Junior Athlete - Code of Conduct & Dress Code

OLCC believes that athletic instruction and competition, at the Club level, is a cooperative effort among the parents, junior athletes, coaches, and staff.

The Mission of our coaches and instructors is to encourage and promote a safe and caring environment that will foster a fun and enjoyable experience for each child. The coaches & instructors will encourage and promote a sense of self-worth, self-discipline, and self-confidence as well as an awareness of the rights and feelings of others.

As an OLCC junior athlete and parent, I promise to adhere to all the behavior guidelines listed below and I understand the consequences that may result if I violate these guidelines.

Respect for Authority:

- I will respect and follow the requests of all coaches, instructors, pros, and OLCC staff members

Respect for Others:

- I will be courteous and respectful to all teammates, parents, siblings, and visitors

- I will support my teammates in word and deed

- I will encourage everyone to do their best

Respect for Property:

- I will respect the property and equipment of other team members

- I will take proper care and respect of the facilities

- I will clean up after myself

Tennis Dress Code:

- On-court tennis attire is “Tennis Whites” which is defined as appropriate white tennis attire (up to 10% of colored trim is permitted), including socks. Junior athletes are permitted to wear white tennis themed tee shirts, meaning all design and/or artwork must be tennis related. Tennis outerwear and hats can be of any color and only tennis shoes are allowed on the courts. Exceptions to the dress code in the case of special events are only permitted through prior approval of the Racquets Committee.

Pool & Sailing Dress Code:

Appropriate attire for swimming and sailing is governed by the traditional rules of good taste and includes only apparel specifically designed and marketed for swimming and sailing. Denim is not permitted.

Golf Dress Code:

- Suitable golf attire is required. Denim, cutoffs, tee shirts, muscle shirts, short skirts, short shorts, cargo pants, cargo shorts or tennis apparel may not be worn on the golf course. Soft spikes only may be worn on the course. If a hat is worn, it must be facing forward. Boys collared shirts must be tucked in at all times. Exceptions to the dress code in the case of special events are only permitted through prior approval of the Golf Committee.

Consequences for Misbehavior:

- 1st occurrence will result in the junior athlete being pulled from the day’s practice or lesson Additionally, a meeting will be required with the head coach, instructor, or pro, the junior athlete, and their parents before the junior athlete can return to the clinic or practice. An incident report will be sent to the parents and a copy kept on file at the Club.

- 2nd occurrence will result in a meeting with the head coach, instructor, or pro, senior Club management, junior athlete, parents, Lakefront Committee Board Liaison, and the Club President. This meeting may result in suspension from the team or clinic, and no refund will be provided. It may also result in loss of pool, sailing, golf, or tennis privileges for the remainder of the season. This suspension will affect the offending junior athlete only and not the entire family. A certified letter will be sent to the parents and a copy kept on file at the Club.
