Inspiriert durch die Ikonen der nordamerikanischen Country-Music wie Chet Atkins, Merle Travis oder Doc Watson, und durch britische Balladen von John Renbourn, Bert Jansch oder Ralph McTell, nimmt Michel bis 1983 vier weitere Alben auf, die das geneigte Publikum das einzigartige Talent von Michel Haumont entdecken lassen. Starken Einfluss auf den jungen Musiker übte aber vor allem der französische Gitarrist Marcel Dadi aus, der in seinem Heimatland als Wegbereiter des Folk gilt und Michel sehr nahe stand.

In this anthology, Michel Haumont has collected 16 of his favourite pieces, providing an overview of his complete works.

Michel Haumont made his first record in 1974 at the age of 17, while the folk boom was at its height. The four albums which followed up til 1983 revealed him as an unusually talented acoustic guitarist, raised on a diet of North American country (Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Doc Watson) and British ballads (John Renbourn, Bert Jansch, Ralph McTell). In France this approach was first popularized by guitarist Marcel Dadi, to whom Michel was very close and who heavily influenced the young instrumentalist.

Une voie qu’avait commencé à défricher et à populariser dans l’Hexagone le guitariste français Marcel Dadi, dont Michel était très proche et qui influença largement le jeune instrumentiste.
