Letter From the Lifestyle Team LEXI RINGWOOD YOUR LIFESTYLE MANAGER

Spring is in the air! Your Lifestyle Manager and Esplanade team have created a variety of fun events and activities for the upcoming months, all designed to get you connected to your new neighbors. We are thrilled to share that we have established our first two clubs, Book Club and Adventure Awaits, and we would love to add some additional clubs to our lineup. Interest Groups & Social Clubs are a great way to get involved in the community and meet fellow Members who share your same interests. If there is a hobby or passion of yours you would like to see become an Interest Group or Social Club, please reach out to me! We are really looking forward to our first Burgers and Brews night, which will be held at the local brewery, Hop Life Brewing Company. We will also be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day celebration, which will include some delicious Irish themed foods and drinks. In April, we are excited to celebrate National Pet Day with Yappy Hour and look forward to getting into the Easter spirit with a fun Easter cookie decorating activity. As a friendly reminder, please make sure you register yourself, and any guests, for our upcoming events. This allows us to properly prepare our programming for your arrival, ensuring the most fun and enjoyable experience. Let’s make this a special year now that you are home at Esplanade at Tradition!

Stasia Hope Voorhees YOUR REGIONAL LIFESTYLE DIRECTOR

e are pleased to formally introduce you to Stasia Voorhees, your Regional Lifestyle Director of the Esplanade Brand. Stasia is currently providing onsite Lifestyle support to all twelve Esplanade communities located in Florida. That portfolio continues to expand and evolve as the Esplanade Brand reaches new heights nationwide! In addition to providing strategic Lifestyle programming support to all local Lifestyle teams, Stasia has played a pivotal role in providing day-to-day operations support at the communities. Whether that’s showing up ready to set up and break down an onsite event or taking on the daily responsibilities of a local Lifestyle Manager during times of staff transition, Stasia is truly an irreplaceable member of our team and is always ready to step in at a moment’s notice. After earning her Associates of Arts Degree from St. Petersburg College, and her Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the Florida Institute of Technology, Stasia began her career as a teacher and taught early childhood education, ages 3-6 years old. After learning about the Lifestyle Manager role, she decided to make a career transition, and was an acting Lifestyle Manager for five years before her well-deserved promotion to Regional Lifestyle Director. Born and raised in Safety Harbor, Florida, Stasia is the oldest of three, with two younger brothers, Brandon and Mitchel. She is also the proud aunt of Santi and Colton. In 2017 she married her husband Kelly, and the pair celebrated their 5-year wedding anniversary in February of this year! Kelly and Stasia met in their hometown but eventually relocated to Sarasota, where they met some of their most cherished, lifelong friends! Stasia currently shares a loving home with her husband, her dog Yoshi (who will be celebrating a 9th birthday this year) and her beloved, almost threeyear-old son Benjamin. “He is truly the most amazing thing to ever happen to me. He has taught me so much about love and life and I am so fortunate to be his mommy,” Stasia shares. As a family, some of their favorite things to do together are play outside where Benny loves to swing on his special red swing, watch football, go on adventures and spend time with family and friends. Stasia’s side of the family are also Disney lovers and self-proclaimed (rightfully so!) Disney park experts, and have created many wonderful memories at the Walt Disney World Resort together with annual family trips. Stasia comes from a very sport centric family, with a special affinity for football. “I am a huge Miami Dolphins fan and Tampa Bay Lighting fan - Go Fins and Bolts!” Stasia and her husband also really enjoy traveling. Stasia’s schedule keeps her on the road and adventuring across the state of Florida, but if you happen to see her around your community, she’d love to meet you in person. Thank you Stasia, for all that you do for our teams – we could not do it without you!

our National Director of Food, Beverage & Culinary Experience, Patrick Scully, along with your local Lifestyle team, invite you to embark on a new epicurean adventure: The Esplanade Cooking & Cocktail Series! Each installment of this interactive culinary experience will last approximately one hour and will include a step-bystep demonstration of the selected fare (one food item and one libation) from professionals in their craft. At the conclusion of the experience, you will have the opportunity to enjoy a sample size of each featured item. The first class in the series will feature Ceviche and Pisco Sours! Space is limited, so visit the event calendar on your community website to register for this gastronomic event! Please note, participants will not be actively cooking these dishes or preparing cocktails, but volunteers may be requested. Portions are sample size. If you are unable to join us in person for the demonstration, digital recipe cards will be emailed out at a future date to give you the opportunity to test out your culinary skills at home!

Pan-Seared Red Snapper with Mango Salsa INGREDIENTS » » » » » » » » » »

1 1/2 lbs red snapper skinless fillets, 1/2 inch thick or less 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning 1 teaspoon lemon pepper ¼ teaspoon garlic powder 4 tablespoons olive oil divided 1 tablespoon butter ¼ cup all-purpose flour 1 mango peeled and diced ¼ cup pineapple tidbits with juice ¼ green and 1/4 red bell pepper chopped (ribs and seeds removed)

1 jalapeno pepper with ribs and seeds removed, finely minced 1 clove garlic peeled and finely minced 1 shallot peeled and finely minced 2 tablespoons chopped parsley 2 teaspoons lemon juice 1 pinch red pepper flakes ½ teaspoon kosher salt ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

DIRECTIONS 1. Add the mango, red and green bell peppers, pineapple, garlic, shallots, jalapeno, parsley, two tablespoons olive oil, lemon juice, red pepper flakes, salt and pepper to a bowl and mix well. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use. 2. Pat the fillets dry with a paper towel. Season the fish with the Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and lemon pepper. Dredge in flour and shake off the excess. 3. Add the remaining two tablespoons of olive oil and butter to a large skillet over medium-high heat. When the oil is hot, add the fillets and saute for two to three minutes per side, depending on the thickness of the fillets. When the fish flakes easily with a fork, it is done. 4. Spoon a generous amount of mango salsa over the fish fillets and enjoy.

Restoring the Gulf of Mexico From the National Wildlife Federation

he Gulf of Mexico is an incredible haven for wildlife—home to approximately 15,000 unique species of wildlife, including 28 types of dolphins and whales, 49 species of sharks, and five different sea turtles. The National Wildlife Federation has long worked to improve the health of the Gulf of Mexico for people and wildlife, and to protect the way of life of the 50 million people who live near the Gulf. Over the decades, we have championed the restoration of Louisiana’s rapidly-eroding Mississippi River Delta, advocated for the restoration of the Everglades, and protected freshwater flowing to the Texas coast.
