We kick things off with our Cinco de Mayo Tequilazo, a festive afternoon full of vibrant flavors, music, and fun, a perfect way to gather with friends and neighbors. Next, we’ll honor the amazing women in our lives with a Mother’s Day Celebration, followed by a Father’s Day World Cup Celebration, cheer on your favorite teams, enjoy delicious bites, and raise a toast to all the fathers in our community.
This month will also feature exciting outings, including our rescheduled trip to Seminole Hard Rock Hotel, make sure you sign up so you don’t miss the fun! We’ll kick off our first Yappy Hour with a Splash, a perfect mix of furry friends, refreshments, and summer vibes. Martin Pickup
YOUR COURT SPORTS PRO
Martin Pickup is an IPTPA Level II Certified Pickleball Teaching Professional based in Punta Gorda, Florida, with a lifelong passion for racquet and competitive sports. Originally from England, Martin grew up playing lawn tennis and league badminton before relocating to the United States in 1996.
Prior to discovering pickleball, Martin competed in soccer in New York, earning a silver medal in the 2013 State Championships. Since transitioning to pickleball, he has achieved multiple gold medal victories in both men’s and mixed doubles at local tournaments throughout Southwest Florida.
Martin is a regular competitor at the U.S. Open Pickleball Championships in Naples, Florida, and has earned recognition as a sponsored professional athlete with Holbrook Pickleball.
Known for his patient and methodical approach, Martin emphasizes a safety-first foundation for beginners while progressively developing strong fundamentals. For more advanced players, he focuses on strategic play and refined techniques designed to elevate performance and confidence on the court.

Colleen Stewart is a devoted mother, proud grandmother, entrepreneur, and woman of unwavering faith whose life journey reflects resilience, compassion, and a deep commitment to serving others. Born and raised in Jamaica, Colleen moved to Brooklyn, New York in 1985, bringing with her strong values, determination, and a lifelong dedication to family. After building her life in New York, she later spent 20 years on Florida’s east coast, where she faithfully served her community as a registered nurse, touching countless lives through her care and compassion.
Today, Colleen is a proud co-owner of a cleaning business alongside her sister, with whom she shares a close and cherished bond. Their partnership is built on trust, integrity, and a shared commitment to excellence. Family remains at the center of Colleen’s world, and she treasures every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.
Since making Esplanade her home, Colleen has embraced the community lifestyle and the many opportunities it offers. She especially enjoys staying active through pickleball and recently had a great experience sharpening her skills during a session with Coach Martin. She also enjoys reading, exercising, traveling, and connecting with neighbors.
Above all, Colleen’s faith is the foundation of her life. She values her identity as a cherished child of God, and her greatest passion is investing in the lives of teenage girls. Through mentorship and encouragement, she helps guide them through life’s challenges, inspiring spiritual growth, confidence, and wise decision-making. With a heart for service, a love for community, and a passion for making a difference, Colleen Stewart is a wonderful example of the spirit that makes Esplanade such a special place to call home.

Happy Hour EVENTS
Our Happy Hour events continue to bring great energy and unforgettable moments! In January, Members enjoyed an exciting evening with DJ Josh where the vibes were high, the bites were delicious, and the dance floor was full. In February, the experience shifted to a more relaxed and flavorful evening as Members indulged in a mindful spread prepared by Chef Vanessa. With delicious offerings and a welcoming atmosphere, it was a WOW-worthy night.
The Big GAME
We gave the menu a halftime inspired twist that truly delivered. Members enjoyed empanadas, followed by tender Pernil Asado, served with stewed rice, sweet plantains and the evening ended on a high note with a creamy coconut flan, bringing everyone together for a winning night of great food and even better company.
Pickleball & Cafecito EVENT
What a blast at our cafecito and pickleball sipping strong coffee from Da Cuban Coffee spot then smashing paddles on the court, pure Esplanade vibes.

Players enjoyed a lively, interactive session rotating partners and playing alongside the pro. The evening featured live, in-game coaching on shot selection, court positioning, doubles communication, and point strategy, giving everyone a fun and educational experience on the court.

Life at home is never dull, thanks to two very special companions: Clyde, a playful 10-month-old Bernedoodle, and Samantha, a wise and gentle 13-year-old Peekapoo. Clyde is a fluffy whirlwind of joy. Goofy, affectionate, and full of puppy energy, he’s always ready for zoomies, new tricks, and belly rubs after a long day of play. With the intelligence of a Poodle and the gentle heart of a Bernese Mountain Dog, Clyde’s combination of stubborn charm and eager-to-please sweetness keeps everyone on their toes—and occasionally searching for a missing sock!
Samantha, lovingly known as “Sammy,” brings calm, grace, and quiet companionship. She offers protective barks at the doorbell, playful bursts when the mood strikes, and endless cuddles when relaxation is on the agenda. At 13, she’s the quintessential lapdog, thriving on love, attention, and the comfort of being near her people.
Together, Clyde and Samantha create the perfect balance of energy and serenity, filling Michael and Julie’s homes with laughter, warmth, and unconditional love. It’s a dynamic duo that proves the best things in life truly come in furry packages.

Members had an incredible time at JetBlue Park as Puerto Rico took on Boston in an exciting match up. The Red Sox delivered a clinic on the field, and our Members were thrilled to be featured on the Jumbo Tron while cheering on the action. A day full of baseball, excitement, and community spirit!
