Brother Knights of the Archdiocese, Now that summer comes to a close many of our councils are moving full steam ahead into the next phase of the fraternal year. There are several programs and events kicking oļ¬ this fall and a few items to wrap up from the summer Letās take the momentum from our Circle of Honor award winning year last fraternal year and ride that wave of charity, unity, and fraternity
Hillsboro - Greenļ¬eld - West Union - Waynesville

The Matching Funds program has begun and we need to get our donations in support to the Archdiocese Oļ¬cer of Evangelization and Faith Formation in EARLY! Remember, the ļ¬rst $25,000 donated (sent to State Advocate Chris Sarka, see address on last page) will be matched dollar for dollar by the Ohio Charity Foundation - our 501c3. Many councils make this a budgeted item to get their checks in quicker based on their charity fundraisers from earlier this calendar year. The check will be presented to the diocesan representatives at the January District Deputy Meeting in Columbus.

Last Friday I had the honor on your behalf of presenting last fraternal yearās Support Our Seminarians check to Archdiocesan Vocations Director Father Dan Schmitmeyer. Father has been very busy this summer recruiting seventeen new seminarians who began their discernment this August and this was the ļ¬rst time he was able to meet me in person to receive our check for $19,486. Father asked me to thank all of the councils in the Archdiocese for for their support and prayers for our seminarians. He said this will mean a huge diļ¬erence in their lives.
Please keep Fr. Schmitmeyer in your prayers as he continues to battle cancer.

This year I had the honor of attending the Supreme Convention held in Quebec City, Quebec. It was a long drive but well worth it. You can see pictures from the States Banquet at kofc.org (search for 142nd Supreme Convention) and photos featuring our own State District Deputy Director, Chris Dodson front and center during the playing of our state song "Hang On Sloopyā.
State Per Capita invoices were sent out the ļ¬rst week of July. If you have sent in your payment for the 2024-2025 fraternal year, thank you! If you have not or did not receive an invoice, please email me and I will send you a PDF copy of it for payment.

Brother Knights of the Arch,
Weāre two months into the new fraternal year and our growth numbers are improving thanks to your efforts. As we head into Fall and the Holiday Season, there are three major things to remember and focus on as you plan growth activities integrated with the faith, family, community and life events you do. These things are:
1) Recruit the family NOT just the man,
2) Hold timely exempliļ¬cations, and
3) Understand the procedures for former members.
First and foremost, keep in mind that every council activity is a growth event. Men who see what you do will be inspired to join you! Emphasize that the Knights are a family organization. We need men to help us do our good work, but we can also help them! A young father with a child starting in Catholic school (or public school and GIFT) is our most valuable resource.
Talk about Cor, and stress that in the Knights, family always comes ļ¬rst! If you impress his wife, youāll get him. The second most important group is single Catholic men. In the Knights, they will enter the social and spiritual life of their parish and meet people like themselves!
Second, focus on exemplifying every candidate before you have held two meetings! Form a CUF team of 5-7 men and hold a live CUF before every other monthly meeting. Donāt rely on other councils to hold CUFs for your candidates. The CUF is the ļ¬rst impression your council makes on a man. It can be a showcase for our brotherhood and inspire that man to get involved!
Third and lastly, recruiting former members is a great idea and an under appreciated resource for growth. Some men join the knights when they have multiple young children, jobs that require
travel or other responsibilities that prevent them from participating, so they drop out. When those men get older, they often have time to be active knights, but many do not realize they are welcome to return! Take ten minutes during your next meeting to review how easy it is for these men to rejoin your council. Your FS can explain or it, or any ofļ¬cer can who has read the relevant pages in the FS Handbook (document #1410 12/9).
When you talk to a man and he agrees to sign up, always ask him if he was a member at some time in the past and emphasize that is not a problem. You just need to know so that you can correctly ļ¬ll out the eForm 100. Your FS can then look up his membership number.
In conclusion, we are fortunate that itās never been easier to bring a man into our order! Use the many resources provided by our State and Supreme Councils to enhance and empower your growth efforts. Make sure every knight in your council knows how to sign up a man using eMembership. Talk to a man to get to know him, inform him about the knights, and inspire him to join. Signing him up should be a trivial part of that conversation. Keep up the good work!
Vivat Jesus!

Staying current with Supremeās Oļ¬ce of Youth Protection (OYP) - Safe Environment Program are necessary to achieve the Star Council Award each year. It is extremely important that your council councilās GK and directors (listed in the table below) complete the SEP in order to be compliant for Star Council.
It is also important is that our members interacting with children complete and continue training through the SafeParish: Protecting Children From Sexual Abuse ā Arch. of Cincinnati Edition program as well. The Supreme SEP program only takes 45 minutes to complete. It is good for three years.
If I have taken the Archdiocese training why do I have to take the Supreme training? By law the diļ¬erent organizations CANNOT share information which is why both programs must be completed.
The 2024 Soccer Challenge season has kicked oļ¬ and we are excited to announce that the Regional Soccer Challenge will once again be held at St. John XXIII school.
The event will be held on either Sunday October 6 or Sunday October 13 at 1:30 PM. Sundays were recommended by participants parents last year.
EXACT DATE will be announced within the next two weeks.
How am I notiļ¬ed that on how to take the training? When the councilās Form 365 with personal email addresses for the above SEP Roles (no generic email addresses) is submitted to Supreme emails are sent to those addresses with information on how to access the training.
There is a time limit on completing training, what happens if I miss the deadline? If one of the three members listed above misses the deadline then the entire 365 MUST be RESUBMITTED to Supreme either online or by email to start the clock over again for that individual. The Star Council Report will reļ¬ect this and show the 365 as not submitted (per Supreme).

⢠You held a watch party for the event where one person registered for the event, and multiple people attended. Submit a form 11077 for all member or member-eligible attendees that did not register on their own.
