80 Years of Gasser Casino Seating The Decision Behind Your Tribe’s Future

BOOTH #3218

For Tribal enterprises, long-term economic strength is shaped by a series of decisions, many of them made quietly behind the scenes. Even small choices can have lasting consequences, either supporting sustainable growth or creating unnecessary obstacles. Selecting the right insurance carrier is one of those decisions that is often underestimated, especially in a marketplace with

The Business Case for Holiday Lighting: Why Casino Executives are Turning Decor into a Guest Experience Strategy By Mae Johnson, Marketing Director, The Decor Group As gaming properties compete for holiday foot traffic and loyalty, more casino operators are treating professional holiday lighting as a revenue lever, not a decoration line item. For casino executives, the fourth quarter is more than a seasonal backdrop – it is one of the highest-traffic, highest-emotion stretches on the calendar. Guests are choosing where to spend their money based on how they feel about a casino the moment they pull into the entrance. Holiday Decor Has Become a Measurable Guest Experience Lever Large-scale, photo-worthy holiday installations extend guest dwell time by an estimated 15 to 20 minutes and generate outsized social media engagement – exactly the kind of organic, shareable content casino marketing teams spend heavily to manufacture through other channels. Welldesigned lighting can also strategically direct foot traffic toward gaming areas, retail and dining, turning decor into a subtle wayfinding tool rather than a static backdrop.

The properties winning in the fourth quarter are the ones treating holiday decor the same way they treat a promotions calendar or entertainment lineup: planned early, budgeted deliberately and executed by specialists. Why More Gaming Properties are Outsourcing to Professional Installers • Scale and safety: commercialgrade materials, proper electrical load planning and trained installation crews reduce liability on high-traffic gaming floors, porte-cochères and parking structures. • Design consistency: a single design partner can carry a property’s brand identity through the entrance, lobby, gaming floor perimeter and

When the Casino Never Sleeps: How AMERIND Supports Workers’ Compensation in 24/7 Tribal Gaming Operations Tribal casinos are built for constant motion. The lights remain on, the floor stays active and guests expect a seamless experience at every hour of the day and night. Supporting that operation is a workforce that spans multiple shifts, departments and responsibilities. With round-the-clock activity comes a level of workplace risk that does not pause simply because it is after hours. Unlike traditional businesses, gaming operations function 24/7, including overnight shifts, weekends and holidays. Fatigue, reduced staffing levels and limited off-hours supervision can increase the likelihood of workplace injuries. Slips during overnight clean-

ing, strains in kitchens and maintenance-related incidents after hours are common. When not addressed promptly, these injuries can escalate into costly and complex workers’ compensation claims. From an operational standpoint, timing is critical. In a 24/7 environment, injuries do not always occur when supervisors, human resources personnel or risk management staff are immediately available. Incidents that happen during overnight or off-peak hours may go unreported for extended periods of time. Delays in reporting can affect medical outcomes, prolong recovery and increase overall claim severity.

exterior grounds. • Full lifecycle service: professional design, installation, ongoing maintenance through the season and postseason removal and storage – so property teams are not managing ladders and storage bins in January. • Speed: a compressed installation and turnaround window that fits around a property’s operating hours instead of disrupting them. Christmas Decor: A National Network Built for Large-Scale Commercial Accounts For casino and resort executives evaluating partners for the coming season, many have placed their trust on Christmas Decor, a white-glove holiday lighting service. “Our opportunity is expanding,” said Brandon Stephens, President and Chief Executive Officer of Christmas Decor. “Casinos and gaming properties are exactly the kind of high-visibility, high-traffic environment where professional holiday decorating creates real business value – not just a nicer lobby, but a better guest experience and a reason to come back. Our job is to make sure our franchise network is positioned to serve that opportunity at the level these properties expect.”

