Skiing and Snowboarding
Angel Fire Ski Resort has the feel of a small, unintimidating ski area yet offers robust, challenging terrain to challenge all skier levels with 21% beginner, 56% intermediate, and 23% advanced rating.
The resort is unique in this era of large corporate resort destinations in that it is privately owned and operated, making every skier or rider, and every visitor, feel like family.
Established in 1966 the resort has grown to over 560 acres of skiable terrain, featuring 81 trails, two high-speed quad lifts, two double chair lifts, and two conveyor lifts. And, for 2026, a new high-speed six pack—the first and only six-pack in New Mexico.
With a summit elevation of 10,677 feet to a base elevation of 8,600 feet, Angel Fire Resort provides 2,077 feet of vertical drop. And, to top it off, includes the longest run in the state, the 3.5-mile green run called “Headin’ Home” to round out your day.
Terrain Parks & Night Ski
For the younger crowd, or the youngat-heart, Angel Fire Resort offers three terrain parks—each with different themes and multiple levels of difficulty. Go ahead, get some air! And, if skiing all day wasn’t enough, take a few runs after dark! Yes, with over 50 acres of

Pick your tube, pick your lane, then launch yourself down a track guaranteed to make you squeal with delight. Perfect for all ages, you might even find some friendly rivalry while racing each other down the course!
Sledding
Located just below Angel Fire Country Club, a well-maintained sledding hill is provided. It’s back to the good old days, with real sleds in a variety of colors, just like your grandparents used to do. Take the kids or grandkids for fun in the snow and sun.
Snowshoeing
Imagine the freedom of hiking in the winter over several feet of deep snow. The pioneers who traversed these mountains relied on snowshoes to survive—but think of how peaceful it must have been for them to walk without a sound in the wild. You can enjoy such an experience here along such trails as Lady Slipper, a 2.5-mile excursion that ventures into a pristine alpine valley.
Nordic Center
If you need to rent gear, get directions, take a lesson, or hear where the locals go to play in the snow, then stop by the Nordic Center. Friendly staff stand by, ready to help you make the most of the great Angel Fire outdoors when the snow settles.

The
way summer was always meant to be.
Golf Club
Club-down at least one club when you approach the green at Angel Fire Resort’s high-alpine golfing challenge. You’ll hit like a pro while golfing at 8,600 feet above sea level, with 6,653 yards to go and only 72 strokes to get you there.
Nestled in the pines and aspens, winding through alpine meadows through crisp, clean mountain air, you’ll often have to wait for a passing deer or elk to clear your shot.
The front nine features a longer-playing layout that winds through two pristine canyons adorned with aspen, spruce, and pine—not to mention stunning luxury homes around the bend.
The back nine presents a linksstyle design with smaller greens and numerous bunkers, offering a varied challenge.
Then there’s the signature hole, number 6, with a tee box positioned 200 vertical feet above the green, 239 yards away. Can you make it stick? As a member, you and your guests will want to play every day at a cost of around $100 a round including cart fees.

Downhill Mountain Biking
Here, a mountain biking experience is second-to-none in North America! You’ll find a world-class complex featuring over 60 miles of purpose-built, lift-served trails for all skill levels. Maybe you’ll come to compete in the national Big Mountain Enduro or try downhill mountain biking for the first time. Regardless of your skill level or experience, you’ll find gravity-driven exhilaration from top to bottom.
If you need a flat fixed, your brakes are a bit soft, or you are looking for a beginner lesson or competition clinic, the professional bike park staff at the Angel Fire Bike Shop, located at the base of the Chile Express chair lift, has the patience and experience to make your day a success.
Cross-country Riding
Not every trail has what it takes to receive an EPIC designation from IMBA. The South Boundary Trail is currently the only trail in New Mexico to have such recognition. This 22-mile upper intermediate trail is best ridden as a shuttled ride from Angel Fire, with another vehicle waiting at the finish near Taos.

Greenbelt Trail System
The Angel Fire Resort Greenbelt Trail System, available to resort members, offers over 30 miles of free-access hiking trails suitable for various non-motorized activities, including hiking, cross-country mountain biking, running, snowshoeing, and horseback riding. These trails meander through the Village of Angel Fire, providing users with diverse terrains and scenic views.
KEY TRAILS
Deer Trail
Starting at the intersection of North Angel Fire Road, Valle Grande Trail North, and Valle Grande Trail South, this trail traverses meadows and woodlands marked by red diamonds on the trees.
Coyote Trail
Beginning at the Via del Rey intersection with Valle Grande Trail North, this trail offers gentle grades through wooded areas and connects with other east-west Greenbelt trails.
Elk and Bear Trails
Following old grassy logging roads along meadow edges, these easy hikes are ideal for wildlife viewing, especially at dawn and dusk.
Cougar Trail
The newest addition to the system features sections of gravity flow trail linked by cross-country segments, appealing to both families and skilled bike riders.
These trails are designed for users of all skill levels, offering opportunities to experience alpine wildflowers, aspens, and diverse wildlife such as deer, elk, and occasionally bears. The Greenbelt Trail System is a community asset, encouraging outdoor recreation and exploration in the scenic environment of Angel Fire.

Monte Verde Lake
Monte Verde Lake is located just a short walk from Angel Fire Country Club, yet this spring-fed pristine lake feels quaint and secluded.
Wet a line for a trophy trout, paddleboard, kayak, pedal boat, canoe, or just float around the lake. Hang out at the beach park and then meet the rest of the gang for a barbeque, and a cold one!
Angel Fire RV Resort
Angel Fire RV Resort is a luxury RV destination located in Angel Fire. Nestled among the Sangre de Cristo Mountains on the edge of the Moreno Valley, this resort offers 102 paved camping sites, each equipped with 30/50-amp full hook-ups. These sites accommodate RVs of all lengths. You’ll find complimentary WiFi, 40-channel Direct TV, fenced dog park, pickleball courts, putting green, horseshoe pits, hot tub and shower rooms, a stately event facility, plus on-site hiking trails that are just right for a stroll.
Angel Fire Country Club
A majestic structure of log beams and massive rock is the staging venue for year-round country club living. There’s all the amenities you would expect of a full-service country club— but this one is situated at 8,600 feet elevation and surrounded by Sangre de Cristo peaks.
