CHAMBER CHATBOOK

FROM THE GOSC EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

ANDREW SURPRISE

Executive

Greater Old Saybrook Chamber

Dear Chamber and Community Members,

The 61st Annual Arts and Crafts Festival is right around the corner, and I want to take a moment to highlight why it matters not just as a long-standing tradition, but as a core part of what makes the Chamber so community focused and effective.

This is the Chamber’s largest fundraiser of the year. The revenue from this event supports the programs, services, and outreach that benefit every one of our members—throughout the year. From small business support to networking events, professional development, and community advocacy, this festival makes it all possible.

As a former City Councilor and someone who helped launch a local arts and cultural organization, I’ve seen how these kinds of events build stronger, more connected downtowns. They bring foot traffic to local businesses, attract visitors, and give people a reason to spend time and money right here in our community. The festival isn’t just good for the Chamber. It’s good for our entire local economy.

But none of it happens without your support. Whether you participate as an attendee, sponsor, volunteer, or simply help out by spreading the word, your involvement directly strengthens the Chamber’s ability to serve our community and our members.

Thank you for being part of this work. Let’s work together to make the 61st Annual Arts and Crafts Festival another success!