For Tribal enterprises, this can create financial strain while also impacting staffing continuity and the guest experience. Clear and consistent reporting procedures across all shifts, ongoing safety training for both day and night teams, and strong coordina-

Built for the Floor: Why Casino Seating Is a Long-Term Investment Every decision on a casino floor shapes the guest experience, and seating is no exception. At this year’s show, Gasser Chair Company is showcasing seating solutions built to deliver comfort, customization and long-term value in demanding gaming environments. For operators, seating does more than complete the look of a space. It supports guest comfort, reinforces the property’s brand and protects the long-term investment made in the floor. One highlight of this year’s booth is the new Allegro Armchair, Gasser’s latest addition to its gaming seating portfolio. Designed to elevate high-limit environments, the Allegro combines refined styling with exceptional comfort. Generously padded armrests provide added support during extended play, making it an ideal fit for premium gaming spaces where the seating experience is expected to match the level of service. Gasser is also featuring its

QuickShip inventory of prebuilt Metro Sportsbook Chairs, giving sportsbook operators a faster path to refresh their spaces ahead of major sporting events. These chairs are in stock and available for immediate shipment on a first-

come, first-served basis. Customization continues to be one of the most important trends in casino seating, as operators look for solutions that reflect the character of their prop-

Aruze Debuts Summit Reach, Its First Premium Lease Product Aruze Gaming Global is preparing to make its first move into the premium lease category with Summit Reach™, a towering LED signage package whose defining feature is a wall of display that comes alive in direct sync with the gameplay happening on the bank below it. The full commercial launch is scheduled for October – a timeline that positions the product as one of the most significant launches for the new Aruze. The premium space has long been dominated by a handful of established manufacturers,

but Aruze believes this gameplay-driven approach to signage sets Summit Reach apart. Rather than simply displaying branding moments or jackpot animations like most competing products, the visual LED wall reacts to and reflects what’s happening in the game itself, creating a genuine visual connection between the bank of machines and the action taking place on them. It’s a level of interactivity

Washington Indian Gaming Association’s Responsible Gaming Campaign The Washington Indian Gaming Association (WIGA), representing 24 federally recognized tribes across Washington, has launched a new statewide public awareness campaign to reduce the harms of problem gam-

bling and connect individuals and families with free, confidential support. “We’ve made real progress breaking down the stigma around many mental health issues, but that stigma can still be a barrier when it comes to

erty while enhancing the guest experience. To support that demand, Gasser has expanded its in-house capabilities with a new quilting machine. The addition opens the door to custom quilted panel designs that bring new textures, patterns and visual interest to casino seating. Paired with Gasser’s extensive selection of materials, finishes, branding options, dimensional flexibility and comfort specifications, these expanded capabilities allow each chair to be tailored to the property’s vision. That level of customization is possible because of Gasser’s American manufacturing campus. By controlling every stage of production, Gasser delivers consistent quality while remaining flexible enough to accommodate custom requests and evolving project needs. Investments in advanced equipment, including the new quilting technology, allow the company to respond quickly without compromising quality. For operators, the result is seating with greater consistency, dependable serviceability and the durability needed to perform for years. Gasser has long positioned itself

as a premium seating manufacturer, and that brings an important conversation about value. While Gasser chairs may carry a higher initial investment than some alternatives, they are engineered for durability, serviceability and long-term performance. Instead of replacing worn seating, operators can maintain and service Gasser products, keeping them on the floor longer and maximizing their investment over time. Ultimately, great seating supports great guest experiences. Comfortable chairs encourage guests to settle in and stay engaged, while thoughtful design reinforces a property’s identity. Durable, serviceable construction helps operations teams reduce downtime and protect their investment. Visit booth #3218 at the show to experience the new Allegro Armchair, learn more about QuickShip Metro Sportsbook seating and explore Gasser’s expanding custom design capabilities. only a small number of rival products in the category attempt to match. Summit Reach is launching with Triple Treasure-Wheel™, a title built on the strength of one of Aruze’s most successful existing games, Triple Treasure Pot™. The new version layers additional gameplay mechanics on top of the original’s core mechanics, aiming to deliver the kind of premium performance operators expect in exchange for lease fees. Two additional themes (Magic Unleashed™, Fantastic Dragons® Mystery) are already in the pipeline behind it, giving the company a broader runway in the category beyond a single launch title. For Aruze Gaming Global, entering the premium space marks a deliberate shift in strategy. Since new ownership took over in 2023, the company has leaned into a more selective, quality-focused approach to game development, favoring a smaller, more rigorously vetted slate of titles over a high-volume release schedule. That philosophy carries directly into

