in the country. He’s also a pioneer in the field, and he has written numerous books about new medicine, alternative medicine, like I said, the combination of medicines, lifestyle and preventative medicine, all sorts of amazing things. We’re going to talk about a couple of his books staying healthy with the season and the detox diet today. Sharon Sayler: I’m just curious about this, describe what detox is. I think personally for me; it’s a scary word. Dr. Elson Haas: Well, it’s a simple idea that works making cleaning up our habits, cleaning up our diet, looking at the habits that we have. I have several acronyms. The new medicine is one, NEW stands for
Natural Eastern and Western, but I also have in my detox diet book an acronym called SNACCs. It stands for Sugar, nicotine, alcohol, caffeine, and chemicals. One of the reasons I wrote that book, I have chapters on each of those SNACCs, is that when I traveled around and was starting to talk about detox, I saw that more than 90% of people and these are even health talks that people are coming to relatively healthy people, but more than 90% have at least a habit to one or more of those substances a day. They’re eating sugar every day, caffeine, alcohol at night, cannabis, over the counter meds, sleeping pills, et cetera. I realized that even healthy people need to take a break, clean up, so this relates to many issues that I would call congestive and inflammatory pain allergies, digestive upset. We could all benefit from this idea of detoxification. My motto and my practice are lifestyles first, natural therapy’s next, drugs last. Omtimes.com
Awakening Tips for a Spiritual Journey By Marc Lainhart
“Awakening your purpose takes the same practice, persistence, and patience as developing any new habit. Awakening is a process

towards self-discovery that we are so much more than we perceive to be.”
4 TIPS FOR AWAKENING Your Health “IS” Your Wealth! Getting good rest, staying hydrated, eating healthy with supplements while we age is the secret of awakening. Staying active through several different forms of exercise for the body, mind, and spirit is a great way to stay connected to ourselves, (including our “higher self”), the “unseen” world, the universe, angles, guides, ascended masters or whatever belief system we hold dear and true for our daily awakening process. When we allow our internal guidance system to activate or “awaken” through our physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies that we all have in our journey, we can move into a new sense of freedom that the awakening process brings
and no longer become bogged down or concerned by dull, inanition or insignificant substances, experiences or people. We remember that the physical body is the ship that guides us through the many rivers of life. Then, using our emotional and mental bodies as our navigation system, and keeping our vessel clean, stocked, strong and sturdy with the mission to always be moving forward and having the awakening process be the “lookout” then prepare to receive messages we are all seeking in life. Embrace, Expand, Evolve the Mindset The human mind or “supercomputer” for the human experience is full of incredible ideas, creative knowledge, abilities, and power! Many times, during our journey we can get stuck in certain ways of thinking, acting and

A Look At The Four Agreements by Leigh Burton
At our best we humans strive to serve others, be there for loved ones and make a lot of what we do about making our world a better place. We do so

because it feels good and for the most part, we know that we should. However, we fall into the trap of believing that the world begins where we start and ends where we lay our head at night. It’s entirely human and for the most part acceptable because we are conditioned to do just that. We are conditioned from birth to react to external stimuli in a way that shapes the dream we have of how we each fit into society. As society evolves, so does what stimulate a reaction, and so do our ideas of what our lives should look like. In that, we become the center of our universe searching for evidence that others share our worldview. It’s not hard to find a group of people that have the same perspective or point of view on what matters most. Is it equality, a political point of view, a shared mission or passion
for something creative that nudges us closer to a closed knit group of people that we can identify with? Whatever it is, we move deeper into our beliefs as time passes and, it becomes a part of what defines who each of us is and what separates us from another. All the while empowering the beat of our drum that confirms we are right in our choices and actions. Like the branches of a tree, the path is further lead by decisions made to affirm the effort, energy, and emotion we have employed. Spreading farther away from our center and out to where we can witness a significant difference in opinion. It becomes more likely that when a difference of opinion presents itself, we take it personally. There is a part of us that doesn’t like the challenge it

