SmartSense provides retail pharmacies with a comprehensive condition monitoring and prescriptive workflow solution designed to address these challenges at scale. This creates a secure, auditable record that supports compliance with CDC, FDA and State Board of Pharmacy requirements while

Rethinking Central Fill Automation for Modern Pharmacy Operations Central fill pharmacy operations are under increasing pressure to process more prescriptions faster while maintaining accuracy, controlling costs and adapting to changing demand. As prescription volumes continue to grow and fulfillment models evolve, many pharmacies are re-evaluating whether traditional automation systems can keep pace with today’s operational requirements. Historically, central fill facilities have relied on fixed conveyor networks that move vials, totes or pucks sequentially between work cells. While effective for standardized workflows, these systems often create bottlenecks because every order must follow the same predefined path. Expanding capacity, increasing throughput or modifying workflows often requires costly infrastructure changes and extended implementation timelines. To address these limitations, many organizations are exploring modular robotic automation. Rather than relying on fixed conveyance, autonomous mobile robots transport prescriptions dynamically between filling, order consolidation, packaging and shipping. This parallel processing approach allows multiple orders to move through the system simultaneously, helping reduce bottlenecks and shorten fulfillment cycle times. One example is Tompkins Robotics tSort, a modular robotic sortation platform designed to replace many of the fixed conveyor systems traditionally found in central fill facilities. Instead of routing orders through a predetermined sequence, tSort uses autonomous robots to transport and sort prescriptions based on real-time priorities, allowing facilities to process a wide variety of order types while adapting quickly to changing operational demands. The benefits extend beyond
throughput. Modular robotic systems like tSort can reduce manual handling, improve order accuracy and support a broader range of package sizes and fulfillment workflows. Because capacity is increased by adding robots rather than rebuilding infrastructure, operations can scale more gradually as prescription volumes grow. The same flexibility also makes it easier to reconfigure the system and modify workflows without disrupting production. Deployment is another consideration. Traditional conveyor-based systems often require extensive installation and facility modifications. By comparison, modular robotic systems typically require less fixed infrastructure, allowing new facilities or expansions to become operational more quickly and begin delivering value sooner. As pharmacy distribution networks continue to evolve, automation is becoming less about maximizing conveyor speed and more about creating flexible, resilient operations that can adapt to new fulfillment models. Solutions such as Tompkins Robotics tSort demonstrate how modular robotic sortation is helping central fill pharmacies improve efficiency, simplify expansion and better position themselves to meet future demand without the constraints of traditional automation. To learn more about emerging trends in central fill automation and how modular robotic sortation is being applied in pharmaceutical fulfillment, visit Tompkins Robotics at booth #2255 during this year’s show. The team is available to discuss current challenges, share real-world applications and answer your questions. For more information, go to www .tompkinsrobotics.com or stop by booth #2255.

Camber’s Parent Company, Hetero, Partners with the Gates Foundation to Supply Generic Lenacapavir for HIV Prevention Hetero One of the World’s Leaders in HIV and AIDS Medicine Camber Pharmaceuticals’ parent company, Hetero, a global leader in active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and generic drug manufacturing, announced a collaboration with the Gates Foundation to supply a generic version of lenacapavir for HIV prevention. This initiative will expand access to a powerful new prevention option for millions of people at risk of HIV in low- and middleincome countries: a low-cost, twice-yearly injectable preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP) therapy. Gates Foundation Partners with Hetero Through this new partnership, the Gates Foundation and Hetero will enable production of generic lenaca-
pavir at approximately $40 per patient per year (following a short pre-treatment oral regimen). This affordable pricing model is designed to make the breakthrough preven-
tive treatment sustainable and accessible for national health systems worldwide.
Advancing Insulin Injection with Contoured Base Pen Needles By Lisa Aglialoro, Director, U.S. Diabetes Marketing, embecta Consistent insulin delivery is an essential component of effective diabetes management, yet many patients face challenges that can compromise the quality and efficacy of their injection therapy routine. Injection technique, force and needle design all play an important role in whether insulin is consistently delivered to the subcutaneous fat, where it is most effective in controlling glucose levels. Fortunately, pen needle design can help address some common injection errors to support better patient outcomes. For example, embecta’s Nano™ 2nd Gen Pen Needles were developed to help patients deliver insulin more consistently by improving how force is distributed at the injection site. Traditional pen needles have a posted base, while Nano 2nd Gen is currently the only pen needle with a contoured base, a feature designed to compen-
sate for excessive injection force. By distributing pressure more evenly across the skin surface, this contoured base supports a more consistent 4mm target injection depth as recommended by experts.1 This design advancement has meaningful clinical implications. Nano
“Hetero is pleased to partner with the Gates Foundation to create a pathway for the sustainable and affordable supply of lenacapavir,” said Dr. Vamsi Krishna, Managing Director of Hetero Group of Companies. “This collaboration reflects our commitment to ensuring access to innovative HIV medicines for patients in India and other lowand middle-income countries.” Two Decades of ARV Treatments For over 20 years, Hetero has been one of the world’s leading providers of HIV and AIDS medicines, currently supplying approximately 40% of the global demand for antiretroviral therapies. Camber Pharmaceuticals supports this mission by offering a growing portfolio of high-quality generic treatments for patients in the United States affected by HIV and AIDS. For more information, go to www .camberpharma.com or stop by booth #1238. can come from unintended intramuscular delivery. The importance of pen needle design was recently reinforced when updated global best practices for insulin injection technique – known as FITTER Forward – were published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings in April 2025. These recommendations emphasize the role of advanced pen needle features alongside proper injection education. Specifically, experts recommend using a 4mm x 32G pen needle that incorporates a contoured needle base, a five-bevel tip, and ultra-thin wall technology – all features uniquely combined in Nano 2nd Gen Pen Needles. As the only pen needles aligned to the new expert recommendations, pharmacists may wish to suggest Nano 2nd Gen Pen Needles as one way to help improve their patients’ comfort, consistency and safety during insulin injections. For more information, go to www.embecta.com or stop by booth #769.
2nd Gen Pen Needles are estimated to reduce the risk of intramuscular injections by two- to eight-fold compared with 4mm posted base pen needles.2 This is critical, as intramuscular injections have been associated with a greater risk of hypoglycemia due to unpredictable insulin absorption.3 With consistent injection into the subcutaneous tissue, patients are less likely to experience bruising and pain, which

