AMBER ELLIS YOUR RESORT MANAGER

Fall is on the Way!
Welcome home! Whether you’re settling in, returning for the season, or have been part of our wonderful community all year long, we’re thrilled you’re here.
This is more than a place to live—it’s a place to thrive. Our neighborhood is built on connection, vitality, and the joy of living well. From yoga and water classes at the Resort Pool to pickleball matches, healthy eating and cooking demos, and socials under the stars, there’s always something happening to nourish your body and spirit.
We encourage you to dive into the wellness activities and events that make our community truly special. Check your calendar often and make sure to see the list of upcoming events in our Lifestyle emails on Thursdays so you don’t miss out on the fun. Participating isn’t just about staying active—it’s about staying connected with great neighbors who share your zest for life.
Here’s to new friendships, renewed energy, and a lifestyle you’ll love every day. We can’t wait to see you at our next event!
Sommer Lilja
YOUR WELLNESS ATTENDANT
We’re excited to welcome Sommer to the Esplanade family! Born in the Philippines and raised in Northern Pittsburgh, PA, Sommer spent most of her life in the Keystone State, with a few vibrant years in California before settling in Port St. Lucie for her husband’s career. While living on the West Coast, she attended the American Beauty Academy, earning her beauty license and launching a long and passionate journey in the beauty industry.
With over 15 years of experience, Sommer has served as a brand ambassador for various beauty companies and currently runs her own successful nail business, G3MS NAILS, from home. Known for her incredible nail artistry, she finds joy in helping others feel confident and beautiful. When she’s not working her magic with polish and design, Sommer is a devoted mom to five amazing kids and cherishes every moment spent with her family.
Sommer’s dream? To one day open her own salon. Until then, she’s thrilled to be part of the Esplanade community and is looking forward to meeting and connecting with our wonderful Members!

Wellness Reimagined: Habits That Quietly Transform Your Life
Wellness isn’t just green smoothies and yoga classes. It’s the tiny, often-overlooked choices that compound into something bigger—a clearer mind, a calmer body, a more connected self. Have you heard of any of these wellness practices? We encourage you to try one, or all of them, to help you recharge from the inside out and let us know what you think. No gimmicks, just real, sustainable impact.

SUN ANCHORING
Expose your eyes (no sunglasses!) to natural light within 30 minutes of waking up. Why? This helps regulate your circadian rhythm, boost mood, and improve sleep. Even 5–10 minutes counts.
SENSORY EATING
Once a day, eat without your phone, TV, or laptop. Smell the food. Feel the textures. Chew slowly. You will feel the results of better digestion, fuller satisfaction, and a surprising sense of calm.
JOURNAL BACKWARDS AT NIGHT
Forget the pressure of morning pages. Prime your brain for gratitude, self-trust, and better sleep each night by writing: three things that went right; two things you handled well; and one thing you’ll do with intention tomorrow.
True wellness is quiet. It doesn’t need an app or a 6-week plan. It lives in the little shifts—morning sun, deep breaths, unhurried dinners, kind self-talk. Try just one of these ideas this week and notice the ripple.

OCTOBER 4 , 202 5
Grab your VIP passes and join us for a high-energy event where the spirit of the 1980s rock scene comes alive! Dance the night away to iconic rock anthems, enjoy live performances, and show off your best '80s rock attire. With neon lights, retro decor, and themed cocktails, this is a night of nostalgia and fun you won't want to miss.

Meet Kash
LOVED BY LYNN & JAMES LOVETT
Kash, the Golden Doodle with a golden heart, is the newest member of the Lovett family and a fluffy bundle of joy who immediately stole their hearts. Born into less-than-ideal circumstances, he was one of several puppies rescued from a rural breeding operation by the dedicated volunteers at Golden Rescue South Florida, an organization committed to giving golden retrievers and their doodle cousins a second chance at a loving home. The rescue stepped in, working tirelessly to ensure Kash, his littermates, and his mom were brought safety. After a long journey from Ohio to sunny South Florida, he was vetted, vaccinated and ready for his new fur-ever home.
At 12 weeks old (as of this writing), he’s already mastered the art of fetching his favorite squeaky toy and curling up for naps in the most unexpected places. His golden doodle charm, caramel-colored fur and soulful brown eyes, and a perfect blend of a golden retriever’s loyalty and a poodle’s intelligence, make every day an adventure.
Kash’s story is a testament to the power of rescue organizations like Golden Rescue South Florida. Without their efforts, this little pup might not have found his way to our home. The Lovett Family is grateful for the chance to give Kash the life he deserves, filled with belly rubs, walks, playing at the Esplanade Bark Park and all the treats a puppy could dream of. He’s certainly keeping these two seniors young at heart. To learn more about Golden Rescue South Florida or to support their mission, visit their website at GRSF. com. Who knows? You might just find your own Kash waiting for a forever home.

Robert Cox
The Members of our community are truly what make this a wonderful place to live. In each edition, we will spotlight a Member, couple or family to showcase the amazing people that call our community home.

