When I think back on the past year though, I must say that I have experienced an embarrassment of blessings. Good fortune in my career, success with new projects, monumental life experiences, precious milestones with family including the birth of my grandson. Life is good. Now. When I have recently run into old friends, they have remarked, “Things are going well for you.” And my response is, “I wake up thankful every day.” And I do. And I know that I won’t look back on every year and feel the same; the twists and turns in the road are unavoidable. But I also know that the good that is now, is a lifeline for those more difficult times. And I am thankful. As I thought about thankfulness this month and the idyllic cocoon that is our home here in Broomfield, Colorado, and reflecting on Veterans Day, I did pause to pray for those caught in the international conflicts in the Ukraine, Israel, and elsewhere in the world, but most especially for our active U.S. military. Each year, as featured on our cover, the Broomfield Veterans Museum ensures there is a proper day of reflection and acknowledgement for our local veterans. As current global turmoil swirls, it feels even more significant. It makes me remember that I need to prioritize sitting down with my father-in-law who served in the Air Force and my uncle who served in the Navy and capture their stories. It also makes me thankful for my sister and brother-in-law that their two sons who served in the Army and the Navy are safely home, though one still serves in the National Guard. We all have different feelings about what is happening in our world, and for some segments of the population the stress is far more pronounced than for others. For me, there is one simple truth as said by Winston Churchill: “Never was so much owed by so many to so few.” So, this November, this Veterans Day, this Thanksgiving, take a moment of silence and stop and pause and think of those who serve. Think of what you have been given as an American, and in the case of our freedom, who ensures it. We all have bad days. For today, in America, we are still free. And at least for today, that is something to be thankful for. Until next month. Thanks for reading,

Family Life ovember is here, and it’s likely over the next many weeks we will be spending more time with family, both extended and immediate. This can create stress for some people, and immense happiness for others. No matter where your emotions stand, there is always room to create more joy and harmony with those we love. I love the podcast called “Feel Good Podcast,” by Kimberly Snyder. I met her during my Chopra retreat last year and her energy is magnetic. She has done the research and studied many different practices on spirituality, health, and wellness. One episode I listened to recently talked about creating a more harmonious family life. Her messages resonated with me, and this topic in particular is one that can be extra meaningful this time of year. Here are some tips that you can incorporate to create a solid home foundation. When there is more love and acceptance in your home environment, that positive energy is carried out into the world. And the whole world could use some more love. Pick one of these to work on and see if your home life starts to shift in a more positive way. Eat meals together. We all do the best we can between all the activities. The meal can be breakfast, or an after-school snack, or a late-night dinner. Find time to have as many meals without screens so that you can connect and create a ritual that kids thrive within. Create memorable experiences together. Every single week (or more!) play games, take a walk, have a family picnic, go sledding, do crafts. Anything that creates family time with a lasting memory; no screens. It’s also proven that spending time in nature lowers stress no matter your age, so perhaps some nature walks and hikes could become routine. A big one here for parents – spend more alone time together. Do a weekly date night, go for walks, run errands together, sneak in some local overnights or send the kids to the grandparents’ house. If you and your spouse are solid and deeply connected, it creates a safe, secure, and calm environment for the kids.

Address arguments. Negative interactions can happen and tensions build. When feelings aren’t validated and bitterness builds at home, a big disconnect happens for everyone. It is important to get grievances out in the open, express your needs calmly without pointing the finger, and listen to what the other person is saying. Preferably before bed. Incorporate more touch. Whether it’s cuddling, hugging or massaging each other’s feet, touch is healing and rejuvenating for your body. I still hug my teens even if from behind while they are walking out the door. I will never stop being affectionate no matter how old they get. Be more playful. Life is stressful and serious at times. Laughter and play can be medicine for the soul. It will literally get rid of your stagnant energy and you will feel so much lighter. My wish for you this holiday season is to have more joyful interactions with your family, be extra light and playful, and in turn feel more internal happiness and calm. Lifeline in Opioid Epidemic By The City and County of Broomfield

