Juan José Nemer, an award-winning industrial designer and co-founder of AD HOC, collaborates with his partner, architect Mauricio Álvarez in their collection for OMET. Emphasizing the natural beauty of materials, the duo focuses on spaces and pieces that showcase Mexico’s artisan legacy, valuing manual processes and personalized details. Recipients of two AD design icon awards and recognized as “Rising American Talents” by Maison&Objet, they’ve showcased their work at international fairs like Zona Maco México, The Salon NY, Art Basel in Miami, PAD London, and Miart Milan. Born in Toluca, Meaxico, Nemer holds an Industrial Design degree from Universidad Iberoamericana, while Álvarez studied Architecture at the same institution and furthered his education in architecture at NYU in New York. Their creations are featured across the U.S., Mexico, and Europe.
Lili Cortina, an architect-turned-ceramicist, collaborates with artisans in Mexico, particularly in Metepec and Cachán de Echeverría Michoacán, creating ceramics exhibited at the Museo Nacional de Antropología in Mexico City. In her studio, Cortina explores clays from Mexico City, crafting her own glazes and clay bodies. Influenced by high-fire techniques learned from Japanese teachers in Toluca and her architectural background, her ceramics have been showcased in Mexico City Design Week exhibits. Cortina studied ceramics extensively, including three years at MOA in Toluca, studying the potter’s wheel with master Akira Morioka and porcelain theory with master Yosuke Susuki. A graduate of Universidad Iberoamericana with a master’s degree from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, she also studied color and design at UCLA. Throughout her career, Cortina has independently contributed to construction and architectural endeavors.

Marisol Centeno, a Mexico City-based textile designer, founded her studio Bi Yuu in 2012, emphasizing collaborative processes with artisan communities for coexistence, diversity, and dialogue. Expanding her creative practice, she established Estudio Marisol in 2016, blending artisanal and industrial processes. Awarded the National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA) in 2017, Centeno collaborated with global brands like Ikea, Cartier, Nike, H&M, and Pinterest, contributing to concepts, installations, and products. Selected by the Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo in 2019, her rugs joined the Contemporary Mexican Design collection. Commissioned by the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum, she created the piece “C22H20O13” for its permanent collection. Centeno’s work has been showcased in prominent museums and fairs globally, including Zona Maco México and LACMA. Currently collaborating with the IKEA global design team, she prepares for her solo exhibition, “Hilando Rituales,” at the Museo Franz Mayer in Mexico City.

As Creative Director of furniture brand OMET, she combines high-end residential and commercial expertise. Vieyra Estudio, renowned for its unique concepts and upscale material selection, has delivered 50+ projects across the United States and Mexico. Offering architectural, interior design, furniture curation, and project management services, the firm caters to diverse needs, from residential to hotel projects. Recognized as Architectural Digest’s 2020 Interior Designer of the Year, Vieyra has earned accolades such as the 2021 Noldi Schreck Award and the 2019 Firenze Entremuros Award for her residential interior design. Trained at the Universidad Iberoamericana and the Instituto Europeo di Design, Vieyra’s global perspective stems from her time at Atellier Mendini, contributing to international projects from Naples to Hannover, Germany.

Pedro Reyes, an architect turned sculptor, is renowned for his multidisciplinary works combining theater, psychology, and activism. From penetrable sculptures to puppet productions, his diverse creations include the ongoing Palas por Pistolas project, transforming 1,527 guns into shovels for tree planting. In Disarm, 6,700 destroyed guns became musical instruments. Reyes initiated Sanatorium, a transient clinic mixing art and psychology, presented globally. He created pUN, an experimental UN simulation with citizens as delegates. Awarded the U.S. State Department Medal for the Arts, Reyes’ immersive theatrical installation Doomocracy garnered acclaim. Commissioned for nuclear disarmament awareness, Atomic Amnesia / Zero Nukes was displayed in Times Square and the Swedish Parliament. Luxembourg Peace Prize recipient for disarmament efforts, Reyes recently held survey shows in Monterrey, Germany, and New Mexico, showcasing his impactful and socially conscious art.

