HAPPY NEW YEAR! Granted it is not the start of a new fraternal year but only the halfway mark. It is a time to take stock, evaluate and adjust or fraternal plans. So far it seems to be shaping up like 2021 in a way. It looks like we are still going to constantly adjust our plans due to the ongoing pandemic. But if there ever was a group who was agile in di cult times, it is the Knights. Do not despair and never give up – Father McGivney would want us to persevere in all our charitable e orts.
$2,000 grants to each of the dioceses in support of local food banks. It was my honor to present on your behalf the rst grant for $1,000 to Agape Ministries in St. Marys. The second grant will be presented to Saint Vincent de Paul at St. Michael church in Ripley laster this month.
Visit of the Three Kings This past Sunday I was a orded the opportunity to be the stand-in for the narrator’s part of the live presentation of the Visit of the Three Kings to the Manger at Bethlehem. The pageant, (currently held at the Krohn Conservatory) was started by Western & Southern, The Biedenharn Family and the Cincinnati Chapter of the Knights of Columbus in 1939.
We were able to do this because of the tremendous work of our councils here in the Archdiocese in selling this year’s Football Sweeps tickets. The recipients thank you from the bottom of their hearts in support of the poor and outcast. Once again in charity the Knights in the Archdiocese ARE making a di erence!

For this year and next as State Treasurer I will be the state chairman for the SCB program. The SCB can really help your council’s charity account and as we learned during COVID that mailing tickets really does work! My goal this year is to reach One Million In Sales for Charity! More information about the ticket distribution can be found later in this issue.

I brought my son TJ along for company and an interesting happened, he mentioned to me that he would not mind being a vocal “stand-in” if needed the next time. If you know my son, you know that he is more of a “back stage” person and you wouldn’t think it would be his kind of thing. I was pleasantly surprised. There was a good crowd but hopefully next year we will have an even bigger turnout so spread the word! Shout out to brother Ed Stadnik for all his work.
It seems like twice a year we as Knights kick it into high gear: September and January. With the new year brings Basketball free throws (including the Regional and State Free Throws which are still planned to be held LIVE), Fish Fries, the March Membership Blitz, The E6 and Cincinnati mens conferences, Easter, Mother’s Day, and the state convention. But there is one other HUGE event: The Super Cash Bonanza ticket sales and charity ra e!