Grande Cosmetics Launches Lash & Brow Confidence Project Grande Cosmetics, America’s No. 1 lash and brow serum brand behind GrandeLASH-MD and GrandeBROW, announced the launch of the Lash & Brow Confidence Project. This social experiment, a first for the brand, was designed to prove what Grande Cosmetics’ community has known for years: fuller-looking lashes and brows don’t just change how you look, they change how you show up for yourself. In a beauty landscape saturated with filters and curated perfection, Grande Cosmetics went in the opposite direction. The brand recruited 25 real everyday consumers, ranging in age from their 30s to late 70s, all experiencing lash and brow damage due to hormonal changes, aging, postpartum recovery or health-related shifts. At the beginning of this experiment, many arrived frustrated, having tried everything from mascaras and brow pencils to microblading and lash extensions, only to see little results. Some testers had also never even considered a serum as an option. Over the course of their fourmonth journeys, participants documented their progress in real time, sharing honest reactions, candid beforeand-afters and unscripted reflections. What emerged was more than a product story; it was a confidence story. By
the end of the project, 100% of participants reported feeling more confident with less effort. They described holding eye contact longer, feeling effortlessly put together and showing up more fully at work, at home and in the mirror. It’s a result that echoes what the numbers have long suggested: with one bottle of GrandeLASH-MD sold every 15 seconds, confidence like this is clearly catching on. “After 18 years in this business, you start to notice something,” said Alicia Grande, Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of Grande Cosmetics. “Customers weren’t just telling us their lashes looked longer or brows looked fuller, they were telling us they stopped hiding. They were holding their heads higher, taking up space, stepping into rooms differently. We started calling it ‘the Grande effect,’ and we knew we had to prove it. This project isn’t about selling a serum. It’s about showing what happens when something finally works and what that does to a person from the inside out.” The Lash & Brow Confidence Project features a diverse group of participants spanning genders, backgrounds and life stages. els” is up over 6,000% year-over-year. Monthly search volume sits between 5,000 and 10,000 – and is still climbing. This isn’t a microtrend cresting toward irrelevance. It’s a category being built in real time, in public, by a consumer who already knows what she wants. The incumbent rode creator content to cult status but remains thin on retail distribution and brand recognition beyond its social footprint. Q-tips bring ubiquitous brand awareness, trust, quality and 100% cotton to the table on day one.
The Product Case At the center of the launch is a 100% cotton disposable face towel with an antimicrobial coating – a technology Behm is quick to flag as proprietary. “That’s a real differentiator,” she says. “Not just a label claim.” The towel checks the boxes serious skincare consumers have come to expect: barrier support, sensitivity-safe, effective for cleansing, makeup removal and clean drying. Strong distribution. Queued creator posts. And a product that can

we’ve built across the industry,” added Scott Hettenhausen, Vice President of Sales. “With this foundation in place, we are confident that 2026 will be another impactful year for Camber.” Camber Pharmaceuticals stands out with its vertical advantage because a substantial portion of its generic portfolio is fully vertical, covering everything from key starting materials to active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to finished dosage forms (FDFs). This vertical integration model is designed to minimize supply interrup-
tions and mitigate risks for partners and distributors. Camber Specialty was established to concentrate on specialty pharmaceuticals such as injectable medications and generic oncology drugs. Its portfolio includes important generic launches, like lenalidomide, eltrombopag and sodium oxybate. Camber Consumer Care, the OTC division, increased private-label and bulk-order capacity to meet the rising demand from retailers. The OTC product range emphasizes allergy, pain and gastrointestinal relief.
More importantly, the platform’s prescriptive workflows and intelligent alerts help teams identify and address issues before they become costly problems. Whether it’s a refrigerator door left open, a failing compressor or an unexpected temperature trend, SmartSense empowers staff to take corrective action quickly and consistently. In addition to protecting inventory, SmartSense helps pharmacies balance compliance requirements with operational efficiency. Pharmacy leaders gain real-time visibility across locations and can quickly access the documentation needed for audits and regulatory reviews. Trusted by many of the nation’s largest retail pharmacy organizations, SmartSense helps protect billions of dollars in temperature-sensitive med-
ications and vaccines every year. Its scalable platform combines condition monitoring, automated compliance documentation and prescriptive workflow management to help pharmacies reduce waste, identify asset health issues before they happen, improve operational consistency and safeguard product integrity. The result is greater confidence that critical medications are protected, compliant and ready for patients when they are needed most.
