Hello Sunshine!
Spring at Azario brought so many wonderful opportunities to connect, celebrate, and make memories together. From the swashbuckling fun of our Pirates of Azario party to the sunshine and friendly competition of our Cornhole Social & Mini Tournament, it was a joy to see Members come together in such spirited and meaningful ways.
Our 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off brought the heat in the best way possible, with delicious entries, lively conversation, and plenty of community pride, while Paint Your Pet gave Members the chance to tap into their creative side and turn their beloved pets into works of art.
As we turn the page into May and June, there is even more fun ahead. We are looking forward to welcoming the warmer months with a beautiful mix of outings, social gatherings, and hands-on experiences. Upcoming highlights include the Two Blooms Floral Class, where Members can create a one-ofa-kind seasonal arrangement, Brunch & Bubbly Potluck, a cheerful way to celebrate National Mimosa Day with good food and great company, and Silent Disco, which promises
a lively night of music, dancing, and retro flair. We also have the exciting Almost Eagles performance at Van Wezel to look forward to, offering Members a chance to enjoy an unforgettable live music experience together.
As summer begins to settle in, I hope everyone takes advantage of the many ways to stay engaged, try something new, and spend time with neighbors and friends. Whether you are joining us for a signature event, a casual gathering, or one of our recurring social opportunities, there is something special about this season of longer days, warm evenings, and vibrant community life.

With a background in Public Health from the University of Florida and nearly a decade immersed in Orlando’s vibrant food culture, Sarah has built a career around helping people connect more deeply, and joyfully, with what they eat.
As a certified nutrition consultant, culinary educator, and Level 1 Olive Oil Sommelier, Sarah blends science, storytelling, and hands on technique to show how flavor can be a powerful pathway to wellness. Through her work, she has crafted experiences that celebrate nourishment, creativity, and the belief that healthy eating should always feel exciting and accessible.

Esplanade is proud to welcome Marco Marini, National Culinary & Beverage Experience Leader, whose spirited Italian roots and decades of culinary leadership bring a bold new energy to our culinary experiences. Raised in Porto Santo Stefano on the Tuscan coast and trained in restaurant and hotel management, Marco blends old world tradition with modern technique, global curiosity, and the warm hospitality he’s known for.
As a Certified Executive Chef and Certified Culinary Administrator, Marco has spent his career shaping unforgettable dining programs, including the opening of the first Bahama Bar and Culinary Center at Esplanade Lakewood Ranch. His classes are lively, story driven, and hands on, inviting Members to explore iconic dishes from around the world through the lens of culture, craft, and culinary spirit.

For Michele Schweidel and Michael Hernandez — affectionately known as “M&M” — life at Azario has been filled with connection, community, and a little bit of serendipity.
Michele was born in New York City and spent much of her life living in New York, Brooklyn, and New Jersey before making the move to Florida in 2024, where she rented in Waterside, Lakewood Ranch. While she enjoyed her time there, she found herself missing the amenities, activities, and sense of community she was looking for. When she discovered Azario, she knew she had found the right place. Michele jokes that in those early days, she felt a bit like a stray cat wandering around while getting acclimated. Thankfully, the Lifestyle team helped make Azario feel like home, connecting her with Azario Envoy Elizabeth Dygert, who introduced Michele to fellow Members with similar interests. Elizabeth also introduced Michele to her brother, Michael — and from there, the rest is history. What followed was a true whirlwind romance.
Michael was born in Mexico City and grew up in California. Later he spent much of his life in the Metro D.C. area before relocating to Florida in 2023. While staying with his sister Elizabeth at Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch, he quickly grew to appreciate everything the community had to offer — and, of course, found even more reason to love it after meeting Michele.
Michele and Michael have embraced the Azario lifestyle to the fullest. They enjoy playing pickleball, relaxing in the jacuzzi at the resort pool, and spending time at the beach — one of their favorite happy places. They also love attending Signature Events, listening to live music, and dancing whenever they get the chance.
What they treasure most about Azario is the way it has brought so many meaningful connections into their lives. Through the community, they’ve formed several close friend groups and enjoy participating in a variety of activities, from Bocce Club to fitness classes. For Michele and Michael, Azario is more than just a place to live — it’s a place where every day feels a little like vacation.
They shared that the staff at Azario has been a big part of what makes the community so special, and they’d like to give a heartfelt shoutout to Tiffany, Stephanie, Felicia, Duncan, and Bonnie for always making their days brighter.

PARTY
The Pirates of Azario Party was a treasure-filled night of fun on the high seas! Members enjoyed themed mocktails, danced the night away, showed off their best pirate looks in our Best Dressed Pirate Contest, and hunted for plenty of treasure along the way. With festive costumes, lively music, and swashbuckling spirit all around, it was an unforgettable evening full of laughs, energy, and pirateworthy memories.

Whiskey may be 100% mutt, but he is also 100% adorable. Rescued from West Virginia at just four months old, this lovable pup found his forever home with Michael and later made the move to Florida in 2023, where he has fully embraced the Azario lifestyle right alongside Michele and Michael.
Now 5 years old, Whiskey has become a beloved part of their family — and Michele quickly became his preferred human. He took to her immediately and especially loves snuggling up with her on the couch whenever he gets the chance.
When he is not soaking up affection at home, Whiskey can often be found living his best life at the dog park, running around with plenty of energy to spare, or stretched out for a nap in a sunny spot. His most unexpected favorite pastime? Chasing a laser pointer — a hobby that feels a little more feline than canine, but somehow suits his playful personality perfectly.
With his playful spirit and sweet nature, Whiskey brings plenty of charm, fun, and tail-wagging joy wherever he goes.

The Old Forester Dinner was a wonderfully elevated evening celebrating the craftsmanship and history of one of bourbon’s most iconic names. Members enjoyed a thoughtfully curated multicourse dinner, with each course expertly paired to highlight the distinct character of Old Forester’s signature expressions. From the handcrafted Old Fashioned and savory Southern-inspired dishes to the decadent bourbon pecan truffles, each pairing offered a memorable culinary experience. Guided tastings and brand insights added an extra layer of depth, making the evening both flavorful and refined.
