Great insurance starts with a great agent

A MESSAGE TO YOU

HUNT VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL MANAGER
I want to take this opportunity to welcome all of you to the 2025-26 Oshawa Generals OHL season. As always not only a welcome to the legions of returning fans, but for all of the new fans as well. Welcome to Gens Nation!!!
The large number of players that you will be seeing on the ice this season will be coming off back to back OHL championship finals appearances. A great accomplishment but we all know we fell short of our ultimate goal of winning the Robertson trophy and going to the Memorial Cup. The real success of this years team is to return to that level. Three years ago we finished in eighth place followed by a first place and fourth place regular season finishes respectively. The first-place finish and back-to-back finals appearances were the result of the building blocks being put in place seasons before and the team growing up together. Winning doesn’t happen by accident, and it must be done by doing things the right way.
The men in charge of that will be led by Mario Pouliot and his winning pedigree in junior hockey. Mario will push these players to places they may not have been before but trusting a coach that has won two Memorial Cups the reboot should move quickly. Mike Farrugia will be in his third season behind the bench, and they will be joined by newcomer Derrick Walser who most recently coached in the WHL with the Red Deer Rebels. Derrick was part of the Peterborough Pete’s coaching staff that won the OHL championship and competed in the Memorial Cup in 2023.
The hockey landscape as we know it, is changing and the people to benefit the most will be you the fans and the players. Fans will get to see young players live that they may never have been able to see before. Players with NCAA commits that may have played in other leagues to preserve their eligibility are free to explore the OHL now before going to school. Players will have the opportunity to extend their playing careers and get the best of both worlds. I suspect by the end of this upcoming season we may have half of our players with NCAA commits. However, make no mistake the OHL/CHL will remain the industry leader in producing NHL draft picks. Look no further then our own Simon Wang and Owen Griffin who had their names called for the San Jose Sharks and the Columbus Blue Jackets respectively this past June in LA.
Now you must play your part and fill this building every night. Give these guys true home ice advantage and push them to be there best night in and night out. Go Gens Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PRESIDENT & GOVERNOR
As we prepare to embark on our 88th year, we’re energized by what the future holds. While much has changed over the years, our expectations remain the same: to ice a competitive team with our sights set on returning to the finals. This year’s roster will feature an exciting blend of new talent and veteran leadership—a dynamic mix of size, skill, and relentless compete.
We can’t wait to welcome our loyal fans back to the rink and feel your support in the stands.
Starting in the new year, fans will begin to see major renovations take shape at the arena—a place the Generals have proudly called home for decades, and will continue to for years to come. These enhancements will honor our deep-rooted history while ushering in a new era of excellence, elevating the game-day experience for players and fans alike. From improved facilities to refreshed fan spaces, the upgrades will reflect the pride and spirit of the Oshawa community. This investment not only reinforces our commitment to the organization but celebrates the city we represent—with full completion slated for late 2027.

AROUND THE OHL
AS OF FEBRUARY 26TH

EAST DIVISION
OTTAWA 67 ' S
The 67’s were one of the first teams to officially punch their ticket to the playoffs a few weeks ago, but their hopes of the number one seed have taken a hit.
Thanks to a few key losses and Brantford picking up points in eight of ten, Ottawa enters the week eight points out of first place in both the Eastern Conference and the entire league.
Ottawa still has 12 games left in their season to make a run for the top seed, but they will also need both Brantford and Barrie to cool off down the stretch to catch up.
Regardless, with their deep offense – led by Cooper Foster and Jesper Kuhta as of late – and their elite goaltending tandem of Ryder Fetterolf and Jaeden Nelson, the 67’s have the potential to do serious damage in the playoffs, no matter where they finish in the standings.
CENTRAL DIVISION
BARRIE COLTS
The red-hot Colts carry a ten-game winning streak into this weekend and became the first team in the OHL to reach the 40-win plateau last Saturday.
With 22 points in his last ten, Cole Beaudoin has jumped up to a three-way tie for fourth in the scoring race with 77 on the year. Emil Hemming, Ben Wilmott and Brad Gardiner round out a solid top-six with a combined 42 points in each of their last ten.
Kashawn Aitcheson, who is now leading all OHL defenders in points with 61, recently became the Colts’ highest-scoring defenseman in club history with 162 points in his junior career as the Islanders’ prospect continues his fantastic campaign.
Barrie enters the weekend with eleven games remaining on their schedule as they continue their chase for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. They are just three points back of Brantford, who they beat last week to reach 40 wins.

