A New Chapter
We are delighted to announce a new partnership between The King’s School Canterbury and Spring Grove School, beginning in September 2026. For both schools, it represents an important and exciting new chapter.
Spring Grove and King’s have enjoyed a close, positive relationship for many years. Both schools have their own distinct character and ethos, but share the same fundamental purpose: providing an outstanding education that nurtures the whole child - fostering intellectual curiosity, offering exceptional breadth of opportunity, and surrounding pupils with the pastoral care and support they need to thrive.
Both schools also share the conviction that collaboration, done well, makes each stronger. The partnership is not about making the schools the same. Spring Grove will remain proudly Spring Grove and King’s will remain proudly King’s. What the partnership offers is the chance for two schools, already strong and successful in their own right, to work together in ways that build on their considerable strengths - and to ensure that both continue to flourish for the pupils, families and communities they serve.
Opportunities for Pupils
At the heart of this partnership is a shared commitment to enhancing the educational experience and opportunities available to every pupil.
The partnership between King’s and Spring Grove will create exciting new opportunities for pupils at both schools.
Pupils will benefit from the sharing of expertise between colleagues, which will strengthen teaching and learning across both schools and ensure that pupils continue to receive the highest standards of education in the classroom.
Beyond the classroom, the partnership will also create opportunities to enrich the co-curricular life of both schools. Pupils will benefit from an expanded range of activities in areas such as sport, music, drama, academic enrichment and outdoor education.
Over time, the relationship between the two schools will open up further opportunities through shared experiences, wider collaboration and an enriched educational journey.

This partnership creates opportunities for staff to work more closely together, to exchange ideas and to learn from one another’s experience. It encourages collaboration across different stages of education, strengthening understanding and continuity for pupils.

The new King’s School Education Group is being established in the context of today’s education landscape, where consolidation and partnership is increasing.
The creation of the Group, and the partnership, means both King’s and Spring Grove continue to move forward positively, signalling our ambition as forward-thinking, modern schools that uphold and value our history.
