Days feel brighter, the landscape feels more alive, and the community buzzes with a renewed sense of energy. Spring invites us to slow down just enough to appreciate the beauty around us, while also inspiring us to step out, connect, and embrace what’s new.
This season is all about fresh starts and meaningful moments. Whether it’s enjoying time outdoors, discovering a new favorite class, or gathering with friends for shared experiences, spring brings countless opportunities to refresh routines and spark joy. Our Lifestyle program continues to grow alongside the season, offering engaging events, wellness opportunities, and social experiences designed to help you make the most of these vibrant months.
At the heart of it all is the spirit of our community. It’s the laughter at social gatherings, the familiar faces at fitness classes, and the shared pride in calling Esplanade by the Islands home. We’re excited to introduce Marie Webber; the new Food and Beverage Lead Server at the Bahama Bar. Marie joined Esplanade by the Islands in September as a server and stepped into the Lead Server role in January.
Originally from Long Island, Marie moved to beautiful Naples two years ago. She began her career in the service industry six years ago, a path she discovered during the challenges of COVID, and she hasn’t looked back since. She has a true passion for hospitality, bringing people together, and creating welcoming experiences for everyone. Marie takes pride in working with her team and ensuring Members feel right at home.
When she’s not at the Bahama Bar, you can often find Marie at the Café on Sunday mornings or working at another off-site position. She enjoys cooking, relaxing at the beach, spending time with friends, dancing, and sharing great meals with her family.
Marie’s greatest accomplishment is raising her 18-year-old son as a single mother—a journey that has shaped her and strengthened her appreciation for family, community, and connection. She is grateful to call Naples home and to be part of such a wonderful community with amazing Members and coworkers.

It’s A Wonderful Lifestyle SIGNATURE EVENT
We celebrated this past holiday season with tradition at our annual event. Attendees were greeted by entertainers, Kathy and Mark, and their caroling show on wheels. With bubbly in hand, everyone enjoyed the show and was surprised by the snowstorm as they entered the event. The evening was full of delicious foods and beverage service, planned, prepared and executed by the entire Bahama Bar team. It was a festive evening celebrating the holiday season and the community being created within Esplanade.

A Quacking Good Time at THE COMMUNITY DUCK HUNT
On January 26, Members gathered at the Wellness Center and set off on a scenic community walking tour with a playful twist — our Community Duck Hunt Scavenger Hunt! As Members strolled through Esplanade by the Islands, they searched pathways and sidewalks for hidden rubber ducks, turning a simple walk into a fun-filled adventure. Neighbors compared their “duck discoveries,” shared plenty of laughs, and enjoyed some friendly competition along the way. The energy and enthusiasm throughout the morning truly made this event a quack-tastic success and a wonderful example of community connection. Congratulations to our lucky winners: Corrine Carter, Brenda Walker, Lydia Metz, and Leanna Reimbas. Thank you to everyone who participated!

We’ll be hosting a kids-only egg hunt at 12 p.m. Eggs tend to be found very quickly, so please be sure to arrive on time. Recommended for children ages 2-8 years old. A minimum of 10 children needed. Following the kid’s egg hunt, the adults will then have a chance to find some great spring treats and prizes with their own adults-only egg hunt at 1 p.m. A minimum of 20 Members needed. Butterfly Garden Club Visits IFAS Gardens
On January 27, Members of our community’s Butterfly Garden Club enjoyed a guided tour of the IFAS Gardens at the University of Florida’s Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Extension in Collier County. Led by knowledgeable Master Gardeners, participants explored a variety of vibrant garden spaces, including a butterfly garden, sensory garden, native plant garden, raised-bed vegetable garden, succulent garden, and color garden.
Throughout the tour, Members gained fascinating insights into the featured plants and learned practical tips for growing plants, herbs, and vegetables that thrive in Southwest Florida’s climate.
The newly formed Butterfly Garden Club is designed to be fun, social, and welcoming; no prior gardening or butterfly knowledge is required. The club meets once a month and has plans for additional local outings and social gatherings throughout the year. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn, connect, and meet neighbors who share an interest in nature and gardening.
