advised customers to stay updated through its call centre or website. Separately, the airline deployed a special aircraft from Peshawar to Ashgabat to retrieve Pakistani citizens stranded due to earlier flight disruptions.
