Great insurance starts with a great agent

A MESSAGE TO YOU

HUNT VICE PRESIDENT & GENERAL MANAGER
I want to take this opportunity to welcome all of you to the 2025-26 Oshawa Generals OHL season. As always not only a welcome to the legions of returning fans, but for all of the new fans as well. Welcome to Gens Nation!!!
The large number of players that you will be seeing on the ice this season will be coming off back to back OHL championship finals appearances. A great accomplishment but we all know we fell short of our ultimate goal of winning the Robertson trophy and going to the Memorial Cup. The real success of this years team is to return to that level. Three years ago we finished in eighth place followed by a first place and fourth place regular season finishes respectively. The first-place finish and back-to-back finals appearances were the result of the building blocks being put in place seasons before and the team growing up together. Winning doesn’t happen by accident, and it must be done by doing things the right way.
The men in charge of that will be led by Mario Pouliot and his winning pedigree in junior hockey. Mario will push these players to places they may not have been before but trusting a coach that has won two Memorial Cups the reboot should move quickly. Mike Farrugia will be in his third season behind the bench, and they will be joined by newcomer Derrick Walser who most recently coached in the WHL with the Red Deer Rebels. Derrick was part of the Peterborough Pete’s coaching staff that won the OHL championship and competed in the Memorial Cup in 2023.
The hockey landscape as we know it, is changing and the people to benefit the most will be you the fans and the players. Fans will get to see young players live that they may never have been able to see before. Players with NCAA commits that may have played in other leagues to preserve their eligibility are free to explore the OHL now before going to school. Players will have the opportunity to extend their playing careers and get the best of both worlds. I suspect by the end of this upcoming season we may have half of our players with NCAA commits. However, make no mistake the OHL/CHL will remain the industry leader in producing NHL draft picks. Look no further then our own Simon Wang and Owen Griffin who had their names called for the San Jose Sharks and the Columbus Blue Jackets respectively this past June in LA.
Now you must play your part and fill this building every night. Give these guys true home ice advantage and push them to be there best night in and night out. Go Gens Go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PRESIDENT & GOVERNOR
As we prepare to embark on our 88th year, we’re energized by what the future holds. While much has changed over the years, our expectations remain the same: to ice a competitive team with our sights set on returning to the finals. This year’s roster will feature an exciting blend of new talent and veteran leadership—a dynamic mix of size, skill, and relentless compete.
We can’t wait to welcome our loyal fans back to the rink and feel your support in the stands.
Starting in the new year, fans will begin to see major renovations take shape at the arena—a place the Generals have proudly called home for decades, and will continue to for years to come. These enhancements will honor our deep-rooted history while ushering in a new era of excellence, elevating the game-day experience for players and fans alike. From improved facilities to refreshed fan spaces, the upgrades will reflect the pride and spirit of the Oshawa community. This investment not only reinforces our commitment to the organization but celebrates the city we represent—with full completion slated for late 2027.

AROUND THE OHL
AS OF FEBRUARY 19TH

EAST DIVISION
KINGSTON FRONTENACS
Kingston continues their race for positioning in the Eastern Conference rankings, but their hopes for higher spot took a hit this past week with four straight losses.
The Frontenacs have continued to gain some chemistry since the trade deadline with new acquisitions Alex McLean and Alex Misiak averaging nearly a point-per-game since joining the club.
Depth has also been the key for Kingston down the stretch with eleven of their twelve regular forwards averaging over ten points. Kieren Dervin currently leads that department with 32 on the year and eight in his last ten. Tomas Pobezal, Landon Wright and Maleek McGowan round out team scoring with 29 points each.
With 14 games left in their season, the Frontenacs are still in control of a playoff spot with six points separating them and Sudbury between the seventh and eighth seeds, but they are also five points behind Niagara for the sixth seed.
CENTRAL DIVISION
NIAGARA ICEDOGS
Also in the middle of a tight Eastern Conference are the IceDogs, who currently control the sixth seed with 57 points despite a .500 stretch in their last ten.
They are still led by Riley Patterson, who continues his outstanding season with nine goals and 18 points in his last ten games. Ryan Roobroeck also has eleven in his last ten, including eight goals, as both of Niagara’s biggest weapons have hit the 30-goal mark.
Ethan Czata, Ryerson Edgar and Hayden Reid round out the IceDogs’ top-six and have combined for 35 points in each of their last ten, but the club’s scoring help drops off a bit up front – a struggle they have had all season.
Niagara comes into this weekend four points back of North Bay for fifth place and another four behind Peterborough for fourth. As they deke it out for positioning they will also keep close tabs on the Frontenacs, who are five points behind them.

