On December 10, the Town cut the ribbon on the Garage Restoration Project at historic Steam Pump Ranch. The restored garage building includes a reception area, a community/conference room and offices which will be occupied the Town’s Recreation and Culture Division staff. Now that staff is onsite, the property will be open to the public Monday through Friday during normal business hours, in addition to various special events and Saturdays during the Heirloom Farmer’s Market. Restoring the garage is a fulfillment of one of the goals for the Steam Pump Ranch master plan which was also identified as a priority by Town Council, staff and the Historic Preservation Commission. This project also included improvements to the Pusch House building, which is a public museum operated by the Oro Valley Historical Society.

General Plan 2026 is just around the corner We need your help! Preparation is underway for the Town’s next General Plan, which is a community-driven, 10-year policy document that guides Town decisions and departments. Extensive public outreach was conducted over three years for the current Your Voice, Our Future General Plan, which resulted in an action plan that resonated with the community and was ratified by 71% of the voters. The next 10-year General Plan will be on the ballot in 2026, and the first step in the process is developing a Public Engagement Plan to ensure that Oro Valley residents have opportunities to share their input on Oro Valley’s future. We are inviting residents of all ages to help us identify the best ways to engage our community through a brief survey. For a link to the survey, please visit orovalleyaz.gov or check us out on social media. Questions? Contact Milini Simms at 520-229-4836 or msimms@orovalleyaz.gov.
