& ITC Anniversary Weekend The UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures and Hemisfair begin their 50th anniversary weekend celebration with activities at Yanaguana Gardens and two new exhibits at the institute. Kick off at ITC is from 5 to 8 p.m. ITC will be free after 3 p.m. on April 6 only. Then head over to Yanaguana Gardens for a performance by Urban 15 and parade at 8 p.m. Also catch surf-rock legends King Pelican, featuring images and video from Hemisfair ‘68 at 8:30 p.m. at Yanaguana Gardens. April 7 / 3rd Annual Mission Reach Flotilla Festival The public is invited to celebrate the entire day at Mission County Park Pavilions. A Flotilla water parade, costume contest, watercraft decorating contest, fabulous music, delicious local food vendors, and a craft mercado will make the Mission Reach Flotilla Festival an event to remember. Flotilla will also make a splash with Cleto Rodriguez as Master of Ceremonies. ITC Anniversary Weekend Kickoff: The UTSA Institute of Texan Cultures and Hemisfair begin their 50th anniversary weekend with a welcome from Mayor Ron Nirenberg, Congressman Lloyd Dogget, and District 1 Councilman Roberto Trevino, offering remarks on the event’s lasting impact on San Antonio. The kickoff will lead into the opening of two new exhibits at the institute, “Viva HemisFair” focusing on the story of the vision behind HemisFair’68 with highlights from the celebration and “Viva ITC” A Legacy for the future detailing the origins of the institute.