eon’s and Liz’s daughters are buried in the same cemetery, two plots away from each other. Leon lost his daughter, Sara, to an opioid overdose in 2020. Liz lost her daughter, Brooke, to fentanyl poisoning two years later. Although Sara and Brooke never knew each other, their stories are two sides of the same coin of the opioid epidemic: Sara passed due to a substance use disorder and Brooke passed after experimenting with opioids once. Leon and Liz both believe if there were wider access and increased knowledge of Narcan—a life-saving nasal spray that reverses opioid overdose—other families might not experience the grief they have over losing their daughters. When Sara was 21, she had a surgery that resulted in infection and was hospitalized. She was prescribed opiates to manage her pain and left the hospital with an opioid use disorder. With Leon’s support, she started treatment and was sober for five years. She graduated from college, was planning to get married, and became an advocate for reducing stigma around opioid use disorders. However, when the pandemic hit, her lifeline to treatment was delayed by 45 days. Sara died from an overdose one day before her next scheduled treatment. In December of 2021, Brooke and her boyfriend found a pill in an Uber. A few weeks later, they looked up the pill online, assumed it was a prescribed painkiller and decided to split it. They quickly knew something was wrong and Brooke called 9-1-1. Because of the effects from the pill, she couldn’t tell dispatch their location or what was occuring. Without an apartment number or any signs or sounds of a problem, first responders could not find them. Several hours later, Brooke’s boyfriend woke up to find Brooke unresponsive. An autopsy later confirmed that Brooke passed away from fentanyl poisoning. Liz and Leon met in Broomfield’s Regional Opioids Council, which is facilitated by the City and County of

Broomfield (CCOB) and is part of CCOB’s larger effort to reduce substance use and improve mental health. One of the council’s strategies to reduce fatal opioid overdoses is to expand access to Narcan. “Narcan is a medication that can prevent people from dying and keep them alive long enough to get them into treatment,” said Leon. “We are saving lives in Broomfield on a regular basis because we are making it available.” Narcan is available for free to anyone—no questions asked—at the Broomfield Library and Broomfield Municipal Courts. In the first two months of the campaign, over 350 boxes were distributed. Liz believes Brooke would have survived if first responders had found her. “If you’re experimenting with drugs, nothing out there is safe to take,” said Liz. “Always know where you are, have someone with you, and carry Narcan.” Leon believes that reducing stigma will help people stay alive and seek treatment. “The stigma that runs with substance use and behavioral health challenges causes so much damage,” said Leon. “The worst thing I’ve ever had to do is give CPR to my daughter and have it be unsuccessful. Contact the Community Resources Coordinator at 303-464-5529 to request an application. “I think it’s important for the community to set a good example by appreciating and valuing our older adults,” explained Teryl Fabry, executive director of SRB. “There are some seniors that have amazing families that take good care of them, and some seniors that do not have anyone,” she noted. SRB is a longstanding organization supporting the needs of older adults. The area nonprofit partners with the City and County of Broomfield, advocating for seniors and their caregivers. As the holidays approach, many once active and vital seniors are not only grappling with being alone but may not have the social networks that afford them the opportunity to be recipients of Christmas gifts. For that reason, SRB has created its wildly popular Adopt-A-Senior for Christmas program. Informational flyers go out to Meals-On-Wheels recipients, and are passed out at local senior living communities, and the program is also shared via word of mouth. SRB’s Fabry matches seniors with community members who would like to purchase gifts for an older adult. Gifts are delivered to recipients by volunteers a few days before Christmas. Also in my research for this article, I came upon a website offering a veritable treasure trove of information. Perhaps Fabry sums it up best: “When we as a community appreciate and value all older adults, we encourage others to do the same,” she said.

n writing this article, I found insight, illumination, and inspiration. When asked to compose informational resources for older adults, specifically for this upcoming holiday season, I was mildly interested to see what I would find. But then assembling the information was like flipping a switch. Click! The darkness vanished, and in its place, I found an electric vision of new and enhanced ways of living. Who knew the vast amount of assistance available to our friends and neighbors of an elite age? First, of course, is the Broomfield Senior Center & Senior Services (located at the Broomfield Community Center, 280 Spader Way). The programs there include a number of choices for seniors, including a weekday lunch program at its Lakeshore Café, Meals on Wheels, Easy Ride Transportation services, information and referral services, support groups, recreational activities, and special events. Additionally, qualified applicants aged 60+ may receive assistance paying for homemaking help, dental and medical procedures, hearing aids, vision assistance, medications, and other material items or services that support health and well-being. Requests for assistance are considered on a caseby-case basis to address needs not covered by Medicare, Medicaid, or other health insurance. Financial assistance is made possible by a grant from

