Summer 2020
Fellow Ouachitonians, I’m writing with a brief update from Ouachita. By now, disruptions to the norm are almost expected, right? We have chosen to skip publishing the summer 2020 issue of the Ouachita Circle alumni magazine. This has allowed our staff the ability to focus our attentions on preparing for a semester unlike any other. We want to put our best effort into supporting the work of our fellow faculty and staff to provide students a meaningful Ouachita experience in the fall. We take our task seriously to help the university to communicate well about the many adjustments being made in response to COVID-19. Ouachita’s COVID-19 story is one that we still plan to tell – along with many others – in our next issue. We anticipate expanding the upcoming issue to cover the entirety of 2020, honoring the work of our faculty, staff and students during this unprecedented year. Class notes also will be published for the entire year in that issue. Take your opportunity now to submit a note at obu.edu/classnotes. In the meantime, I invite you to pray for our faculty, staff and students as we navigate the challenges that fall will bring, and I encourage you to follow along with Ouachita online: •
We have a new “Ouachita Stories” website at obu.edu/stories that brings together news and blogs from across the university and even features stories from previous print issues of the Ouachita Circle magazine.

This is an historic season, for sure.
