TEAM SPOTLIGHT / WELLNESS / CONNECT

Jenna Etienne YOUR WELLNESS ATTENDANT Jenna is a Florida native who enjoys spending quality time with her family, especially her son, and relaxing at the beach. Before joining the Esplanade team, she worked in housekeeping at the beautiful Costa d’Este Beach Resort & Spa, where she gained valuable hospitality experience and developed a passion for creating exceptional experiences for others. Jenna is grateful for the opportunity to serve as a Wellness Attendant and is excited to continue growing in her role. She looks forward to getting to know our Members and contributing to the continued success of the community.

Balanced Glucose, Better Wellness

S

tabilizing your glucose can support fat loss, reduce cravings, and improve energy and mood. Your number one rule this month: enjoy fiber and protein before carbohydrates whenever possible. For example, start with a small salad and grilled chicken before having rice or pasta, or begin your day with eggs and vegetables before toast or oatmeal. Eating foods in this order can help slow the rise in glucose, prevent energy crashes, and keep hunger more consistent throughout the day. This shift may positively impact your appetite, cravings, energy, and inflammation while helping you feel more balanced after meals. Practice it daily, stay consistent, and notice how your body responds!

Giving Back

L

ooking for ways to give back and get involved? Contact the Golf Club to learn how you can volunteer and support the Esplanade at Tradition Annual Golf Tournament benefiting the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. Whether you’re interested in helping with the event preparations, assisting on tournament day, or simply learning more, we would love to have you involved in this meaningful community effort. Thank you to all the Members who participated in our April blood drive! Together, we collected six lifesaving units to support patients in need. Please mark your calendars for our upcoming blood drives: • • •

Members explored the rich and diverse flavors of Brazilian cuisine as they were guided through the art of preparing the perfect Picanha and learning to make farofa and vinaigrette, classic accompaniments that paired beautifully with the Picanha. To complete the experience, they also sipped on a sample of Brazil’s iconic national cocktail, the refreshing Caipirinha.

Members made a splash during an afternoon of pool volleyball filled with laughter, friendly competition and plenty of playful moments. It wasn’t about perfect spikes or flawless passes—it was about enjoying time together and creating a fun summer memory. In the end, winning mattered far less than staying in the water and keeping the good times going!

FITNESS / SPA

Move Well, Live Well

A

s we age, fitness becomes less about appearance and more about preserving health, independence, and overall quality of life. The body naturally loses muscle mass, flexibility, and balance over time, but regular physical activity helps slow these changes. Staying active makes everyday tasks like walking, lifting, or standing up easier, reducing the risk of falls and injuries. Exercise also plays a major role in preventing chronic diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and high blood pressure. Beyond physical health, it supports mental well-being by improving mood, sleep, and cognitive function. Even moderate, consistent movement can make a noticeable difference in how we feel day to day. Ultimately, fitness doesn’t have to mean intense workouts. Simple activities like walking, stretching, or light strength training can go a long way. The key is consistency, keeping the body moving so that we can continue living actively and independently for as long as possible.

I

Treat Yourself f you’ve been thinking about taking better care of yourself, consider this your sign to step into the spa and enjoy a little well-deserved time for you. Regular massages are more than

a treat. They can help reduce stiffness, improve circulation, and ease the everyday aches and tension that build up over time. Whether you lead an active lifestyle or simply want to move more comfortably, a massage can make a noticeable difference in how your body feels each day. Facials also offer benefits that go far beyond appearance, helping to keep your skin healthy, hydrated, and protected. Sometimes, making time for yourself is reason enough to schedule an appointment. You’ll leave feeling relaxed, refreshed, and ready to take on the days ahead. A little time devoted to your own care can have a lasting impact on how you feel. Investing in your well-being is always time well spent. Make an appointment at The Spa today! Call 772-254-9850.
