Located midway between Dallas and OKC, this Murray State College town will provide a welcome change from the big city grind. Outdoor enthusiasts will revel in the beauty and adventure of the Blue River, the Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge, and Pennington Creek. If Native American culture is the focus, the Chickasaw Nation Capitol Museum, Genealogical Center, and the Johnston County Historical Society Museum are located near Pennington Creek. If "shop till you drop" is your motto, then the unique stores along Main Street will be the place for you. A trip to Tishomingo would not be complete without a visit to Blake Shelton's Ole-Red, with live entertainment Saturday nights at the Doghouse.