MIDWEST DIVISION
ERIE OTTERS
As the Western Conference shapes up with three playoff spots remaining, the Otters are the odd ones looking out with ten points separating them and Owen Sound for the eighth and final seed.
Things have been bleak on Erie’s end for most of the season, but they saw Michael Dec get up to over 20 goals and 40 points to lead the team in scoring. Dec was acquired from Owen Sound earlier in the year.
Kayden Edwards has netted four goals in his last five and Andrew Kuzma has also seemed to work out since coming over from Kingston with eleven points in 16 games.
Erie has 14 games remaining to try and make a push, but they will need some help in the standings if they want a shot at the playoffs. None the less, they will still look to finish their season strong in their retooling year.
WEST DIVISION
SAGINAW SPIRIT
Despite carrying a two-game winless streak into this weekend, the Spirit have moved into the seventh seed in the Western Conference and are three points back of Guelph for sixth place.
Nikita Klepov and Egor Barabanov have each had fantastic stretches, combining for 24 points in their last five games. Both of them not only lead Saginaw in scoring but are each top-five in points league-wide with Klepov at 75 and Barabanov at 72.
Also of note, Dima Zhilkin continues his terrific sophomore campaign, netting ten points in his last five and is one goal away from hitting 30 on the year. Levi Harper also leads all rookie defenders in points with 48 of them and has eleven in his last ten.
Saginaw has an interesting offensive core, but their defensive woes continue. They have 13 games to go and lots of time to battle for a higher seed, but a single point separates them and Owen Sound between seventh and eighth heading into the weekend.

GAME DAY PREVIEW
The Oshawa Generals are back at the TCC for a Sunday night faceoff with division rivals the Kingston Frontenacs.
The Generals return home after two games on the road this week, dropping 4-2 to the Brantford Bulldogs Wednesday night before picking up a 4-3 overtime win in Erie over the Otters on Friday.
Porter Byrd-Leitner, Ben Cormier, Onni Kalto and Luke Posthumus each recorded two points on the short road trip, including the overtime-winner from Posthumus in Erie to complete a two-goal night.
The Gens hope to take two in a row and three of their last five but will face a Kingston team they have yet to record a win against after dropping their first six against them on the season.
The Frontenacs are closing out a busy three-game weekend and hope to finish it off strong after taking down North Bay 5-1 Friday night and dropping to Niagara 4-3 in overtime yesterday afternoon.
Kingston continues their fight for positioning in the Eastern Conference as they come into tonight holding firm possession of the seventh seed but are four points back of the IceDogs for sixth place.
It is the last time the Frontenacs will visit the TCC on the year as the two division rivals go head-to-head for the seventh time overall in the 2025/26 campaign.
Oshawa continues to monitor injuries to multiple forwards – including Brooks Rogowski, Harrison Franssen and most recently, Aiden O’Donnell, who left Friday’s game in the first period.
After snapping his long goalless drought Friday, look for Rowen Sang to contribute with some injuries to the Generals’ forward core. Signed by Oshawa in the offseason, Sang has contributed to the team’s bottom-six all season with his strong skating and forechecking abilities.
For Kingston, look out for Landon Wright, who comes in with eleven points in his last ten. The future University of Maine commit has had an impressive back half of the season, chipping in more offensively and showing good on-ice awareness since the trade deadline.

LAST GAME RECAP
FEBRUARY 20TH, 2026
The Oshawa Generals went to Erie and picked up a 4-3 overtime victory over the Otters on the heels of Luke Posthumus’ two-goal game, including the winner.
The Generals were without Harrison Franssen tonight due to injury, but Brady Murnane returned to the lineup as Oshawa went with eleven forwards and seven defensemen. Matthew Humphries also got back between the pipes.
Erie opened things up with the first six shots of the contest and netted the icebreaker on their fourth six minutes in with Callum Hughes one-timing it past Humphries from in tight in his return to the Otter lineup.
Oshawa did not record their first shot until the twelve-minute mark, but it got them the tying goal on the power play with Onni Kalto parking himself in front and tapping home Porter Byrd-Leitner’s centring feed.
The first period would see the two teams combine for more goals than the entirety of their first meeting in Oshawa, but both sides would add to that total with three goals in 1:38 to end the opening frame.
Michael D’Alessio started it with his first OHL goal to give Erie a 2-1 lead, but Rowen Sang responded 35 seconds later as he ripped it on a two-on-one rush to tie it right back up with his first in 42 games.
Kayden Edwards retook the lead for the Otters 63 seconds after the equalizer by ripping it over Humphries from the slot and that is where it stood after 20 minutes.
The Generals had much more tempo in the second and got it back tied late thanks to Luke Posthumus grabbing a loose puck in the crease and roofing it upstairs.
It was a lower-event period, but Oshawa got the shot totals back to even with eleven of them in the middle frame and tied the game for a third time entering the third. Both sides played intense north-south hockey in the final 20 minutes but were unable to solve Humphries or Noah Tegelaar for Erie, setting up three-on-three overtime.
Posthumus ended it just 61 seconds into the extra frame as he took Lucas Moore’s cross-ice feed and tipped it through the legs of Tegelaar for the win.
They trailed three different times tonight, but the Gens rallied by shutting down Erie for the remaining 41 minutes after three goals against in the first period to pick up their eighth straight win against the Otters.
Not only did Posthumus net two goals, but Onni Kalto recorded two points and Rowen Sang bumped the slump in the opening frame with his third of the year. Matthew Humphries also picked up his fourth win since joining the Generals, rebounding after a three-goal first to make some big saves when his team needed them and finished the night with 25 stops.
