SO D A LITY Every Tuesday afternooa after close of school, the senior Sodaliets file into the biology lab for their meeting. These meetings are run by Prefect, Dick Schaplowsky, and Vice-prefect, Mike McCarthy. At these meetings are discussed subjects ranging from teenager drinking to college life. The Sodalists do not confine their ac tivities to meetings. The annual Thanks giving food drive for the needy of Washing ton and the old-stamp collecting drive to aid foreign mission
aries. The Wednesday Religious Activities collec tions and the Lenten drive for money for the Boliv ian Missions of the Xaveriaa Brothers and the Bishops' Relief are coordinated by the Sodality. Every morning before school they say the Rosary in chapel and on Thursday Monsignor Coyne or Father Schaeffer hears confessions and distributes Holy Communion. The First Friday Masses are supervised by the members. Sodalihts strive to improve in their spiritual lives by reading, studying, and holding conferences.

On November 20 of the senior year, at 2 P.M., seventy-three students boarded two busses for the Retreat House in Fulkner Maryland. The Retreat Center is a spacious, comfortable, and remotely loc ated estate which strikes one with its feeling of security and ease. The Retreat was conducted by Father Felix Martin, S. J. SENIO R R E T R E A T given the opportunity to put aside all other worries and considerations in order to examine their spiritual lives. Outside spiritual exercises, talks, and conferences, mon astic silence was maintained. During meals all listened to taped talks that were both interesting and uplifting. The early evenings were taken up watching movies on the wonders of God. Father Martin told of his experiences teaching in the Philipine Islands. Some of the talks contained mat erial closely related to the subject matter of this year's religion course. The boys walked around in sort of a glow for several days after returning, but the teachers found them just as mischievous as ever.

infram urals The seniors of '62 will always remember the intense spirit with which they entered into OLGC's intramural program. Heading the list for the whole four years was basketball. As freshmen, IC dom inated the Leagues. Paced by Bob Bombard and Frank James, IC swept 12 straight games. As sophomores and juniors, the B class swung in to prominence, and capped it all by taking the title in their sen ior year. Led by M.Yakimchik, T. Fischetti, G. Krause, R. Bos well, and R. Schaplowsky, this fearsome five powered its way to three titles. The seniors wound up the last season by losing the All-Star thriller, 39-^2, to the lowly but spirited juniors. k A ' s L. golf Golf is an allweather sport. Through as much of the year as possible, the members head out for the links as soon after school as possible in order to get in a round be fore the sun sets. The team has been going at it since Brother Clyde started the team four years ago. The varsity team plays about ten matches before enter ing the Private School Championship and the Schoolboy Championship. Dick Rushmore has been the mainstay of the team from the start.

the S E N IO R P R O M After weeks of preparation, on April 27, 1962 Good Counsel presented its first Senior Prom at the Manor Club near Olney, Maryland. Thanks to the com petence of the S.A.C. officers and the committee chairmen, the students rendered a truly brilliant affair. The following were committee chairmen: J. Heiberger, General Chairman; S. Fletcher, Co-chair man; G. Krause, Program and Announcement; B. Key, Favors; C.Edwards,table reservations; Joe Jouvenal, Flowers; J. Federline, Decorations; J. O'Connell, Refreshments; J. Howard, chaperones; A. Guidi, or chestra and arrangements. Upon arrival, a seafood dinner was served to the music of the Sylvians. Then some tables were re moved for dancing. The girls outdid themselves with their splendid hairdos and gowns. At 10:30, the promenade took place; a favor, a blue and silver medal, was presented to each girl. Rhonda Hutchin son, R. Schaplowsky'8 date, and Elaina Cecil, J. Heiberger's date, were presented with bouquets. One O'Clock, and the candlelight hues playing on faces and flowers and the sounds of laughter and harmon ious brass passed into memory.
