OI China PRAYER LETTER July 2011
"Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." ~ Prov. 3: 5 - 6 (KJV)
OI China’s special friend, Mr David Mumma, visited Suqian for a week in June. David is a semi-retired entrepreneur in Asian footwear business. As he retires from the daily hands-on management of his own shoe factories he spends time coaching and consulting to OI China clients frequently while he travels from the US to Asia. This is his way of helping the poor and disadvantaged entrepreneurs.
Mr Wang Guiyu, a free-range chicken farmer in Suqian, lost 6,000 chickens during the flood of September 2010. Thanks to the emergency relief program, “Project Noah”, of OI China, Wang was given a 3-month grace period of loan repayment plus a start-over short term loan. After 3 months hard work Wang was able to rebuild his farm and repay his entire loan. He and his family are grateful of the love of OIC.

After many years of working and promoting microfinance in China, Professor Du Xiaoshan, retired from the China Academy of Social Science recently. For those who are familiar with the microfinance industry in China, Prof Du Xiaoshan is recognised as the founding father of microfinance in China. He has done a lot of researches; published many books and advised the State Council on many policies related to microfinance for China. OI China is very pleased that Prof Du has accepted the invitation to join OIC as our advisor. He will continue to contribute to the development of MFI in China through his new role with OI China.