Summit Reach: rather than chasing every category at once, the company is concentrating resources on the products it believes can genuinely compete at the premium tier. Chief Executive Officer Frank Feng has described the category as “central to Aruze’s next phase of growth.” As a slot manufacturer now entering a segment of the market long shaped by larger, established suppliers, the company sees Summit Reach as an opportunity to offer operators meaningful diversification on their floors and to prove that a more selective product strategy can still produce standout results. With beta testing completed this summer and a full-scale rollout in October, Summit Reach represents both a technical bet and a strategic one: that a smaller, more focused manufacturer can carve out real space in one of the industry’s most competitive categories.

problem gambling,” said Rebecca George, Executive Director of WIGA. “Bet on Your Self reminds people that hope and help are available, and that asking for help is a sign of strength.” The “Bet on Your Self” campaign builds on WIGA’s annual responsible gaming work, which the association has sponsored since 2021. This year’s campaign uses a positive, personal approach to challenge the stigma that

can keep people from seeking support. The campaign is designed to reach frequent gamblers and concerned family and friends. It also aims to reach youth and young adults exposed to betting through gaming and emerging platforms including so-called “prediction markets.”

Where Your Insurance Dollars Go Matters Every Tribal gaming operation is built for something bigger than business. While successful gaming enterprises create jobs and generate revenue, they also help fund housing, healthcare, education, infrastructure, public safety and countless other programs that strengthen Tribal communities. Every business decision plays a role in supporting that mission, including the partners a Tribe chooses to work with. Insurance is often viewed as a necessary operating expense. Leaders compare coverage, premiums, financial strength and claim service to find the best fit for their organization. Those are important considerations. But for Tribal enterprises, there is another question worth ask-

ing: Where do your insurance dollars go after the premium is paid? For many insurance carriers, premium dollars enter the broader commercial marketplace, benefiting outside shareholders and organizations with little connection to Indian

Country. While the coverage may protect your operation, the long-term value created by those dollars often extends beyond the Tribal communities that generated them.

For Tribal Nations, that distinction matters. Every dollar invested in a business partner is an opportunity to support organizations that understand Tribal priorities and share a commitment to strengthening Tribal communities. Choosing partners whose missions align with your own helps reinforce economic sovereignty and keeps resources working toward the long-term success of Indian Country. That principle is why AMERIND was founded nearly 40 years ago. As the first and only 100% Tribally owned insurance carrier, AMERIND was created by Tribes to serve Tribes. AMERIND’s mission has always been about more than providwas recently recognized as one of the luckiest casinos in the country, we thought we’d make a little more room for the winning to continue.”

The 224-game lineup represents nearly a dozen lead-

ceramic casino chips, supplying gaming properties across North America, the Caribbean, cruise lines, tribal casinos and international gaming markets. Every chip is manufactured in the United States using premium materials and precision printing processes designed specifically for the demands of commercial gaming. Security continues to be one of the biggest priorities for casino operators, and today’s ceramic chips provide significantly more than simple denomination markings. Modern ceramic chips can incorporate sophisticated security elements such as ultraviolet (UV) printing, custom artwork, unique serial numbering and proprietary designs that help casinos protect their assets

while maintaining the integrity of their games. Beyond security, customization has become increasingly important as casinos look to strengthen their brand identity. A well-designed gaming chip becomes more than a currency substitute – it becomes part of the property’s image. Whether it’s a boutique resort, a luxury casino or a major gaming destination, custom ceramic chips can reflect a property’s personality through distinctive colors, logos, artwork and edge designs that create a premium player experience. Reliability is equally important. Casino operators need a manufacturing partner capable of delivering consistent quality, responsive customer

