HILLDORADO Location : Mohammed Wadi,Pune Site Area : 12,940 sq.m Built Area : 5,675 sq.m A company owns a parcel of land in a prime location in Pune, but the development potential of this property is restricted because it is located on a hillside, large parts of which have a gradient exceeding the permissible limit of 1:5. Not inclined to bend the rules, they have opted instead to develop a small campus using pre-fabricated structures that can be dismantled when required. Unsure about the many possible uses of such a venue in the future, flexibility is an important component of their design brief, but to start with they are looking to construct two types of spaces: a serviced, multipurpose pavilion and a series of modular units. In addition to this they wish to create a vibrant landscape centred around an amphitheatre. They plan to call the place “HILLDORADO”, a reference to the mythical golden city of El Dorado and the uniqueness of this project in an otherwise overbuilt suburb. PROCESS :

As the specific functions of the spaces remains undefined, several programs may be imagined: an urban resort, a concert or wedding venue, a space for workshops and exhibitions, a weekly market, a neighbourhood school, or even a quarantine centre for travellers during the pandemic; the possibilities are endless. It is left to the designer to ensure that the layout affords the required flexibility. the open air seating is accessible by the natural trail as well as by main road ,it is designed in a way such that it can accomodate pople of different age groups.

YOGA AND MEDITATION CENTRE
Location Site Area Built Area
: Alappuzha,Kerala : 42,869 sq.m : 10,230 sq.m
The challenge is to design a meditation & yoga center catering its 1000 people. The center should have open & enclosed areas for
services to max. 500meditation and yoga.
FORM DEVELOPMENT
01
Temple is oriented to east-west and the axis divides the yoga and meditation units into two parts facing towards the temple.
03
Yoga meditation units are further divided into three parts according to occupancy and having different space experience and light quality due to the different volumetric proportions
22
02
Yoga and meditation units are staggered to allow natural light inside the units and spillover spaces are created on east side. Amphitheater is oriented towards the temple and connected by the physical axis.
04
Kund is derived from the step wells of south India which is acting as a transition between temple and yoga units. Pavilions serve as a covered space for yoga.

Space for Yoga
The main idea has been used as 8 pause points and they connect all the spaces and leads towards the temple . Still water body has been used at many different places keeping in mind that it induces a feeling of relaxation and calmness in the space and a large water body is provided in between the yoga space and the temple for concentration during meditation. The yoga and meditation unit has been aligned in east-west direction to receive maximum morning sun- positive energy and evening sun – end of the day and also body cycle relation. Main axis has been formed between the yoga units and lead towards the temple to depict direct relation between the space and the soul.