Five Local Non-Profits Band Together to Build a Brighter Broomfield

olorado Gives Day is a wonderful local holiday season tradition and what better way to celebrate that generosity than coming together to celebrate human connection with a hyper-local focused campaign. This year the Caring for Broomfield Together Campaign is sponsored by a collaboration including Bal Swan, CASA, FRIENDS, FISH, and A Precious Child. The Campaign features a gathering to be held at Bal Swan Children’s Center, on December 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with food, music, karaoke, and time with friends and neighbors. “This event will provide the sense of joy and community that Colorado Gives Day is all about!” said Maggie Sava from Broomfield FISH. This amazing collaboration of Broomfield’s own human service non-profit agencies started in 2019 to help each other collectively amplify their missions and spread awareness of each organization using shared efforts and resources. The partnership values the work each organization does and recognizes that shared successes mean that neighbors are receiving the care they need. “We are all literally taking care of Broomfield and ensuring that Broomfield is the special place it wants to be,” said Debbie Kunz from Bal Swan Children’s Center. This group shows that through collaboration and partnership, Broomfield is stronger. Each partner has a unique focus that together creates a robust support network for those in need, uplifting each other’s missions to ensure that family needs are met and that they feel supported in the community they call home. While the partners are unique

in their services, they have collective values of respect, care, and dignity for all. Bal Swan Children’s Center has become a national model for highquality, social-emotional, and inclusive education. Broomfield citizens have supported Bal Swan since its inception in 1963 and a school of this quality and prestige would not exist without the extensive support of the greater Broomfield community. A Precious Child assists children and families facing difficult life challenges such as abuse and neglect, crisis situations, and poverty. The organization encompasses more than 500 agency partners throughout eight counties that help identify children and families in the most need of services. The volunteer court appointed special advocates of CASA establish stable relationships with children in crisis by spending time with them and their families to ensure each child’s needs are met, and strives for children to have a safe and permanent home where they can thrive. Broomfield FISH (Fellowship In Serving Humanity) has been a vital community resource helping economically disadvantaged residents for more than 57 years. FISH serves residents in Broomfield by offering food, emergency financial assistance, and referral services to more than 30 partner organizations. FRIENDS of Broomfield is dedicated to creating a sense of community for men and women with developmental disabilities where they can develop their talents and be supported to live healthy, happy, and meaningful lives. “I think it’s special that we spend

he story of Bal Swan Children’s Center is one of inclusion and belonging, and as it prepares to host its 60th Annual Ball next March, Bal Swan is celebrating the stories of those who have been impacted by the center. “Since we were celebrating our 60th year, we thought a storybook theme would be really cool so we can share our story and highlight the legacy of commitment from the community,” said Debbie Kunz, executive director of Bal Swan. “This place wouldn’t exist without support from the community of Broomfield, and that’s why we decided on the theme “Our story starts with you.” The ball, which is a community favorite fundraiser for the nonprofit center, takes place March 2, 2024, at the Omni Interlocken Broomfield. The theme incorporates classic storybook tales, and attendees are invited to dress up as their favorite storybook character to add a touch of magic to the elegance and charm of the evening. “In some ways, Bal Swan is like a fairy tale,” said Kunz when asked to share her story of the impact of Bal Swan. “And yet a fairy tale really doesn’t happen without a lot of work. The magical experiences children and families have when they

or more than 100 years, the United States has honored its military veterans in November. Veterans Day grew out of memorial ceremonies held around the world marking the end of World War I on November 11, 1918 – the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. Armistice Day officially received its name in America in 1926 through a Congressional resolution. It became a national holiday 12 years later, and in the 1950s, Armistice Day was renamed Veterans Day. As it does each year, the Broomfield Veterans Museum will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony starting at 11:00 a.m. on November 11 in front of the museum at 12 Garden Center. The ceremony will feature a keynote address by Col. Don Davis, a retired Marine who is Broomfield’s deputy city manager, along with patriotic music by the Broomfield Civic Chorus and Mile High Fife and Drum. “Veterans Day holds deep personal significance to me as a veteran,” said Davis. “It’s a day of reflection and gratitude for the service and sacrifices of all those who have worn the uniform. It’s a reminder of the values, camaraderie, and indomitable spirit that define our military service. Veterans Day also serves as a call to action to continue serving our communities and nation in various capacities. In other words to ‘Keep fighting the good fight.’” Recognizing veterans and observing Veterans Day is important for several reasons, Davis said. “Firstly, it shows gratitude and appreciation for the sacrifices