Watch a Bat Ballet
We’re thrilled to shine the spotlight on one of our friendly and fun-loving Members, Robert Cox.
Robert has called Florida home for the past three years and he couldn’t be happier to be here. When he’s not enjoying the sunshine, you can often find him casting a line in Fort Pierce, indulging in his favorite pastime, fishing. Whether it’s the thrill of the catch or the peace of the water, Robert is right at home on the coast.
Back at the community, Robert is also known for his skills at the pool table. If there’s a game going on, chances are he’s in the middle of the action—sharp-eyed and steady-handed. He has also started a new club, the “Port St. Lucie Chapter of the Tora, Tora, Tora, Kamikaze, Fish, Game, Bloody Mary and Labrador Retriever Benevolent Association,” so if you enjoy the outdoors, sharing fish stories, or just enjoying the camaraderie of neighbors, make sure to join today.
We’re so lucky to have Robert as part of our community. His friendly nature and love for the outdoors make him a great neighbor and friend. Be sure to say hello next time you see him around!
If you would like to be featured, please answer the following questions and send some fun photos to your Lifestyle team. Why did you choose Esplanade at Tradition? Are you a full-time Member? If not, where else do you spend your time? What Lifestyle programs are you most interested in? Tell us your hobbies. Tell us about your family/pets and your current or past professions. What is the best advice you’ve ever received or given? Where is the most exciting place you’ve traveled to and what made it so memorable? Tell us something about yourself that may surprise people.
Did you know bats make great neighbors? Bats are the only flying mammal in the world—and they’re fantastic neighbors! These nighttime flyers can eat hundreds of mosquitoes in an hour and often swoop through backyards, over ponds, or near streetlights at dusk. With more than 40 bat species in the U.S., you might spot a few outside your doorstep. Want to help local wildlife like these pollinators thrive? Try adding a bat house to your yard! For wildlife and bat watching tips, visit thegreenhour.org/activity/watch-a-bat-ballet. The photo is a native species of bat called the lesser long-nosed bat. Photo credit: Sandra Rothenberg.

Beyond the Basics
Underrated Fitness Tips That Actually Work
We’ve all heard the staples of a solid fitness routineexercise regularly, drink water, stretch more, but what if you’re already doing those and still feel like you’re hitting a plateau? It might be time to dive deeper. Here are three lesserknown yet powerful fitness strategies to help you unlock next-level results, physically and mentally:
1. GREASE THE GROOVE
Instead of maxing out in a single workout, try doing submaximal reps of a movement (e.g., 3–5 pull-ups) multiple times a day. This builds strength through frequent, low-fatigue practice, ideal for bodyweight skills like push-ups, squats, and handstands.
2. STRENGTHEN YOUR FEET
Flat, weak feet can affect everything from your squat form to your balance. Try training barefoot (safely), toe spreads, towel grabs, or balance drills. Bonus: This also helps improve posture and injury prevention.
3. USE CONTRAST SHOWERS
Alternate 1 minute cold with 2 minutes of hot water post-workout to reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and boost recovery. Plus, it builds mental resilience, a win-win!
Don’t forget to use music as a performance tool by selecting songs with tempos based on your goal. Syncing movement to rhythm subtly improves endurance and motivation.
» Slow: Mobility or cooldown
» Medium: Steady-state cardio
» High-energy: HIIT, heavy lifting

The Power of Ritual Breath
Before a treatment at The Spa begins, take three deep, intentional breaths—inhale peace, exhale tension. Why? This shifts your body from “fight or flight” into “rest and receive”—amplifying the effects of every product and touch. In high-end spa culture, breathwork is quietly emerging as one of the most powerful tools for deepening relaxation, enhancing treatment efficacy, and creating a sense of sacred ritual. It’s not a technique reserved for yogis or meditation retreats—it’s something your spa can offer in just 60 seconds, with profound impact.
Most guests arrive at a spa carrying the weight of their day—mental to-do lists, digital noise, emotional fatigue. Even the most luxurious treatment can be diluted if the guest’s nervous system is still in “go mode.” Breath is the fastest bridge between the busy mind and the receptive body. When guided through intentional breathing, guests begin to shift from sympathetic (fight-or-flight) dominance into parasympathetic (rest-and-digest) mode. This shift: enhances oxygen delivery to tissues; lowers cortisol levels; increases
receptivity to touch and energy work; and deepens presence and emotional release.
You don’t need a full breathwork session- just 60–90 seconds of conscious breath, woven seamlessly into the beginning of a treatment, can set the tone for everything that follows. This isn’t about adding another step—it’s about honoring a moment. When breath becomes the opening ceremony of a treatment, the guest enters a different state of consciousness. They feel seen, safe, and centered. And when the breath is honored as the first touch, the real healing begins.
“Your breath is your anchor. Your breath is your invitation to arrive.” Let’s not overlook it. Let’s elevate it.