Ceramic gaming chips have become the preferred choice for many casinos because they combine exceptional durability, vibrant graphics and advanced security features into a single product. Hard Rock Las Vegas Guitar Tower Nears Completion The guitar-shaped hotel tower at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas is approaching completion as construction crews continue work on one of the Strip’s largest resort developments. Recent aerial footage shows that the 660-foot structure is almost fully covered with its signature blue glass panels, with only a small section of the exterior still awaiting installation. The tower has become a prominent feature of the Las Vegas skyline since construction began following the closure and demolition process of the former Mirage property. The project is being developed on the site of The Mirage at 3400 South Las Vegas Boulevard. The resort is expected to open in late 2027 following an investment of more than $4 billion. From Mirage Closure to Guitar-Shaped Landmark Aerial tracking of the construction

progress has documented the transformation of the property from the final days of The Mirage into the future Hard Rock Las Vegas resort. Drone footage from July 17, 2024, captured The Mirage on the day it closed to make way for the redevelopment. Additional flights in August 2024 showed the former resort still largely standing before demolition and site preparation continued. By November 2024, aerial images showed much of the property cleared, while footage from April 2025 captured the beginning stages of foundation work for the new guitar-shaped tower. The structure began rising visibly throughout 2025. Drone footage from July showed the tower gaining height, and by October the building had reached a significant stage of development toward its planned 42-story design.

buildings in isolation.

That’s changing fast, as operators treat the season as a chance to compete for tourism dollars, not just gaming revenue. Four trends stand out this year.

2. Highway visibility is now a design input. Properties near major travel corridors are designing displays to be seen from the road, not just from the parking lot. “When guests pull off the highway because the lights caught their eye from I-5, you know you’ve created something that’s become part of the guest experience,” said Isaac Kerns, the Christmas Decor by C&D Landscaping franchisee who led the Seven Feathers build-out. Drive-by conversion is becoming a measurable goal, not a byproduct.

1. Scale now spans the whole property, not just the casino floor. The benchmark example: Seven Feathers Casino Resort in Canyonville, Oregon, which lit up its entire 99-acre campus this past season with 1.5 million lights and more than 80 decorated holiday trees. The install reached beyond the gaming floor into the RV resort, the Truck and Travel Center, and Creekside Hotel and Suites – treating the whole footprint as one seasonal experience rather than decorating AMERIND (Cont’d. from p. 1)

companies that appear to offer similar coverage. The reality is that the wrong choice can introduce significant financial and operational strain. AMERIND is the first and only 100% Tribally owned insurance carrier for a reason. Founded 40 years ago by Tribes, for Tribes, AMERIND was created to protect Tribal people and communities, Tribal assets and Tribal sovereignty at a time when few others would. Today, AMERIND is a leading insurance carrier for workers’ compensation and Tribal government and business coverage because it understands a fundamental truth: workers’ compensation in Indian Country is not governed by a single rulebook. Tribal lands do not universally follow state law, and there is no single ordinance or regula-

The completed Guitar Hotel will include approximately 3,600 to 3,700 rooms and suites. The tower will also feature a system lighting designed to create six beams representing guitar strings, extending 20,000 feet into the sky once activated. Resort Expansion Includes Casino and Entertainment Spaces Construction has continued beyond the hotel tower, with work progressing across the wider Hard Rock Las Vegas complex. Aerial footage from February 2026 showed development of the area planned for the casino, which will include approximately 174,000 to 175,000 square feet of gaming space. The resort is also planned to feature two major entertainment venues. These include Hard Rock Live, which the holidays at this level, it becomes a reason to visit, a reason to stay and a reason to come back. This was the return of investment Christmas Decor provided Seven Feathers through the holiday lighting project. That framing – decor as retention strategy, not seasonal spend – is showing up across the industry as operators look for ways to extend visit length.