It also helps to bridge the gap between civilians and military personnel, fostering understanding and support,” he said. “Furthermore, it reminds us of the values of service, sacrifice, and duty that underpin our nation’s defense. Observing Veterans Day is a way to ensure that the legacy of our veterans is preserved and passed on to future generations.” In his keynote address, Davis plans to discuss the price veterans pay to protect our nation and preserve our freedoms, including sacrificing relationships, time with their families, and in many cases, even their mental and emotional well-being. He said members of the community can honor their service and sacrifice by doing great things and living up to our full potential. “Veterans are a diverse group with a wide range of experiences and backgrounds,” said Davis. “It’s important to remember that veterans continue to contribute to their communities and the nation long after their military service has ended.” Attendees are invited to tour the museum after the ceremony to learn more and enjoy the

exhibit experiences. The museum’s current temporary exhibit - “Artifacts from our Attic” – displays a potpourri of more than 40 items that have never been on exhibit before. The museum will launch a new exhibit in mid-November honoring the 10th Mountain Division — the WWII ski troops who trained in Colorado at Camp Hale from 1942 to 1944 before being sent to combat in Italy in early 1945. Many of the veterans returned to give the sport of skiing a boost and create ski areas including Vail, Aspen, and A Basin. Davis encouraged the community to visit the museum, engage with veterans and find ways to support them not only on Veterans Day but throughout the year. “Our veterans have much to offer and share, and they are a vital part of our nation’s fabric,” he said. “Ultimately the best way to honor a veteran’s service is to commit oneself to the greater good ensuring that the sacrifices and services our veterans provide to protect and preserve our freedoms are not in vain.”

Coming up at the Broomfield Veterans Museum November 18 - BG (ret) Christopher Petty. General Petty commanded a major aviation operation in Iraq and served as a NATO commander in Serbia. He provides insights into the importance of learning and understanding military history for successful military operations, from ancient times to the present. November 25 – Don Cygan. Cygan is an Army veteran and an avid military history researcher. He joined the Army in 1989 and his background led him into a position with civil affairs and military journalism. He will talk about his book, “No Silent Night – the Christmas Battle for Bastogne.” December 9 – Don Brookings. Brookings will tell the story of his father who served as a young soldier in the 23rd Infantry Division in World War II. When his unit was in a small town in Luxembourg, he dressed as Father Christmas for a party the soldiers gave for the town’s children. His presentation includes a History Channel documentary video about this story and the 23rd Division.

ust like our cars and homes, there comes a time when everything in life needs a little maintenance. November brings news about a major maintenance project coming to the Paul Derda Recreation Center pool. The indoor aquatic park and pool area is scheduled for closure starting November 6 with a planned reopening in February 2024. The Paul Derda Rec Center is an amazing 85,000 square foot facility that is popular with families of all sizes for its many amenities. Even with the closure of the large indoor aquatic park, PDRC has plenty to offer with its two gymnasiums, indoor track, cardio areas, and strength training equipment. The rest of the PDRC will be open during the pool maintenance with fitness classes and training sessions running as usual. To keep up the first-class facilities that enhance the quality experience that families and friends of Broomfield are accustomed to, a little maintenance is needed from time to time. During the PDRC Pool Closure, Recreation Services will be

offering a variety of kids birthday party options at both Recreation Centers including pottery, yoga, legos, art, and tumble/ play. So don’t stress about kids’ birthday parties just because the pool is closed; plan and reserve another fun-filled party at either recreation center. Plans for

Broomfield’s Town Square Continue to Take Shape

ike numerous other communities, Broomfield has experienced many changes in its more than a century lifespan. It evolved from a farming community in the mid-1800s, to a bedroom community in the middle of the 20th century, to the mature, thriving, city it is today. But if you’ve lived in the City and County of Broomfield any length of time, you’ve no doubt heard the chorus, or maybe even sung it yourself; “We need a downtown! We need a gathering place.” Well Broomfield’s City and County staff, the City Council, and the project developers have heard the plea, and planning continues.