A Simple Daily Practice that Works by Jim Dreaver
The beauty of the simple practice is that there is no special, eyes-closed meditation; no yoga or other exotic body movements; no restrictive diet; and no chanting, sacred rituals, or esoteric rites. It is just a matter of whenever we find ourselves lost in or getting distracted by a Omtimes.com
thought or “story,” or are having an emotional reaction to someone or something; we remember to come down out of our heads and back to the present moment. We come back to see without a “story” in the way, interfering with our clear perception of what “is” at this moment.
To help us embody this, make it real in our lives, we can affirm the liberation mantra: “We are pure presence…” Then we take a few deep, slow breaths down into our belly, unlock our knees if we are standing, and feel our feet on the ground. Be alert, yet relaxed, and feel the alive presence in our body, the fact that we exist, here, now. Do the stepping-back practice if it helps. Step back a few inches above and behind our heads, which is more the real, “pure awareness” us. Then notice how everything in our awareness—our thoughts and “stories,” the “I” thought with its endless worries and concerns, and our feelings and emotions—comes and goes, yet we are always here. Become aware of our true nature as awareness itself, the alive existence in which all sounds, sights, sensations, thoughts, and “stories”—even the most personal of stories, the “I” and “me” story—come and go, arise and disappear.
Realize or feel ourselves to be the awareness in which everything happens, in which everything comes and goes, shifts and changes. It includes, obviously, all our thoughts, beliefs, “stories,” the “I” and ego thought, as well as our emotional reactions. If the ego “I” is especially persistent in our awareness, with its judgments, criticisms, expectations, and negative self-talk, step back and love it—as opposed to resisting or struggling with it, which only makes it stronger. Then see how it comes and goes, and let it fade into the background. After all, it’s not the real “us,” the beautiful, powerful people we are—it’s just our reactive ego doing its thing. If we do this practice enough throughout the day, then eventually we will have the big “ah ha!” We will know ourselves as the pure existence, the awareness in which everything comes goes, this is assured. We will be awake, at least at this moment, to the

3 Tips to Setting Healthy Boundaries
There are three simple steps to setting boundaries that can be a real game-changer in your relationships. 1. Everyone has a different perception of reality. A little compassion goes a long Omtimes.com
way. 2. Follow-up and followthru. It’s easy to forget about things or pretend it didn’t hurt, but in the end, it eats away at your soul. Don’t let others treat you poorly and get away with it. 3. Retreat. It may be necessary to disengage to get your point across. Raise your vibration and begin attracting respectful relationships in 2019. Setting boundaries in your life aren’t always easy, but it is important if you want to surround yourself with healthy relationships. 1.) Everyone has a Different Perception of Reality. It’s true we all live in our little worlds, based upon our own experiences that we’ve had in the world. So I can say something to you, and it will get no emotional reaction yet the same sentence or story will send another into a spiral of hurt and anger. When you are establishing boundaries with the people in your life be sure to try to see things from their perspective. Was it what they said that was inappropriate or do you have a red-hot trigger button on your chest and when anyone men-
tions that topic it lights you up? This information is good to have so when you talk with the person about how you are feeling you can better understand where your emotions are coming from. Once the person understands your experience with that issue, they will have an opportunity to be more understanding in the future.
2) Follow up & Follow Thru If someone says something to you, that’s upsetting you may be too emotional to respond at the moment. It’s best NOT to respond if you are upset. Wait until the next day or a few days later when you feel emotionally stronger and have had time to go through all the scenarios in your mind of what you could say and then FOLLOW UP. Ex. When you said ___, I felt ___. I think it’s important that you know how I feel, etc. I know it’s easier to pretend it never happened and ignore your feelings, but the truth of the matter is that it DID happen and it’s going to keep happening Omtimes.com
With Family Day fresh in my mind, I’ve been thinking about the way some teenagers are growing up these days. I see these kids
Omtimes.com
all over. They’re angry and frustrated, miserable and lost, and it’s mainly the fault of their parents who’ve been letting them down. These teens are spoiled, overly entitled, self-centered and averse to hard work. They expect to win at everything they try, despite putting in hardly any effort. They don’t expect any real consequences for their lazy, selfish or bad behavior, and they focus on the pursuit of comfort and pleasure rather than on creating a meaningful existence for themselves, now and in the future. Perhaps the parents of these teens have been trying too hard to compensate for the harsh parenting they received. Perhaps they were neglected as children and are so devoid of selflove that they look to their children for their sense of
worth. They think that being “nice” will enable them to feel better about themselves. Unfortunately, spoiling one’s children doesn’t make anyone in the family feel better. Neither parents nor children benefit from this approach. All it does is a foster disconnection, disrespect, even contempt. Overly “nice” parents are trying too hard to ingratiate themselves with their teens. They’re excessively lenient with their children, allowing them to come and go at all hours of the day and night. They tolerate being talked back to with the utmost disrespect. Their parents have set them up for a life of misery. These parents demand almost nothing from their teens and instead reward them for ordinary activities that any parent ought to