MIDWEST DIVISION
GUELPH STORM
As we hit the homestretch of the season, Guelph has found some form with six wins in their last ten to take control of the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
The Storm’s surge has mostly come from scoring, but they have also handled some tough teams like London and the SOO recently in a couple of tight games.
Leafs’ prospect Tyler Hopkins has led the offensive output lately with seven goals and ten points in five his last five. Jaakko Wycisk, Wil McFadden and Illia Shibinskyi round out the top-six while Penguins’ prospect Quinn Beauchesne also has eight points in five off the blue line.
With a solid scoring group, the Storm have put themselves in a good spot with eleven games to go in their season. The fifth seed might be out of the question with London ahead of them by 15 points, but they still have control of sixth place with a six-point margin.
WEST DIVISION
FLINT FIREBIRDS
Flint continues to be on fire – no pun intended – with the playoffs just under a month away. The Firebirds carry seven wins in ten games into the weekend.
He might have been overtaken by Saginaw’s Nikita Klepov in the scoring race, but Nathan Aspinall has still been one of the league’s most dangerous playmakers with 15 points in his last ten. The Firebird captain is one of many offensive weapons in a stacked top-six.
Brought in to add to it at the deadline, Kevin He has not disappointed with 14 goals in his last ten. Him and Jimmy Lombardi have been driving the top line with Lombardi recording 13 in ten and Darian Anderson and Chris Thibodeau rounding things up as solid complimentary pieces.
The Firebirds have also punched their ticket to the dance already, but it is the Kitchener Rangers they are now trying to catch for the number one seed after letting a few points slip away recently. They are four points back of first with ten games left on their schedule.

GAME DAY PREVIEW
The Oshawa Generals return home to face the Guelph Storm in what is their second and final meeting head-to-head on the year.
It is the first time the two have seen each other since late-September – over five months ago – where the Generals dropped seven on Guelph to pick up what was their first win of the season.
Though the Storm put up 49 shots in that game, Jaden Cholette won the goalie battle against both Zachary Jovanovski and Colin Ellsworth – stopping 48 Guelph shots to pick up his first OHL win.
The Generals had two goals from Owen Griffin and points from ten different players to propel them to an offensive victory. Despite their earlier success against Guelph, both teams have shaken up their rosters significantly since September 26.
While Oshawa has sold off veterans for younger pieces in their retool throughout the season, the Storm have done the same while also building for next season’s Memorial Cup tournament.
Tyler Hopkins was their top acquisition from the Frontenacs at the trade deadline and they have also been led by Will McFadden and Illia Shybinskyi among others since selling off some of their veterans.
As Guelph prepares to host and compete in next year’s Memorial Cup Championship, their focus this year is to get back to the playoffs. They come in with firm position of the sixth seed in the Western Conference.
The Generals, meanwhile, hope to bounce back from a four-goal loss at the hands of the Brantford Bulldogs Friday night. Oshawa continues to deal with some forward injuries, but Onni Kalto helped on the offensive with two goals last game.
Another winger who has stepped up is over-ager Luke Posthumus, who has five goals in as many games. The Nepean, ON product has showcased his terrific shot all season since signing from the BCHL and the results have shown as Posthumus is second in team scoring.
For Guelph, look out for Jaakko Wycisk, who has been a key part of the Storm’s offense in his rookie season with 36 points. The Tecumseh, ON native is dangerous with both his shot and playmaking abilities and comes in with eleven points in his last ten games.

LAST GAME RECAP
FEBRUARY 27TH, 2026
The Oshawa Generals wrapped up their season series against the Brantford Bulldogs but did not get the result they wanted, dropping 7-3 to the top team in the league.
Porter Byrd-Leitner made his return to the lineup tonight as the Generals went back with eleven forwards and seven defenders with lingering injuries remaining up front.
After a pre-game ceremony that saw the Bulldogs induct long-time owner Michael Andlauer into the club’s Hall of Fame, it was the Generals that got off on the right foot early with Onni Kalto opening the scoring.
Artem Frolov’s shot off the rush caromed off the glass behind the Brantford net and Kalto followed it all the way, backhanding it past a surprised David Egorov.
Brantford would tie things up soon after with former General Zach Sandhu firing it from the point for his second goal in as many games. A 1-1 tie would stand after the first 20 minutes.
It would not stay tied for long to start the second as Brantford struck for two quick tallies in 39 seconds to go up 3-1. Cooper Dennis netted the first for his 30th of the season followed by Jeremy Freeman sneaking one through Matthew Humphries in tight.
The Generals made a push down by two, but their deficit grew bigger when Marek Vanacker tapped home a sweet cross-seem pass from Adam Benak on the power play. It was Vanacker’s league-leading 42nd on the year and 16th on the man-advantage.
Another power play-marker 2:15 after from Gabriel Frasca on the doorstep gave the Bulldogs five on the night and four in the second. They outshot Oshawa 16-7 in the middle frame.
With a four-goal lead at the start of the third, Brantford added to it with another goal on the man-advantage from Charlie Paquette. Kalto doubled down later in the frame, but the deficit would be too much to overcome for Oshawa after six unanswered Brantford goals.
The Generals did score on their one and only power play late with Luke Posthumus one-timing Owen Griffin’s feed home, but Eddison Engle put the finishing touches on things, tapping home Jake O’Brien’s neat feed.
One the heels of a strong offensive showing, the Bulldogs not only close out the season series against Oshawa with five wins in six games, but they also keep their Eastern Conference lead at three points over Barrie with this victory after the Colts also beat Sarnia in overtime tonight.
