SKYLANDS REGION Major events in the Skylands Region include the New Jersey State Fair held in Augusta in early August, and one of the state’s splashiest Octoberfest celebrations held in Warren in October. High Point State Park, in the heart of the region, takes you 1,803 feet to New Jersey’s highest point. A section of the Appalachian Trail stretches through the Garden State – hike some or all of the trail’s 72 miles. Visit Lakota Wolf Preserve (see our ad on page 15) in Columbia to observe and listen to packs of wolves or tour Pequest Trout Hatchery to see where the public waters of New Jersey get their stock of more than 700,000 trout annually. Skylands Stadium in Augusta hosts a variety of events, including Sussex County Miners professional baseball, the Light Show and Christmas Village, the Jack-O’-Lantern Experience, and the Food Truck & Craft Beer Festival, to name a few.

ADVENTURES Belvidere, New Jersey Experience a bygone era in Belvidere. Dust off your parasols and transport yourself back to the Victorian Era as you explore the streets of Belvidere along the Delaware and Pequest Rivers. The Victorian style architecture and vibrant gardens throughout the town reflect the reasoning behind the town’s numerous designations on the National Register of Historic Places. www.belviderenj.com Explore Warren County The area offers arts, entertainment, history, hiking trails and parks, and is home to the Warren County Farmers’ Fair featuring a hot air balloon festival. Graze through the agricultural bounty at local farms, farm markets and pick-your-own operations. New Jersey’s deep Revolutionary War legacy offers an unmatched backdrop for Semiquincentennial commemorations. The state witnessed more battles and troop movements than any other colony—over 600 engagements took place within its borders. DELAWARE RIVER REGION Welcome to New Jersey’s Delaware River Region, where strolling main streets of days gone by and hiking winding trails in secluded forests make you feel like you’re in another time. The Delaware River Region is a boater’s delight. Rent a canoe or kayak from any number of vendors or drop into a tube for a lazy float down the river. Stop in at Adventure Aquarium. Relax and sip varietals at award-winning wineries and breweries throughout the region. Enjoy hayrides, blueberry picking, and corn mazes at local farms, and go ice skating or boating at the river. Troll along the sidewalks of towns like Collingswood, Haddonfield, Bordentown, Mount Holly, Pitman, Mullica Hill, Swedesboro, Medford and more, where you’ll find hundreds of shops, cafes, restaurants, art galleries, and tasting rooms.