Good vs. Evil vs. Wholeness by Andrea Mathews What is the playground of the mind? Where does it dally? What is the range of possibilities available to you within the scope of your
Omtimes.com
mind? No, I’m not going to talk to you, yet again, about the Law of Attraction. I’m going to talk to you about the range of possibilities inherent within the Good/ Evil spectrum. You see, most of us grew up believing that there was a standardized definition of “good” and a standardized definition of “evil.” The spectrum actually ranges from “Holy” to “Evil” with “good” at close proximity along the spectrum to “Holy,” and “bad” at close proximity to “Evil.” That’s the range of possibilities available, then, to most of us in our minds. We believe in “good,” “bad,” “Holy,” and “Evil” more than we believe in almost anything else. We came to this belief because our families of origin taught us that certain things were good, and others were bad or downright evil. It was possible for us to be good,
bad or evil, but it was not possible, within this belief system, for us to be Holy— that was reserved for the divine. So most of us were taught to strive after being good so that we wouldn’t be bad or evil. And most of us have spent our lives trying to do that. Of course, this also means that some of us will identify with the bad or evil side of the spectrum since it is one of the possibilities available to us. So, for example, a child who is chastised with severity or punished for the slightest infraction, never noticed any other time, might identify as bad or even evil. He believes since his parents mirrored only that, that these words define his character—and so he will do worse or evil to prove that he still exists at all. You see, we depend on our identities to prove our existence to us. And we develop our identities within the family of origin

Removing the Masks by Isha Judd
Everything we judge in others is an aspect of ourselves. When we learn to become aware of our automatic responses to the thing’s others, so we can go within and use the feelings that are triggered to heal ourselves. By doing this, Omtimes.com
we transform ourselves and the world around us. (699 words) We constantly see and criticize how false people are, the masks they adopt, how they compromise, and the level of mediocrity that surrounds us. We see this on the outside, in the news headlines, on social networks, on TV, in novels, but can we see it in ourselves? We swear that we are not like that, but I invite you to open up to the possibility that maybe some of this belongs to you too. Not to judge yourself, but to eradicate what is internally sustaining (albeit subtly and surreptitiously), the existence of these aspects. Everything that annoys us externally is an aspect of us, and if we can recognize it, love it and heal it, it will no longer remain hidden within, capable of generating pain and causing suffering. When we change, the world around us changes. When one heals those places of suffering, and the lack of love within, the vibration of love rises in everything. We all deserve to experience this. How can I make this change? If I do not like something on the
outside, first I need to ask myself: where is that within me? How can I change that in me? Moreover, then I must remain willing to make that change so that it can begin to happen. Here is an example: “They deceive me, they lie to me, they disappoint me, and they abandon me without telling me why, So instead of investing energy in thinking about what the other person did, how they are responsible for my suffering and how they need to change, I ask the questions: Where do I cheat myself? What do I lie about? Where am I disappointed by lost opportunities, because deep down I do not feel capable? What am I afraid of when I face a challenging situation? The important thing in this exercise is to let go of the fear of looking deep within, and to adopt the willingness to change so that we can grow. Thus, we begin to cultivate the certainty that we do deserve the best and Omtimes.com
Moving Forward With Grace After a Breakup
As a psychic medium, I help clients work through many different challenges that occur in their lives, but the one most addressed is the loss of a relationship. Whether the breakup is expected, or it blindsides a
Omtimes.com
person on a Sunday morning, the results are the same. There are few things as painful as losing someone who has been trusted, loved, and vulnerable with; especially if there are betrayal and deception that comes to light during the breakup. So how do people keep sane during this painful transition? How does one pick up the pieces of his or her life, especially after having been so interwoven with another, often for many years? Many people do not even know who they are without his or her significant other. The loss is loss and grief is grief, and once it’s over, a person faced all the stages of grief to deal with like denial, anger, depression, bargaining, and acceptance. And unfortunately for anyone who has dealt with this, these stages do not follow any order but jump from one to the other daily for months, sometimes even
years if not properly dealt with. Everyone is going to process grief and loss in different ways, so first of all, an individual must allow him or herself to feel all the many emotions. Keeping in mind, of course, that emotions are not who a person is, they are what someone feels at any given time. Emotions ebb, they flow, they come, they go. Repressing these emotions will have them bubble up later and can also cause another relationship like the old one to occur again. So, use this time to feel and reflect and learn from the experience. Stop communication with the ex! stop! (If there are children this is a bit tricky, but less communication is better in the long run.) Actions speak FAR louder than any words someone’s ex may tell them, so if they are not back with the person, it means they don’t want them. It may

