Help Make a Highschool Senior’s Dream of Attending College Come True

T

he Rotary Club of Weston makes the dream of attending college a reality for a group of graduating high school seniors each year. These students, who don’t have the financial resources to pay for college themselves, are awarded scholarships. In fact, a majority of the scholarship recipients are the first members of their families to attend college at all. With the events surrounding the COVID19 pandemic, it is more important than ever to raise funds for the graduating class of 2021. To raise funds for these much-needed scholarships, the Rotary Club is hosting a virtual reverse raffle drawdown on Thursday, March 18th. The reverse raffle drawdown is a raffle where it is better to come in last! There are 400 tickets numbered between 1 through 400. Each number has a respective ping pong ball in a drum. The balls will be randomly pulled during the event. As numbers are pulled, they are eliminated. The last five people can decide if they want to share the pot or go for broke. If they go for broke the only ping pong ball left will identify the winner of the $10,000 Grand Prize. The raffle will be held prior to the 34th Annual Rotary Golf Classic, which will be held on Friday, April 9th.
