Letter From the Lifestyle Team

Spring is in the Air!

Spring has sprung in Port St. Lucie and there’s no better time to get out, get active, and enjoy everything our community has to offer! March and April are packed with fitness classes, clubs, and special events, so whether you’re ready to relax with a paint and sip class, enjoy a baseball game down the street, or have a laugh at our April Fools Comedy Show, we’ve got plenty of ideas for you. It’s a fantastic season to meet new friends, reconnect with neighbors, and soak up that warm Florida sun together.

For our new Members, whether you’ve just signed your contract or closed on your home, make sure to stop by and chat with our Lifestyle team. You can pick up a complementary 7-day fitness class pass at the front desk along with the class schedule and a list of clubs and upcoming events. They will also share the monthly meetings with you (Esplanade 101 is highly recommended) and important information to help you navigate your new homeowner’s association.

Don’t forget to treat yourself while you’re at it! Swing by the Toasted Café for something sweet or The Spa for some well-earned pampering (p.s. we’ve heard the ThermaHerbal poultice is incredible with a massage), lounge by the pool with a good book, or explore the amenities that make our Resort Lifestyle so special. Your enthusiasm is what keeps this community buzzing, and I can’t wait to see you out enjoying every moment of this beautiful spring season!

CJ Anderson

MAINTENANCE ATTENDANT

He is a proud husband and father of two—one boy and one girl—and enjoys putting his expertise to work to keep our community running smoothly. We’re excited to have CJ as part of the team!

Healthy Living

Warm Basalt Stones

Warm basalt stones are popular in massage therapy for their ability to retain heat and deliver deep, soothing warmth. This heat relaxes tight muscles, reduces stiffness, and allows the therapist to work more effectively without excessive pressure—making the experience both therapeutic and comfortable. The warmth also expands blood vessels, improving circulation and increasing the flow of oxygen to muscles and tissues. As a result, recovery is supported and post-massage soreness may be reduced. In addition, heat can gently stimulate the lymphatic system, encouraging the body’s natural detoxification process.

Beyond physical benefits, basalt stones provide powerful stress relief. Their steady warmth calms the nervous system, helping ease

Living healthy isn’t about perfection, it’s about small, kind choices you make every day. Nourish your body, move with joy, rest well, and care for your mind. These simple habits don’t just add years to your life, they add life to your years. The following are 10 rules to incorporate in your daily routine for living healthy and longer:

» Balanced nutrition

» Regular physical activity

» Maintaining a healthy weight

» Stress management

» Quality sleep

» Medical check-ups

» Hobbies and leisure activities

» Mental health care

» Social connections

» Avoid or limit toxins, such as smoking and alcohol

anxiety and promote deep relaxation. They are especially helpful for relieving chronic tension and discomfort in the back, neck, and shoulders, making them an excellent choice for both relaxation and pain management. For more information or to book your service at The Spa, call 772-254-9850.

Furry Friends

Meet Marlee

LOVED BY KELLIE YOUNG

Born on December 4, 2024, Marlee is a bundle of joy and endless entertainment. She is extremely friendly, adores people, and has a special fondness for her four-legged friends. True to her playful spirit, Marlee often flops down like a little rug whenever someone new shows her attention, whether it’s at home or out and about!

Energetic and full of personality, Marlee loves to play for hours on end. She might be a bit high maintenance (we joke that she could easily be a Kardashian!), but she knows exactly what she likes. After testing several fancy food options and rejecting them all, she has finally found her favorite in The Farmer’s Dog.

Marlee is also quite the traveler! She’s already racked up seven flights this year, with an eighth one on the horizon, earning her the title of “frequent flyer.” Just recently, she stole the show on the Seaside Heights, NJ, Boardwalk, happily soaking up the attention of passersby. Full of charm and always ready for her next adventure, Marlee can’t wait to meet you!

The Members of our community are truly what make this a wonderful place to live. Stretching

Until a few years ago, stretching was only a complement to other sports. Many used to do stretching exercises at the end of training for a few minutes, without understanding its exact purpose. Today, it has become an autonomous physical activity, fundamental for the maintenance of a loose and relaxed state of flexibility and body mobility.

DIFFERENT WAYS OF STRETCHING

Static Stretching (most beneficial after exercise): Involves slowly stretching a muscle to the point of mild tension and holding the position for a period (usually 15–60 seconds).

Dynamic Stretching (ideal before physical activity): Uses controlled, smooth movements that take joints and muscles through their full range of motion without holding the stretch.

Ballistic Stretching: Involves rapid, bouncing movements that push a muscle beyond its normal range of motion.

Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) Stretching (effective for improving flexibility and rehabilitation): A combination of stretching and contracting the muscle, often performed with a partner or resistance.

Meet Member David Held! A retired New York City police officer, David has called Florida home for the past two years. Since trading the busy streets of NYC for sunshine and palm trees, he’s been enjoying every minute of his welldeserved retirement.

David loves spending time with his adorable granddaughter, Nora, who always brings a smile to his face. When he’s not with family, you’ll often find him traveling and making new memories with his wife, Cynthia. Known for his great sense of humor and kind heart, David brings laughter and warmth wherever he goes.

We’re so happy to have David as part of our Esplanade at Tradition community!

Active Stretching: The stretch is achieved by contracting the opposing muscle group without external assistance.

Passive Stretching: Uses an external force such as a partner, gravity, or equipment to hold a stretch.

Each form serves a different purpose and when used correctly, plays a key role in maintaining your physical health and performance. Stop by the Fitness Center today and register for the Stretch, Core & Strength class with Sony on Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m.
