Since 2003, EKOBO has specialized in the design and manufacture of contemporary, eco-friendly tableware, serveware & accessories made from bamboo fiber and other sustainable materials.

Our collections have been thoughtfully developed for the needs of the hospitality industry. They embody a new vision which balances an innovative material, real functionality, and sophisticated design.

We offer a safer and more sustainable alternative to plastic and melamine dishware, which is also lighter and less fragile than traditional materials such as glass and ceramic.

OUR SIGNATURE MATERIAL IS A UNIQUE FORMULA WHICH HAS BEEN TRADEMARKED BIOBU®.

This trademark is our guarantee of safety and durability. Described as a biopolymer, our eco-composite is comprised of about half bamboo fiber, a highly renewable material, and half non-toxic food-grade binder, which helps to extend the life of the products (a sustainable practice!).

Our bamboo is responsibly-sourced and managed. It is collected as sawdust scraps from chopstick factories. Our material is stable, unchanging and poses absolutely no health risk with daily use, and is suitable for hot and cold foods and liquids.

Unlike traditional melamine, there is no varnish, coating nor paint on the surface of our products, so they’ll never fade, peel, leach harmful chemicals or shed microplastics. Our products feature a premium matte finish and they will maintain their appearance over time as it is the same material inside and out.

All BIOBU products undergo regular and rigorous testing. They comply to all food safety standards and are free of BPA, PVC, Phthalates, Lead, Cadmium and Mercury. They are manufactured with one partner factory that is BSCI compliant.
