In Studio I, we learned to deconstruct our initial idea of what architecture is by observing the world around us through shapes, movement, and light. Our senses are more than just relaying information for us in order to judge what we think we see, but to articulate a what we actually see.
Charcoal gestural drawings of the human body with models representing the movement.
This design was inspired by the tolerating qualities of chipboard. By scoring through a few layers of chipboard, the material was able to be manipulated into clean folds. The design is primarily flat squares folded into triangles and connected to form a modular design.
“The High Beam” is a personal spaced design for tranquility, relaxation, and observation of the environment around it. There is a sense of hierarchy through the primary and secondary structure that separates spaces used for yoga and meditation. Circulation through “The High Beam” is a continuous motion to represent the fluidity of the human body.

In Studio II, we began to develop more in-depth skills in precedent analysis, site analysis, and tectonic development in addition to enhancing our hand drawing and drafting skills. Through the study of scale and human proportion, we were able to connect dimensions to design.

Analysis of Building and Concept Study Models
This wood Artifact started by analyzing the precedent study of Kieran Timberlake’s Loblolly House. Through in-depth study of the rules behind the design of the siding detail, a concept for a wood tectonic artifact was developed. The rules consisted of a rhythmic pattern, sectioning by threes, and diagonal placing. These rules influenced the configuration of six 4”x4” square tiles and six 2”x12” rectangle tiles that made up the final wood artifact.
By analyzing the forest area behind the Architecture building, developed a study space that branches through the trees and creates 6 secluded spaces and one main space. Based on the rigid nature of the topography, angles were extracted from the site to create a space of triangulation. Each private space is accessed through climbing stemming from the idea of climbing trees.

In Design Communication I we were introduced to Rhino 7, InDesign, and Photoshop. Through these programs, our digital analysis and digital literacy were developed by precedent studies and recreations. In addition to digital programs, we were introduced to laser cutters and 3D printers.
In Studio III we began to develop our special organization in terms of building programs based on the type of building we were designing. In addition, we integrated our digital design skills through Revit and InDesign.

This is a small accessory dwellling unit located in Atlanta that was designed with rotational circulation up through the space. The View Port ADU is positioned on the site to maximize the views and natural light allowed into the spaces.
A place where public and private spaces co-exist together, The Living Mural brings together the community through the expression of art and movement. Based on Marietta Square’s noise and circulation trends, The Living Mural isolates living corridors from the noise of outside through an interactive skin. This multi-residential complex carries on the character of Marietta through an embodiment of the surrounding murals.

In Design Communication II we further developed our digital modeling techniques through the introduction of Revit. In addition, we learned how to digitally represent building systems through a precedent study.
In Environmental Technology and Building Systems I, we began our investigation into building systems by working with wood, foam, plastic, and concrete materials.Through learning about the different processes of using these materials, we developed a parametric tile design. In addition, we developed our building system knowledge by digitally drawing wall sections of existing buildings.
The design of our tile explores the contrast between the hardness and softness of water. This design was developed by three students that illustrated this concept through the positive and negative forms of spheres decreasing in size at the center point at which the spheres are connected.
Digital drawings and massing of the concept were developed by me, as well as the orthographic drawings of the final design. Design Concept

In Studio 4 we began to integrate structural concepts to our design process along with developing our design based on the program of the type of building. We pushed our design skills and ability to use multiple programs to produce designs that emphasize structure and program.

The Arbor is a Farm-To-Table Restaurant located by Marietta Square and a place for people to gather and support local farms. This restaurant is positioned on the site to influence the circulation of foot traffic through and around the restaurant and connect the square to other parking lots and businesses. The idea of an integrated garden was developed based on the farmers market that is held every Saturday in the parking lot above the site.
The Point is a photography studio and gallery designed to symbolize the converging lines within a camera. Through the study of the process of photography, the program of space in museums, and the circulation around the site the space within the building is designed to pull light in through skylights along with an interconnected spaces that creates an immersive experience.
“The architect should be equipped with knowledge of many branches of study and varied kinds of learning, for it is by his judgment that all work done by the other arts is put to the test. This knowledge is the child of practice and theory.”
