Yet as the years bring change, loss, and new uncertainties, even the most deeply rooted faith can tremble. This quiet, often unspoken struggle is what many spiritual leaders call spiritual distress—a disorientation of the soul that leaves one questioning purpose, connection, or even God’s presence. In conversations with three local pastors, a shared theme emerged: spiritual distress is not a failure of faith but part of its evolution—a time of disorientation that can ultimately lead to deeper understanding.
