Terrain was founded in 2021 as a sister company to Outpost, Jackson Hole’s leading vacation rental company. After years of caring for homes and guests, we built Terrain on the same principles: clear communication, reliable service, attention to detail, and doing right by people even when it’s harder.
Along the way, we’ve also built other companies that many in Jackson Hole know well — including Snake River Roasting Co. There we’ve learned a simple truth: one bad cup can cost you a customer, and you may never even hear about it. That’s why we approach every detail with consistency. The same standard guides Terrain — whether roasting beans or clearing snow, trust is earned in the details, day after day.
My goal at Terrain is simple: to exceed expectations. I take great pride in this work not because of dollars and cents, but because of the people behind every property we serve. Success means taking the extra time, putting in the extra effort, and knowing at the end of the day that we did right by you.
I was born in Moldova in 1992 and raised largely by my grandparents while my parents worked abroad. From an early age I learned the value of sacrifice, discipline, and hard work. Boxing, a sport passed down from my father, helped shape the determination that guides my work today.
That drive eventually brought me to the United States on an athletic visa. In Florida I worked in construction, hospitality, and management while learning English and Spanish along the way. Those experiences ultimately led my family and me to Jackson Hole, where I found a community that shares my commitment to hard work and quality.
At Terrain we approach every property with care and preparation throughout the seasons. Before winter arrives, I personally train each driver on their route, walking properties together and reviewing every detail so nothing is left to chance when the storms arrive. In the warmer months we bring that same level of planning and care to landscaping, preparing each project thoughtfully so the work is done right and every property is treated with the same care we would give our own.
Mekki Jaidi first came to Jackson Hole in 2012 with his wife, Jane, seeking open skies and a little breathing room. What convinced them to stay were the people — warm, welcoming, and quick to create a sense of belonging. By 2014, Jackson Hole had become home.
Raised in New York by immigrant parents from Morocco and the Philippines, Mekki grew up with examples of hard work, kindness, and pride in every task. After graduating from Columbia University and working in finance, he and Jane founded Outpost, a vacation rental management company built on hospitality and obsessive attention to detail.
That same philosophy carried into other ventures, including Snake River Roasting Co. and, later, Terrain. What began as a partnership became Mekki’s responsibility to lead, where he reset the culture around accountability, clear communication, and empathy.
Supported by Jane and their four children — Penelope, Lila, Teddy, and Violet — Mekki’s motivation has never been profit alone. It is about pride in the work, trust built in small gestures, and gratitude for a community. He now serves on the boards of the Jackson Hole Land Trust, Jackson Hole Youth Soccer and Basketball, and the Center for the Arts.