3. Decor is being reframed as guest-experience infrastructure. When a gaming property commits to

4. Earned media is becoming part of the ROI calculation. Seven Feathers drew coverage from CDC Gaming, Northwest Travel & Life Magazine, and regional outlets, with one publication calling it “worthy of a trip by itself.” Jay Ellenberger, the resort’s General Manager, said the community response has been “extra-

tory framework that applies across all Tribal Nations. Because AMERIND is 100% Tribally owned and operated, it understands this reality from the inside. Rather than relying on standardized assumptions or one-size-fits-all programs, AMERIND takes the time to understand each Tribe’s specific laws, governance structure and operational needs. That approach allows coverage to be tailored thoughtfully for each Native gaming enterprise and Tribal business, ensuring workers’ compensation programs align with how those operations truly function. Workers’ compensation remains one of the most significant risks facing new and growing Tribal enterprises. When not properly structured, claims can escalate quickly and create lasting financial impact. Selecting an insur-

ance carrier that provides guidance on prevention, reporting and claims management before injuries occur is essential. When designed correctly, workers’ compensation programs protect both the business and its employees in a way that is ethical, proactive and sustainable. There’s a reason only a Tribally owned company can truly understand what makes other Tribal businesses tick and how to provide the tools to promote their success. With AMERIND, every dollar from policy premiums supports a Tribally owned company directly and that is why the organization is dedicated to giving back through extra educational and training resources. But that is just the start. AMERIND is dedicated to saving Tribes and their enterprise money so that they too can reinvest those savings in the growth of Tribal business

will accommodate 5,000 guests, and the five-story West Theater, which will offer space for 2,000 attendees. The completed property is expected to include multiple pools, spas, restaurants, lounges, retail areas and other hospitality facilities. The former Mirage hotel structure is also undergoing extensive interior renovations, while exterior work continues on existing sections of the property. The Guitar Hotel itself will stand 42 stories tall and include 675 hotel rooms and suites, according to project details. The latest construction updates show the tower’s blue-tinted glass exterior largely installed, while crews continue adding remaining panels and completing other exterior elements. The project has become one of the most visible construction efforts on the Las Vegas Strip. Recent images show the guitar-shaped design clearly from surrounding areas, reflecting the scale of the redevelopment. ordinary.” That kind of press is increasingly factored into whether a largescale install pencils out. What to Watch Heading into the Holiday Season Expect more properties to test property-wide installs at a smaller scale, prioritize visibility from nearby roadways and partner with professional holiday lighting experts like Christmas Decor who can manage design, install and takedown within a compressed window. Since 1946, Gasser has evolved alongside the gaming industry, designing chairs that reflect changing guest expectations while remaining committed to quality, comfort and innovation. Gasser worked alongside pioneers such as Bill Harrah at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe and legendary casino designer Bud Conversano. From there, the company helped create one of the industry’s first purpose-built gaming stools. The impact of that original gaming stool extended well beyond its design. workplace safety has been core to our brand identity from day one. Many industry professionals are surprised to learn about the depth of our occupational footwear portfolio. We’ve built a comprehensive product line specifically addressing the needs of restaurant and hospitality workers who demand stylish, slip-resistant and comfortable footwear for long shifts on their feet. GN: Tell us about the SKECHERS Direct Corporate Shoe Program – who qualifies and what does it cost? HS: The program is completely costfree to the organization. No setup fees, no minimum purchase requirements, no administrative burden. Companies with 200 or more employees receive year-round 30% discounts on SKECH-

GN: How does the program handle specific uniform requirements? HS: This is where we truly differentiate ourselves. We build customized ecommerce platforms tailored to each organization’s exact uniform specifications. If a company requires black slip-resistant footwear only, the platform is curated accordingly, non-compliant styles simply don’t appear. Employees can’t accidentally purchase the wrong shoe. That level of precision is something standard industry programs just can’t match. GN: What should employees expect

GN: What’s the most exciting product innovation you’re bringing to the restaurant industry right now? HS: Without question, it’s our SKECHERS Hands-Free Slip-In™ technology, now available across dozens of SKECHERS Work styles. Employees can put their shoes on effortlessly, no bending, no manual adjustments. In a busy work environment where every second counts, that’s a genuine game-changer

