THE MODULAR GRID PLATFORM

Our flagship in-grid product, the Modular Grid Platform designed for easy panel replacement and device access.

Operating on a torsion spring system, simply pop the panel down, and navigate the springs out of their slots! The panel hangs on two springs, granting ceiling and device access, and to fully remove the panel, slide the remaining two springs out.

To reinstall the panel, simply reverse that process!

1.
Torsion springs squeeze allowing one side of the panel to drop down.
Dropping the panel onto all four springs helps swing the panel down for device and ceiling access.
Guide two springs out to access the ceiling and replace devices.
Fully remove the panel for panel replacement without removing the MGP from the structure!
2.

THE CONFIGURED PLATFORM

The Configured Platform (CP) is our most cost-conscious product, with panels separated separated by an integrated grid member that matches the width and color of the adjacent suspended ceiling grid. Though just as capable as our MGP in terms of device and luminaires, removing and swapping panels requires the CP be taken down from the ceiling.

From there, a simple two-step procedure allows for one or all panels to slide out of the assembly.

Reassembly is easy — slide the panel into alignment with the bracket and reattach the hardware!

1.
2.
Remove the screws between panel and bracket, and panel and light.
Slide the panel out!

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT: MCKINSTRY

DALLAS, TX

McKinstry’s recent office TI in Dallas, Texas, featured a variety of Overcast products. Our Polyester Felt Clouds remain a popular choice for open office environments. Clusters of joined 4’x8’ Arktura Dappled Clouds speckled with 1” downlights added a unique flair to the break room. One of the conference rooms featured our FSCcertified wood slat Clouds, for a premium feel. And where ceiling tiles made sense, our MGPs did too!

We took this opportunity to debut our new pendant lighting (see next page), providing uninterrupted Overcast lighting without the need for an additional Cloud.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Overcast Innovations partnered with Food Lifeline, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing healthy food and fresh produce to individuals and families facing food insecurity. On August 7, 2025, the Overcast team volunteered their time to sort apples at Food Lifeline’s warehouse, successfully processing an impressive 8,700 pounds of fruit in a single day. This effort helped ensure nutritious food could be efficiently distributed to communities in need. Community outreach is a core value of Overcast Innovations, and the team was grateful for the opportunity to give back, support a vital local organization, and contribute meaningfully to the fight against hunger.

Food Lifeline is on a mission to end hunger in Western Washington. They strive to feed people experiencing hunger today while working to end hunger for tomorrow.