Héctor Esrawe, a distinguished designer in limited edition pieces, furniture, interiors, and architecture, fosters collaboration and multidisciplinary interaction. Co-founder of EWE, VISSIO, and MASA, promoting Mexican collectible design, he also initiated Xinú perfumery and Casa del Agua, filtering rainwater into drinkable form. Esrawe, recognized internationally, earned accolades like Interior Design Studio of the Year 2020 (Dezeen Awards) and Best of Year Dezeen Award. Named Mexico’s Best Interior Designer (Firenze Entremuros Award 2019), he received honors for Grupo Arca’s Design Center and boasts work in the High Museum of Art’s permanent collection. Daniel Germani is an architect and designer whose multidisciplinary studio specializes in product design, interiors, consultancy, and architectural renovation. Trained at the Universidad de Buenos Aires and with nearly a decade of creative work in Europe, he is now based in Phoenix, Arizona, while collaborating globally with leading brands. His work—spanning furniture, architectural products, and accessories—has been widely exhibited, awarded internationally, and recognized for its innovation. He has lectured at major design fairs, served on juries, and currently teaches industrial design at IED Milan. Influenced by Bauhaus and modern masters such as Niemeyer, Le Corbusier, and Gio Ponti, his philosophy remains clear: good design should always be honest and inspiring.

Simon Hamui, founder and designer of Simon Hamui Design Studio, started his design/build furniture business in 1991 in Mexico, later expanding into a comprehensive interior architecture firm. A Pratt Institute graduate in industrial design, Hamui’s studio boasts a 50,000 sq ft factory, integrating carpentry, finishing, metal, stone, upholstery, and lighting departments for seamless craftsmanship. Recently recognized by AD Magazine among the top 100 designers shaping Latin American design, Hamui is launching his first high-end furniture collection. Residing in Colorado, he oversees projects and manages the studio with his brother and family, ensuring impeccable quality in complex designs.

Verónica González Zavala, founder of vgzarquitectura in Mexico City, is an acclaimed architect with a notable list of achievements. Her firm recently garnered The Architecture MasterPrize, an Archmarathon award, Architizer A+ Awards people’s choice, and Prix Versailles for green architecture. Recognized in Obras’ “10 despachos” for intelligent cities, vgzarquitectura is lauded for its contributions to sustainable design. Zavala, an AD Iconos of Design, holds degrees from Universidad Iberoamericana and the Illinois Institute of Technology, earning the Henry Adams Award. With experience at Architectonica in Miami, Tsao and Mckown, and Helpern Architects in NYC, she is also a respected professor and member of the College of Architects in Mexico City. Zavala’s commitment extends to activism, as a founding member of the group Construyendo Equidad.

Yuri Zagorín is an architect from the Universidad Iberoamericana (UIA), graduating with honors in 1994. He pursued a Master’s in Advanced Architectural Design at Columbia University, New York in 1997. He has been a projects´professor at Universidad Iberoamericana and in the Master’s in Housing at Universidad Centro. He is a member of the Colegio de Arquitectos Mexicanos (CAM), Urban Land Institute, and served as president (2000-2003) of CANADEVI Valle de México. He is a founding member of Mejor Ciudad A.C., an organization dedicated to contributing to human development through the city.
In the year 2000, he founded ZD+A. The firm has a portfolio of residential and mixeduse projects in neighborhoods with development potential, always prioritizing the concept of “Making City.”

Tatiana Bilbao ESTUDIO, founded in Mexico City in 2004, is an architecture studio rooted in contextual analysis and multidisciplinary collaboration, with projects ranging from master plans and cultural institutions to affordable housing. She is the founder of Fernanda Canales Arquitectura (formerly Arquitectura 911sc), developing projects in housing, cultural facilities, public space, and infrastructure across Mexico. A graduate of UNAM with postgraduate studies at Yale University, her work has been widely awarded, published, and exhibited in major international forums and institutions such as the Venice Architecture Biennale, MoMA, and MAXXI.
