IRECTOR General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry on Sunday firmly said that no one should have any doubt that whenever Pakistan’s sovereignty is threatened or its territorial integrity violated, the response will be comprehensive, retributive, and decisive. Addressing a press conference along with the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) Vice Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, he said, “No one should have any doubt that whenever our sovereignty would be threatened and territorial integrity violated, the response would be comprehensive, retributive and decisive.” While sharing the details of Bunyam Marsoos operation, he said, 26 military targets as well as facilities that were used to target Pakistani citizens and those enterprises that were responsible for fo-

menting terrorism in Pakistan were engaged in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and also mainland India. “The targets included Air Force and aviation bases at Suratgarh, Sirsa, Adampur, Bhuj, Nalia, Bathinda, Barnala, Harwara, Avantipura, Srinagar, Jammu, Mamoon, Ambala, Udampur and Pathankot — all of which sustained major damages”, he detailed. He added that BrahMos facilities, which had fired missiles in Pakistan and killed innocent civilians, were also destroyed.

He said that S-400 battery system at Adhampur and Bhuj was also attacked by proud Pakistan Air Force. “Military logistic and support sites which helped sustain this unlawful operation against innocent Pakistani civilians like field supply depot at Uri and radar station at Poonch were also targeted,” he added. He said, military command headquarters, which helped plan the operation killing of innocent citizens, including 10th and 80th Brigade at KG Top and Nowshera were destroyed.

Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif thanked US President Trump for his pathbreaking leadership and his “most valuable offer to play a greater role” in bringing lasting peace to South Asia. “Pakistan appreciates the United States for facilitating this outcome, which we have accepted in the interest of regional peace and stability. We also thank Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for their valuable contributions for peace in South Asia,” the prime minister posted on X (formerly Twitter) handle. He further said that Pakistan believed this marked a new beginning in the resolution of issues that had plagued the region and prevented its journey toward peace, prosperity and stability. stantially” with India and Pakistan. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed gratitude to US President Donald Trump for his invaluable offer to play a greater role in bringing lasting peace to South Asia. In a post on the social media platform X, he said Pakistan and the United States have been partners for decades, working closely to protect and promote their mutual interests, as well as to uphold peace and security in critical parts of the world. Expressing confidence in President Donald Trump, Shehbaz Sharif remarked that Pakistan has found a great partner who can reinvigorate the strategic partnership and further strengthen Pakistan-US ties, not only in trade and investment but across all areas of cooperation. On the other hand, Pakistan’s Foreign Office in a statement appreciated President Trump’s willingness to support efforts aimed at the resolution of the longstanding Jammu and Kashmir dispute that had serious

implications for peace and security in South Asia and beyond. "We acknowledge with appreciation the constructive role played by the United States, alongside other friendly states, in supporting the recent ceasefire understanding between Pakistan and India; a step towards de-escalation and regional stability," the statement mentioned. President Donald Trump on his Truth Social wall, a social media platform, had written that: "I am very proud of the strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership of India and Pakistan for having the strength, wisdom, and fortitude to fully know and understand that it was time to stop the current aggression that could have lead to the death and destruction of so many, and so much. Millions of good and innocent people could have died! Your legacy is greatly enhanced by your brave actions. I am proud that the USA was able to help you arrive at this historic and heroic decision."

During the meeting, the Afghan government under the Taliban called for “mutual respect and constructive engagement” with Pakistan and China, said the Afghan interior ministry statement. “Minister of Interior Khalifa Sirajuddin Haqqani emphasized the importance of strengthening regional ties, stating that, from the Islamic Emirate’s perspective, the advancement of economic and political relations, as well as regional understanding, can be achieved through mutual respect and constructive engagement,” the Afghan interior ministry said. It added that the special envoys of China and Pakistan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening good neighbourly relations and fostering cooperation with Afghanistan based on mutual engagement. They also agreed that the sixth round of the trilateral dialogue between the foreign ministers would be held in Kabul, continuing the established mechanism.

Separately, in a post on X, Ambassador Sadiq said: “The meeting aimed to follow up on the fifth trilateral dialogue between the foreign ministers of the three countries, held in Islamabad; prepare for the upcoming sixth ministerial round; and strengthen three-way political and economic cooperation.” “The delegations emphasized their commitment to good neighbourly relations, regional stability, mutual respect, and constructive engagement as foundations for stronger ties,” he added. Meeting with Afghan FM Separately, the Afghan Foreign Ministry said that Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi held a meeting in Kabul with the Pakistani and Chinese special envoys and their delegations. In a statement, the ministry said the meeting “focused on following up on the agenda of the fifth round of the Afghanistan-China-Pakistan Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue”.

China and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening good neighbourly relations and fostering cooperation with Afghanistan based on mutual engagement. They also agreed that the sixth round of the trilateral dialogue between the foreign ministers would be held in Kabul, continuing the established mechanism. The development comes after special envoys of Pakistan Mohammad Sadiq and China Yue Xiaoyong met Afghan Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani in Kabul, according to a statement issued by its interior ministry. The trilateral forum was established in 2017, with earlier meetings held in Beijing and the Afghan capital. Two policemen were martyred and two were injured on Sunday in a suicide attack in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s capital of Peshawar, while two terrorists killed and a policeman injured in a shootout with Lakki Marwat Police recuing three hostages, police officers confirmed. “Two policemen, including a sub-inspector, were martyred, and two were injured in a blast,” said Peshawar Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Qasim Khan. He added that a police mobile was targeted in the suicide attack, adding the attack took place near the Ring Road Mall Mandi area. Earlier in the day, a policeman was martyred in an exchange of fire after attackers threw a hand grenade near a mosque in Gwadar. Two terrorists killed as Lakki Marwat police rescue three hostages On the other hand, Lakki Marwat police on Sunday thwarted a kidnapping bid by terrorists in the Landewa Gorabai area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with three people rescued, two terrorists killed and a cop injured in the rescue operation, according to a senior police official. Faced with increasing attacks by militants, especially in KP and Balochistan, security forces have also intensified counterterrorism operations. Hanzala Khan, spokesperson for Bannu regional police officer (RPO) Sajjad Khan, informed the emdia that terrorists attempted to abduct three locals in the Landewa Gorobai area of Lakki Marwat.
