A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT & CEO
Welcome to the return engagement of SIX!
It is always fun to welcome a show that is an audience favorite back to the Orpheum. SIX was extremely popular when it played here in 2023, just as it has been on Broadway for the past five years.
Bringing shows back to the Orpheum has been an important part of our Broadway programming for decades. The show that has played here the most is Andrew Lloyd Weber’s CATS. My predecessor, Pat Halloran, brought the show to Memphis 17 times in his tenure, and I brought it once in mine.
Other great productions that have been repeat visitors include Disney’s The Lion King, Les Misérables, Wicked, Mamma Mia!, Jersey Boys, and, of course, The Phantom of the Opera
This year, following our season reveal event, social media was abuzz with excitement! But as usual, there was also a smattering of people posting their disappointment that their favorite show was not returning in the upcoming season.
To those individuals, I say, “Be patient!”
Coordinating a season has several built-in challenges. The show has a schedule to keep, as does the Orpheum. The two do not always correspond to allow a title to get to Memphis, even if it happens to being playing Nashville or St. Louis.
If there are a lot of new, exciting titles on the road and available in the same year, repeat titles might be postponed as those tours are around season after season while the newer titles might only be out for a single season. Finally, I might choose to wait on a show as I have plans for a future season that makes that title the perfect fit for an upcoming year.
Building the season is a puzzle with many moving pieces. So please be patient. I promise your show-of-choice is likely in my plans, as I work three years ahead in scheduling.
The best thing you can do to ensure you have the first opportunity to buy tickets the year your preferred show is booked is to renew your season tickets every year. And attend those shows with which you might not be familiar. They will probably surprise you!
In the meantime, enjoy this repeat play of SIX. It is worth seeing again, just like so many other favorite productions you love!

Both the Downtown Mobility Center and the MLGW Garage are steps from the Orpheum Theatre and offer reserved parking in advance. There are also several other lots, garages, and street parking near the Theatre.

Prior to joining Absolute in 2003, Scott spent eight years in financial operations and forecasting/budgeting, including four years as a financial executive at Storage USA. His experience includes the development of single - year property budgets along with l ongrange strategic and financial plans for large scale companies. During his self - storage career with Storage USA, Scott oversaw and managed the annual budgeting and forecasting responsibilities for over 400 properties, along with the creation, generation , and analysis of monthly property financial reports.
Scott holds a BS in finance from the University of Maryland and an MBA from Johns Hopkins University. Scott is actively involved with the University of Memphis Fogelman College of Business as a mentor in its Memphis Institute for Leadership Education (MILE ) program which annually pairs up business executives with elite undergraduates for mentoring and leadership opportunities. Scott is also an active member of Vistage since 2019, an international CEO coaching and peer advisory organization. Dr. Neal S. Beckford

Anna visited Katherine Howard once she became queen and bowed down to her.
Being chosen from her portrait and then rejected when Henry met her.
When Henry first met Anna of Cleves, he disguised himself, possibly imagining some sort of a romantic reaction. According to a witness, when Henry kissed Anna, she turned away coldly from the hideous stranger molesting her. The witness, Lord Russell, observed that he “never saw His Highness so marvelously astonished.”

From her arrest on November 8, 1541 until her execution three months later, Katherine stayed under house arrest at Syon House; in late January of 1542, an act was passed in Parliament that rendered it treason for a woman to become the king’s wife without “plain declaration before of her unchaste life,” meaning Henry could have her killed.

EMMA BAILEY ( Scenic Design ) is an award-winning set and costume designer based in Scotland. She originally trained as an architect and continued her studies at the prestigious Motley Theatre Design course. GEORGE STILES he/him ( Producer ) is best known as an Olivier Award-winning composer of stage musicals, most notably with lyricist Anthony Drewe. Their acclaimed shows include Honk!