To be sure, enhancing the acreage near the library has been on the City Council’s radar for going on two decades. Like many Broomfield residents, Seth Patterson is pleased with the proposal the City intends to move forward. “With City Council’s unanimous approval, this long-anticipated amenity for Broomfield citizens can proceed,” he explained. “The project will finally create a downtown-type Broomfield environment, with various features to encourage relaxing and lingering.” If you’re following the re-development status reports on Broomfield’s website, you’re no doubt aware of the progress. If not, here are the most recent and exciting updates. Broomfield City Council and the

Broomfield Urban Renewal Authority (BURA) unanimously approved the site-specific development plans for the first phase of what is now called the Broomfield Town Square (BTS). These plans are built on the framework for the project through a Redevelopment and Reimbursement Agreement approved in 2019 and the PUD plan (zoning) approved in 2022, supporting residents’ long-desired vision for a gathering place for the community. The first phase of the development is expected to include: • Approximately 471 multi-family (apartment) residential units and 12 townhomes • Approximately 63,590 square feet of

commercial development including a new market hall in the former Safeway building • An enlarged lake with trails and gathering areas incorporated throughout, such as a plaza near East 1st Avenue, a beach and future boathouse at the northwest edge of the lake, and smaller restaurants in various locations around the lake • Space for potential future expansion of the Broomfield Library/Auditorium facility on the east side of the expanded lake • Parking primarily located within structures set among the mixed-use buildings Realignment of Community Park Drive • Site improvements such as grading, drainage, and utilities to serve the site Income-aligned housing is required. The developer has the option to provide on-site units or pay a cash in-lieu fee to Broomfield to apply to other affordable housing developments elsewhere in the city. The Broomfield Town Square Alliance LLL (the developer, also known as Civitas Inc.) anticipates construction document preparation and permit review to take place in 2024, with physical construction to begin in 2025. A: I have been married to Roy for 50 years. We have two sons, Casey and Brian, and one daughter, Katrina and two grandsons, Davis and Colin, and one granddaughter Whitney. We live in the same house where we raised our kids, so there are deja vu moments as we watch the grandkids grow. I l also have a great daughter-in-law Kelly and a wonderful son-in-law Mike Westphal. bout Kathy: I am a Colorado native, born and raised in Denver. From a very young age I knew I wanted to be a child’s first teacher so I was so fortunate to be what I wanted to be when I grew up. I have an A.A. in Early Childhood Education and continue to read books on child and brain development. I started out with a licensed child care center in my home, taught parttime at Peter Pan Cooperative Preschool in Boulder and Apple Tree Christian Preschool in Broomfield. At the same time I was working at the Broomfield Library as the Children’s Program Coordinator. My experience working with young children afforded me the opportunity to co-author a book with Saroj Ghoting, titled STEP into Storytime: Using StoryTime Effective Practice to Strengthen the Development of Newborns to Five Year Olds. combining brain and child development with curriculum. In 2007, I was honored with the Heart of Broomfield for The Arts. I love to travel, with the beach being my favorite destination.

Q: Please tell us about your current, past, or future career. What do you love most about what you do? A: I worked two part-time jobs simultaneously; I was a preschool teacher and a Children’s Librarian. I loved working with children and enjoyed teaching as well as providing children’s programming, storytimes, parent trainings, and outreach in the community.

Chili Board to the Rescue

e are coming into the months of family and visitors and reasons to celebrate. The last thing you want to do is spend hours cooking for your guests. This massive chili board spread will be a perfect way to accommodate a large group and not spend a lot of time in the kitchen. And everyone loves to build their own dinner. Thank you Erika Brandstatter for the inspiration for this recipe! I don’t remember who gave me this chili recipe, but it is truly the best chili I’ve ever had. Don’t be put off by all the ingredients. Make a triple batch, freeze some, it’s all worth the effort.

