Summer is here! Can you believe it has already been two months since The Lodge officially opened its doors? In such a short time, these spaces have already become filled with laughter, new friendships, celebrations, wellness, and the everyday moments that make a community feel like home. What was an idea has turned into a reality, and we are so glad to share it with you. Over the past several weeks, it has been incredible to watch Members embrace everything The Lodge has to offer, from fitness classes and social gatherings to dining experiences, and spontaneous conversations shared around the pool, restaurant, and common spaces. The energy and enthusiasm from this community continue to remind us exactly why this lifestyle is so special.

Nak Nith MAINTENANCE MANAGER

Green filled The Lodge as Members came together to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in festive fashion! With themed cocktails, music, lively conversation, and plenty of Irish spirit, the evening was full of energy and smiles. From shamrocks to cheers shared among friends, it was truly a lucky night to remember.
Members were transported to the vibrant flavors and culture of Brazil during our latest Cooking & Cocktails experience. Featuring delicious bites, handcrafted cocktails, and an interactive culinary demonstration, the evening blended food, entertainment, and social connection into one unforgettable event. It was a night full of flavor!

Members enjoyed a delightful brunch surrounded by the peaceful countryside before spending the afternoon picking fresh flowers and exploring the picturesque property. The trip was the perfect combination of connection, fresh air, and making memories together outside the community.

Furry Friends Meet Bandit & Kona
LOVED BY BRIAN & JENNIFER GIBSON Bandit and Kona are two Australian Labradoodles who technically share the same age, but definitely not the same vibe. Bandit, with his curly white coat, black eye patch, and giant “I-woke-up-happy” smile, is 10 going on two — basically a toddler in a dog suit. Kona, our soft sandy-brown gentleman is calm, a little shy, and may bark when unsure, but if you’re a lady, he turns into Mr. Smooth and hands out kisses like he’s running for office. They love exploring and can often be spotted trotting into the Sales Gallery collecting treats from their adoring fans. If you see us out and about, come say hi — Bandit will smile at you, and Kona might just blow you a kiss.

Grant & Evelyn Inouye The Members of our community are truly what make this a wonderful place to live. In each edition, we will spotlight a Member, couple or family to showcase the amazing people that call our community home. rant and Evelyn’s story began on April 1, 1990, at a grocery store in Newark, California, proving that fate sometimes works in the most unexpected ways. Evelyn had driven a friend to the store as a good deed, and somewhere between the aisles and an accidentally borrowed grocery cart, she met Grant. What could have been mistaken for an April fool’s joke quickly became something much more meaningful. As they like to say, the rest is history — it was FATE. The two were married on August 16, 1992, and have built a beautiful life together centered around family, laughter and adventure. Through the years, they have created countless memories, embraced new chapters together, and remained each other’s greatest source of support. They are proud parents of two daughters and loving grandparents to five grandchildren. Grant retired in 2022 after an impressive 42-year career as a Reliability Engineer with Lockheed Martin. Evelyn retired in 2018 after 32 years in Real Estate Services and Property Management. Their dedication, hard work, and positive outlook have carried into every season of their lives. Known throughout the community for their warm personalities and kind hearts, Grant and Evelyn truly embody the spirit of connection and fun. They enjoy golfing, traveling, and spending time with family and friends — but perhaps their most legendary pastime is karaoke. In fact, if “The King” ever grabs the microphone, you are absolutely in for a treat. Their joyful energy has a way of making any gathering feel a little brighter. Whether they are out exploring, sharing stories, cheering on loved ones, or bringing energy to community events, Grant and Evelyn continue to spread positivity and joy everywhere they go.

DIRECTIONS 1. In a bowl, whisk together orange juice, lime juice, olive oil, garlic, honey, salt, and pepper. Marinate salmon for 15–20 minutes. 2. Grill or pan-sear salmon over medium-high heat for about 4–5 minutes per side until cooked through.
3. In another bowl, combine corn, avocado, tomatoes, onion, herbs, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Toss gently. 4. Plate salmon over the fresh summer salad and garnish with extra herbs and citrus slices. s part of our commitment to community connection and giving back, the Esplanade Connect team was proud to participate in Assemblywoman Stephanie Nguyen’s Spring Job Fair. The event brought together local organizations, businesses, and young adults seeking career opportunities, mentorship, and guidance. Our team supported attendees through job coaching, interview preparation, and career conversations while connecting with impressive individuals interested in hospitality and communityfocused work. This meaningful event not only allowed us to support local youth, but also helped us identify and hire new team members who will now be part of the growing Esplanade community.

This flavorful demonstration will highlight bright ingredients and simple techniques that come together to create a light, satisfying meal perfect for sharing. Attendees will learn to prepare Chicken Souvlaki, paired with homemade Tzatziki and a refreshing Horiatiki salad that brings the whole plate together. To complement the menu, we’ll also highlight Mediterranean wines that pair beautifully with these bright, fresh dishes.