Scarlet Pearl Casino Goes Pink in Memory of Dolly Parton Dolly Parton, the renowned Queen of Country, recently passed away. for October – a timeline that positions the product as one of the most significant launches for the new Aruze. The premium space has long been dominated by a handful of established manufacturers, but Aruze believes this gameplay-driven approach to signage sets Summit Reach apart. Rather than simply displaying branding moments or jackpot animations like most competing products, the visual LED wall reacts to and reflects what’s happening in the game itself, creating a genuine visual connection between the bank of machines and the action taking place on them. D’Iberville, Mississippi, is the latest venue to honor Parton’s legacy. To that end, the property has gone pink, illuminating its rooftop sign in her signature color. The tribute extends to the porte cochere, making it visible to every visitor. Casino officials called Parton a true “Pearl of the South” and praised her contributions to country music and charitable work. Scarlet Pearl isn’t the only gam-

bling venue marking her passing. In South Florida, several properties lit up in pink to say goodbye. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood, for example, turned the lights of its iconic guitar-shaped building pink and displayed an effect showing Parton’s signature butterfly. Parton Was Set to Perform in Vegas Parton was no stranger to gaming properties. In line with her efforts to reach a wide audience, she performed at a variety of Las Vegas venues, including the Riviera Hotel and The Mirage. She was also set to headline a resi-

dency at Caesars Palace, a six-concert run. Unfortunately, health complications led her to cancel. Parton’s story remains an inspiration for countless Americans. Born into poverty in Tennessee, she made quick strides in the music industry and turned professional at 16. Her song “Jolene” remains an all-time hit and has won various awards over the years. Her Dollywood Foundation has supported countless children in her home county. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has provided children a free, age-appropriate book each month since 1995.

a small number of rival products in the category attempt to match. For Aruze Gaming Global, entering

the premium space marks a deliberate shift in strategy. Since new ownership took over in 2023, the company has leaned into a more selective, qualityfocused approach to game development, favoring a smaller, more rigorously vetted slate of titles over a highvolume release schedule. That philosophy carries directly into Summit Reach: rather than chasing every category at once, the company is concentrating resources on the products it believes can genuinely compete at the premium tier. Chief Executive Officer Frank Feng has described the category as “central to Aruze’s next phase of growth.” As a slot manufacturer now entering a segment

of the market long shaped by larger, established suppliers, the company sees Summit Reach as an opportunity to offer operators meaningful diversification on their floors and to prove that a more selective product strategy can still produce standout results. With beta testing completed this summer and a full-scale rollout in October, Summit Reach represents both a technical bet and a strategic one: that a smaller, more focused manufacturer can carve out real space in one of the industry’s most competitive categories.

AMERIND also emphasizes risk control resources and safety-focused practices that help prevent or reduce injuries before they occur. Creating a culture of safety not only protects employees, but it also helps Tribal enterprises attract and retain a strong workforce while managing long-term

costs responsibly. An AM Best A (Excellent) rated company, AMERIND is the only 100% tribally owned insurance carrier serving Indian Country. For 40 years, AMERIND has delivered property, liability, commercial auto and workers’ compensation insurance for Tribes, Tribal governments and businesses. AMERIND’s approach focuses on practical protection, long-term stabil-

ity and solutions built for operational needs. AMERIND stands alongside Tribal Nations, protecting what matters most today and for generations to come, across Indian Country and beyond, rooted in purpose.

Comprehensive Protection – For Your Business and Your Team The program goes beyond discounts. Participating organizations receive a $5,000 Slip and Fall Warranty, offering an additional layer of protection against costly workplace incidents. This is a critical benefit in the high-traffic, high-risk casino and hospitality setting. Employees also gain access to quarterly Friends and Family events, where they enjoy 30% off the entire SKECHERS Footwear and Apparel collection – that’s over 3,000 styles for the whole family. For added flexibility, organizations

can offer optional payroll deduction services, allowing employees to spread footwear costs across multiple pay periods. This feature is entirely discretionary and does not impact any other program benefits. SKECHERS Direct is committed to keeping casino and hospitality industry employees safe, comfortable and on their feet, every shift, every step of the way. Remember: safety starts from the ground up™.