Famous Dave’s Chili Yield: 6 to 8 servings • 3 pounds ground beef • 2 teaspoons Famous Dave’s Steak seasoning (or any brand) • 1/4 cup plus 1 tablespoon chili powder • 1 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper • 4 teaspoons ground cumin • 2 teaspoons Maggi seasoning (or soy sauce) • 1 tablespoon basil • 1 teaspoon garlic powder • 1 cup celery, chopped • 1 cup onion, chopped • 1 cup green bell pepper, chopped • 1 large jalapeno, finely chopped • 2 (16 ounce) cans hot chili beans • 1 (22 ounce) can tomato juice • 1 (15 ounce) can diced tomatoes • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato puree • 1 (10 ounce) can beef broth • 3 tablespoons Famous Dave’s BBQ sauce (I use spicy) • 2 tablespoons Kahlua • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce Combine ground beef, steak seasoning, chili powder, black pepper, cumin, Maggi, basil, and garlic powder in a pot and mix well. Cook until the ground beef begins to turn a crusty brown, stirring frequently. Add celery, onion, green pepper, and jalapeno. Cook until the vegetables are tender, stirring frequently. Add undrained chili beans, tomato juice, undrained tomatoes, tomato puree broth, BBQ sauce, Kahlua, and Worcestershire sauce and mix well. Simmer until the desired consistency is reached, stirring occasionally. Serve with desired toppings. Now building the board is where the fun is. You can use any toppings your family loves, but here is a list of toppings we use. Spread them out on a board or put in bowls around the big steaming pot of chili.

2 large eggs 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1/3 cup milk 2 Tablespoons honey 1 (14.75 ounce) can cream style corn 1/2 cup sour cream 2 (8.5 ounce) boxes Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix Preheat the oven to 400 F, and lightly grease an 8 x 8 baking dish with cooking spray. In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and oil together, then whisk in the milk and honey. Add the cream style corn and sour cream, and mix to combine. Stir the Jiffy Corn Muffin Mix into the liquid until just combined (don’t over mix it). Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and bake for 40 - 45 minutes. Check the cornbread after 40 minutes. To test if it’s ready, insert a toothpick into the center. If the toothpick comes out clean, it’s done. If it comes out a bit wet, put in for a few more minutes. Philanthropic Work at AdventHealth Avista Helps Keeps Community Whole

ovember 15 is National Philanthropy Day. To celebrate, the AdventHealth Avista Foundation would like to share some of the things they have accomplished because of the generous donations they have received. Over the past five years, more than $2.5 million has been donated to the Foundation. When the Louisville community was devastated by the Marshall Fire, the brave men and women who worked on that fateful day jumped into action to keep their patients safe from harm. Their team members worked hard in the days that followed to ensure the hospital was as clean and safe as possible to care for patients, even though many of them had personally lost everything in the fire. With the outpouring support for the hospital and its caregivers, the Foundation was able to financially help several team members with critical expenses like paying the deductibles on their cars that burned in the parking lot, and allocating funds for employees in need. The Foundation also set up an area within the hospital that was stocked with free basic essentials for colleagues and their families. Advent Health Avista is deeply grateful for the gracious and heartfelt donations that

they received during that difficult time. AdventHealth Avista is a not-for-profit hospital which means that donations are tax-deductible, and directly benefit members of the community. Contributions enable the Foundation to purchase leading edge technologies, fund community health programs, and enhance their facilities, all while focusing on serving the patients who entrust us with their care. There is a wide variety of programs that the Foundation funds. A few examples of Foundation programs include employee scholarships that assist those wanting to further their education. They also have an art and music therapist who regularly plays music and offers art classes to patients and team members. During these challenging economic times, the Foundation is so grateful they are able to help so many through their patient financial assistance program. The AdventHealth Foundation believes in keeping their communities whole by supporting and growing in demand patient service lines. This includes expanding AdventHealth Avista’s women’s health care and their new birthing center. The New Life Birthing Center is a full-service center that offers state-

of-the-art technologies and support systems. The center was designed to offer a calming environment and includes technologies to help doctors and nurses keep mom and baby as safe as possible. Genetic counselors are readily available to address patients’ questions and concerns. As the area’s preferred labor and delivery hospital, moms-to-be enjoy luxury private delivery suites and a wide variety of amenities. Foundation donations support the training and professional development of more than 200 nurses and team members resulting in the 2,000 plus babies they deliver each year and their families receiving the best care possible.
