Matching Funds Program has begun…

Brother Knights of the Archdiocese, Now that summer comes to a close many of our councils are moving full steam ahead into the next phase of the fraternal year. There are several programs and events kicking o this fall and a few items to wrap up from the summer Let’s take the momentum from our Circle of Honor award winning year last fraternal year and ride that wave of charity, unity, and fraternity

Support Our Seminarians… Last Friday I had the honor on your behalf of presenting last fraternal year’s Support Our Seminarians check to Archdiocesan Vocations Director Father Dan Schmitmeyer. Father has been very busy t h i s s u m m e r re c r u i t i n g seventeen new seminarians who began their discernment this August and this was the rst time he was able to meet me in person to receive our check for $19,486. Father asked me to thank all of the councils in the Archdiocese for for their support and prayers for our seminarians. He said this will mean a huge di erence in their lives. Please keep Fr. Schmitmeyer in your prayers as he continues to battle cancer.

This year I had the honor of attending the Supreme Convention held in Quebec City, Quebec. It was a long drive but well worth it. You can see pictures from the States Banquet at kofc.org (search for 142nd Supreme Convention) and photos featuring our own State District Deputy Director, Chris Dodson front and center during the playing of our state song "Hang On Sloopy”.

The Matching Funds program has begun and we need to get our donations in support to the Archdiocese O cer of Evangelization and Faith Formation in EARLY! Remember, the rst $25,000 donated (sent to State Advocate Chris Sarka, see address on last page) will be matched dollar for dollar by the Ohio Charity Foundation - our 501c3. Many councils make this a budgeted item to get their checks in quicker based on their charity fundraisers from earlier this calendar year. The check will be presented to the diocesan representatives at the January District Deputy Meeting in Columbus.

State Per Capita is due… State Per Capita invoices were sent out the rst week of July. If you have sent in your payment for the 2024-2025 fraternal year, thank you! If you have not or did not receive an invoice, please email me and I will send you a PDF copy of it for payment.

In this issue… • The Supreme O ce of Youth Protection and your Star Council achievement. • 2024 Soccer Challenge • September Fraternal Bene t Event for All • Miracle Mikey Event at Saint Gertrude • State contact and program information Brothers, as always, thank yo for all that you do for your councils, parishes, communities and throughout the Archdiocese of Cincinnati. Vivat Jesus! Michael J. Felerski State Secretary
