MARCH 3-8, 2026 • ORPHEUM THEATRE

Back to the Future!
I remember first seeing the movie on a bright Sunday afternoon in 1985. I went with Jim and Mardi Perry, friends in Chattanooga who invited me. That is how much I enjoyed the film. I don’t usually remember the experience of seeing movies (unlike how I remember Broadway show experiences). If I remember the day so well, I clearly liked Back to the Future

Almost forty years later, Veronica and I attended Back to the Future: The Musical in London. Again, I remember it clearly – it was a warm October evening on The Strand, our last night before heading home from that trip. Then we watched it again on Broadway and enjoyed the show as much the second time as we did the first.
All of this is to say – Back to the Future has many happy memories for me. Both the film and the stage production.
That is what I love about show business! The memories that are made by our patrons when they attend the Orpheum. I hope you leave tonight with good thoughts that stay with you a lifetime!
I often tell the staff of the theatre, “We work in show business. But we are really in the memory-making business.” It has become a bit of a mantra that we follow.
We want everything to be perfect for you every time you walk on our campus. We want the awe of the architecture to fill you with joy. And we want the show that you see on our stage to provide you with fond memories of your evening out.
Thank you for being with us for this performance. Enjoy this show for what it is – a fun recreation of a classic movie with songs and dancing added to further the story.
Laugh and applaud. Then leave the Orpheum afterwards with your spirits lifted and your memories vivid.

Brett Batterson President & CEO Orpheum Theatre Group
P.S. To make more memories, be sure to attend our free 2026-2027 Broadway Season Reveal Event on March 16th! Details at orpheum-memphis.com.
