Welcome to the Otto Cattle Co Inaugural Bull & Female Sale. We are grateful and honored that you have chosen to view our offering and are hopeful for the opportunity to serve you. We are truly proud of our program, which since its inception in 2018 has grown exponentially. Our commitment to our herd and furthering our elite genetics through dedicated record keeping and well-planned breeding decisions, is why Otto Cattle Co has been awarded both the Maternal Plus and AHIR Data Driven Herd accolades from the American Angus Association. While there are other offerings in our area, we are confident you will not find better, more consistent genetics or a stronger commitment to customer service than at Otto Cattle Co.
Our objective in our breeding program has been to create consistently balanced cattle that excel in maternal and carcass traits. We highly value fertility, calving ease and growth. While many programs will claim that they operate their seedstock herds as commercial herds; at Otto Cattle Co we truly do.
The cows behind our program have quiet dispositions, structural soundness and longevity traits that keep them functional for years. Throughout much of the year, they will cover many miles a day to forage naturally; as such, lameness is not tolerated. Our Cows have never calved under a roof and our calves are not feed creep. Pairs are turned out in the Little Sioux River Valley in early summer with cows feasting on native grasses and
calves receiving mother’s milk while grazing with mom, as nature intended. These practices give us a true picture of the merit in both cows and calves.
All bulls are raised and developed on our farm. We are in these bulls everyday on foot so the bulls are used to people moving through them. Our goal is not to sell the most bulls but to sell bulls that will improve the quality of cattle throughout the industry and in the end improve the quality of beef for the end users, the consumer. These bulls will sire calves that grow and have end product merit. Their daughters will be quiet, sound, fertile and troublefree replacement heifers for your herd.

SALE TERMS & CONDITIONS
SALE ORDER Cattle will sell in lot number order or as listed in this catalog.
BIDDING In person or register online with LMA Auctions at least 24 hours prior to the sale.
BULL DELIVERY Buyers of bulls selling for $4000 or more may choose one of the following options:
• A $75 credit will be given for bulls picked up sale day or the day after at Spencer Livestock;
• Free bull delivery up to 200 miles. Delivery will take place the week following the sale.
• Free boarding of bulls through June 1, 2026. Bulls must be picked up at the farm. Seller assumes no responsibility for injury or death while boarding.
TERMS Cattle will sell under the Suggested Sale Terms and Conditions of the American Angus Association. Seller will retain 1/3 semen interest on all bulls unless otherwise noted.
HERD HEALTH All bulls will be required to pass a breeding soundness examination and fertility evaluation performed by Dr. Grace Thompson of Spencer Ag, prior to sale. All required interstate health papers will be provided.
BREEDING GUARANTEE All bulls selling for $4,000 or more are guaranteed against fertility and breeding injury for the first breeding season. Breeding season is defined as the 90 day period following the first turnout of bulls. If a replacement bull is available, he will be provided, or if the buyer prefers, credit towards one bull will be given in the following year’s sale, less the salvage value of the injured bull. All breeding injuries must be diagnosed by a veterinarian. Please notify us as soon as possible and prior to the bull being sold for salvage. All claims must be made by September 1, 2026.
ONE-ON-ONE SELECTION ASSISTANCE Otto Cattle will visit your operation, get to know your herd, and help you select the bull(s) that will best complement your cow herd.
LIVESTOCK MORTALITY INSURANCE Insurance will be available sale day. It is recommended that buyers insure their investment. Buyer assumes the risk of death or injury to their livestock outside of what is specified in the breeding guarantee above.
LIABILITY All persons who attend the sale do so at their own risk. Otto Cattle Co assumes no liability, legal, or otherwise for any accidents which may occur.