Rediscovering Yourself: Reinvention in midlife A Process of Reinvention calls for letting go of the life that we once had and welcoming ourselves to think in a new perspective. To reexamine our lives, ourselves in the light of a new age. It may not be the age
Omtimes.com
that we once had, yet it is the age we have now. And how do we live in the light of this reality, once again? It needs an ongoing renewal of who we are and where we would like to be at this phase of life. A renewal taught by the art of resilience brings courage and creativity. We stretch, not to endure but to live, in the sense of living and not existing. Navigating the landscape of midlife, are we going through a crisis? The very word--reinvention sounds a new beginning, as we are on a pathway to rediscover ourselves in a new light, begin again with a new vision, say “yes” to a new perspective. It is a truth that lies beneath the struggling thoughts that arise to make meaning of everything, the life we lived so far, the years we spent, doing what was needed to be done. That was our need then, and what now? For those with children, it is a concept understood, as our parental role changes when they grow up and seek out their careers, walking on their pathways to shape their own lives. And with that comes, such a
staring void in us, leaving a feeling of emptiness inside. There’s the truth—we are no longer needed by our children in the same way. This calls for a colossal change in our relationship to our kids, and while it changes, it does call for the reinvention of other aspects of our lives. From where the kids left the homes to seek out the meaning and purpose of their own lives, from that place, that moment, we can search for other facets of our lives. Life is not a one-track sided beauty. It carries many sides, some of which stand out bare and revealed and some others, hidden, All waiting to be discovered. So many different transitions come in the midlife phase of our lives. We may be at the pinnacle of our professional lives, or we find ourselves unemployed. While walking the trails of life, we may meet an old flame. Or go for a divorce and remarry, recommit with our heart to the wedding of our souls, or either decide to be celibate.

But it was after he founded Synthes, a medical device manufacturer, that he made his fortune. In late October, Mr. Wyss published an article in the NY Times explaining his plans for the next decade. Mr. Wyss believes that conservation institutions like national parks and wildlife reserves, should be a priority of our time. Taking full responsibility for releasing the continuity of our own internal battle and tug of war. A list of things we can do to be part of releasing war from our inside out. As we stand in awe and appreciation for our lives, we also find ourselves wrestling with the fear of war. Some of the greatest minds continue to ponder over the cause of war, the battles over personal power, resources, economic gain, safety, rebellion, and revenge. Many scholars see war as a universal and ancestral aspect of human nature resulting from socio-cultural and ecological circumstances. Meanwhile, many feel it is part of the human condition. Studies show that most men do not want to go to war as it goes against their deepseated human morality. What if we embrace the possibility of ending the war? What if we take 100% responsibility for releasing our own internal battle and tug of war? What if we make reconnecting with ourselves and our source our highest priority? What if stop using war as an excuse to live in fear, stress, guilt and
holding back? What if we open ourselves to a new kind of peace and wellness that radiates from our inside out? We know that what we resist persists as we witness war continuing to grow more and more destructive. While some believe that ending the war is hopeless, many are rising to bring forth a new context of living. With the understanding that beliefs are thoughts that we think repeatedly, we know that we can re-think, feel and change the continuity of how we take action in our world. We know that that leaving the responsibility to others is not the answer. Meanwhile, we struggle with questions like how can we find peace while holding onto guilt, shame, addiction and living in a world with so much violence? How can we make a change before the war keeps growing into an even bigger crisis? The following are some of the things we can do to release the addictive continuity of war‌ Stay connected and honest with ourselves. Sit on a pillow and place three others in front. Omtimes.com
